The friendly and mature staff at Ortega pointed me and my lovely wife in the right direction without being pushy. We made a couple of purchases, got a handwritten receipt, and all items were gift boxed with care.If you like beautiful and natural, I suggest stopping in and saying hi.

Ton of very nice items. Even in a "tourist" area I found a couple of items that I couldn't leave without. Sue was very helpful in getting me the right stuff, and noting what was on "sale".

There are some interesting & unique items & good browsing here, though a lot was over-priced IMHO. Also, sorta weird interactions with the counter help here... so while my guest enjoyed this place, I'll likely pass on any return here

I can not believe the disrespect from this owner. Especially during a time when we should celebrate our indigenous Indians. The fact that he lives off of the goods he sells from them. Shameful and disgraceful. Go somewhere else. We will not stand for hate in this city.

Owner does not respect Indigenous people and exploits Native artists. Do not purchase from this store.

Did a great job selling and sizing my two rings purchased during a sale there. Quality is great and the staff knows the history of their pieces.

I like this place because it’s not just the low end, tourist items that every store has. That said you can find the expected gifts at good prices. They also have jewelry and rugs made by local artists. Owner is open to negotiating on the higher priced items too.

I came to Carefree to bring a friend who had never been because I love this town. First place we walked into and the woman behind the counter was talking politics with the man working there. I was shocked she continued to go on and on about it. I commented and so did another person in the store and she continued. This was terrible business practice and I would fire her. I was disgusting and so was other people in the store as we discussed it outside as we a left and none of us purchased anything because of her mouth. I will not come back or recommend this place ever.

Great native American art & jewelery. Reasonable prices for excellent quality native American items.

We have visited Max's shop many times over the last few years. We've bought mostly jewelry because my wife adores his pieces. We've also bought an outdoor wind-chime piece. I find Max to be one of the nicest people I've ever met. And we're from the east coast where nobody likes anybody. That's also the reason we visit Arizona every winter.

They're so friendly and there's many options. After I bought a few things I found a small part of my bracelet frayed and they quickly fixed it and even gave me the option of picking another one out. Great customer service.
