I was super impressed with the manner the young lady treated me. She was attentive, kind and very efficient. She gave me a choice of very nice cars. The car was clean and ready to be driven off the parking lot. The location might be unassuming but the service was excellent. I am sorry I did not get the name of the young woman. She truly deserves praise and recognition.

The Young Lady at Avis was very Polite, very Professional, very Thorough in explaining all the Rental details as well as return procedures.My flight was changed thus causing a problem with my return and she recommended an after hour drop off location which turned out to be an excellent idea. She is to be recognized for her outstanding service.

My original reservation was for a vehicle that accepted two large bags. Went to the spot to get car. The car wasn't there? The representative was great and upgraded the vehicle which was very comfortable. I extended my reservation 3 times. The only problem was understanding the employees who extended the reservation over the phone. They either spoke to fast with a heavy accent or their mouth piece needed adjustments. All and all 5 stars ?

I couldn’t say better things about this Avis location. James and his amazing associate truly made me feel like family. If I could recommend a good and honest rental facility, it is absolutely this one!

I have rented from this agency before but on the Budget side and had a pleasant experience then and had a pleasant experience this time renting through this agency on the Avis side. Yes, the agency isn't the nicest around...it's basically a mobile home-type building that you walk into and it's very small inside but the staff is good at getting you in and out. Most rental car agency "lobbies" are nothing to write home about so I don't care too much about this.We rented an intermediate SUV to take over to Julian, California and we were given a pretty new Mazda CX-5 that had some pretty nice features (sun roof, all safety systems, back up camera, leather seats, heated seats, push button start), so we were pleased with this vehicle. It also had a full tank of gas, which is really nice. It seems this agency is very adamant on their cars having a full tank of gas and I appreciate this because it's a pain when you rent a car and can't just go and have to stop for gas. The interior of the car was a little dirty but not too bad. I went over the interior with a disinfectant wipe to clean up some of the dirt/dust. I have definitely rented cars in way worse condition. Pick up and drop off was a snap and I'll definitely do business with this agency, whether is be Avis or Budget, again.

Have been an avid customer to Avis. This location doesn’t have an after hour drop off facility like many other locations & rental agencies. We only needed the car until Sun 3pm so we went to pickup the car on Fri 3pm. The front desk guy said that we need to pay for the 3rd day and drop it off on Monday as they close by noon on Sunday. We had no choice except to pay for the extra day.The guy in the front desk was not welcoming.

Avis needs to hire or train their employees alot better, Guy at the front is rude and not helpful, had a attitude like your bothering him because you went to rent there. Price is lower then other companies but pay the extra elsewhere for better customer service.

Based on the high percentage of negative reviews, we were dubious about renting from Avis at 1401 N Arizona Ave in Chandler, Arizona. But because we reserved our car thru Costco (which we've done many times), we figured it would be OK. Entering their "office" my Spidey senses started pinging like crazy as it was a dump. In fact, while waiting in-line I started searching for other car rental options. The gal behind the desk was friendly, processed the paperwork promptly - but there was no, "let's inspect the car together". Walking to the car I realized why: she was too embarrassed: it literally had a piece of the bumper guard (not sure that's what you call it) hanging down, multiple scratches, a loose license plate, bent glove box door and a loose trunk lid liner. So why did I accept it? Because it appeared to be the only one on the lot, it was 114 degrees outside and I was very short on time. My initial assessment was that it actually drove OK and seemed mechanically sound. During our 800 mile trip to Salt Lake City (SLC), we were treated to a disturbing "whomp-whomp" sound at highway speeds, and were further entertained during a rain shower watching the passenger side wiper blade doing its damnedest to break free. Sounds bad, eh? But wait, there's more! Turns out the car did not have the jack or any of required tools to change a tire! Fortunately, we did not experience a flat. And the lack of the jack or tooling didn't matter anyway because THERE WAS NO SPARE TIRE! Needless to say, we turned the car in at the SLC airport ASAP. The gentleman receiving the car was fantastic and was appalled at the condition of the car, stating it should never have been rented out. The AVIS folks gave us another vehicle, but just walking up to it we saw that the roof weather stripping on the driver's side was only partially attached: with more than 1/2 - just laying across the middle of the roof between the driver and passenger's sides. Naturally, we had to ask for another car. Now at this point, one would have thought they'd have upgraded us a few notches, but alas, Avis was not done with us yet! Instead, they gave us a slight downgrade AND kicked in a grungy, sticky interior - at no extra charge! Realizing this was probably as good as it was going to get, we shook our heads and took it. Of course when we returned to Arizona, we were inundated by Avis' heartfelt apologies for our all troubles and their rabid insistence on making reparations. HA, HA - good one huh?

My pickup experience was easy and smooth, but once I got into the car, I was disgusted. Everything was sticky and dirty on the interior. Looks like it hasn't been cleaned in awhile. I spent 30 minutes cleaning the interior before I would even drive it. In addition, the vehicle was visibly damaged on the outside and did not have a good appearance, scratches and dents everywhere. Exterior was covered in dirt and could barely see out of the windshield. I was embarrassed to pull up in this vehicle. For the price you are charging for rental vehicles, some extra effort is needed because this wouldn't fly anywhere else. I haven't experienced this issue at other locations in the past, so consider this issue limited to this location. 0 stars for this horrible experience.

We made a reservation at Avis a month ago for this morning at 8am. When we walked in there were already 4 people standing there in a enclosed room with no air conditioning. The people already there were visibly profusely sweating and taking things off the counter to fan themselves with. The one and only lady working in there was talking to the people in front of us when she told them they didn't have any cars available even after those people also had a reservation. When we asked if a car would be available for the woman working asked if we made the reservation overnight to which we responded that we'd made the reservation a month ago. She told us we could call another Avis to see if they had cars. After having no luck when calling two other locations, she told us that we could upgrade to the only car they had available for an extra $20 a day. I didn't understand why me and my family had to take on the extra expense when Avis didn't have a car that we had already paid for and told was reserved for us. She then told us the car reserved for us was supposed to be here yesterday but it wasn't. That raised the question of what why didn't we receive a phone call telling us when they knew this was going to be an issue a day prior. When we asked about upgrading to the only car available she then told us the computers were down and she couldn't rent out ANY cars. As we were outside and I was clearly frustrated and upset over now not knowing if I would be able to make my sister's wedding the lady came out and told me she was calling the police. It appalled me that she could pick up the phone to call the police on me, but couldn't pick up the phone to let me know the situation the day before. She also couldn't be bothered to call any of the other locations to see if they had any other cars and left everything completely on my shoulders. This was the absolute worst car renting experience ever without actually getting a car. I would not recommend this place at all, save your time and money. The customer service is near non existent, and they don't seem like they're going to do anything about it.

BEWARE, THEY WILL LIE AND ADD EXTRA CHARGES!! Atttached is a picture and a video proving I returned my rental on full. They lied on the receipt saying I returned it on empty, and the receipt showed more mileage then I returned it with. They charged me extra because of this, and Avis refuses to do anything about it despite my video proving this location is lying. Never rent from them!!!

First time renting at this location, and it will be my only time. Customer service is not a priority here. When I picked up the car, the girl was rude and the car was really dirty. I had to do some cleaning on it before I left on my trip. The inside had what looked like dirt stains everywhere. When I dropped off the car, the guy was rude. Didn't ask anything about how it went. I guess I'm used to better service form places like enterprise or hertz, where they care about the customer. Not here. When I dropped off the car, the guy went out and moved it and didn't tell me anything. Well, a few days later, I received the final invoice. They added a $60 misc. charge. I called to see what it was. Turns out it was a $60 cleaning fee. They charged me to clean a car that they gave dirty to me in the first place. I rent cars 10-15 times per year and I've never been charged a cleaning fee. I'll never go back here again, and if you are reading this, You should find a different location to rent from. STAY AWAY!
