We are Phoenix locals and visited during the summer as a stay-cation. The room and grounds exceeded expectations but the greatest surprise was the classes included with the stay! They helped put us in the right headspace. Will be back.

Was there for my Besties weekend spa birthday vacation and had a blast. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, the coffee amazing and the bar service was great. Just an all-around amazing experience. Our deep tissue massages at the spa were so relaxing and if I had to rate the aerial yoga was the best class. We will return.
Nearby activities: Went to the Brunch restaurant just a mere 3 minutes from the property and the food was plentiful and tasty. Glad we decided to venture out a little.

1000/10!! Longer review later, but this was a LIFE-changing trip. ? Spiritual and soothing and delicious and healing--with amazing service???, amenities??♀️, ??♀️therapists, workshops ??♀️, natural wild life ??, and exploratory options ??♀️. Aerial yoga, trampoline classes, fancy nootroogen smoothies with a thousand nutrients, all of this. So thoughtfully done. Yes yes yes. If you're staying for awhile, absolutely enjoy Terras and The Seed (STELLAR superfood drinks/lattes), but maybe skip the meal plan lol. Best discounts in summer if you can withstand the sun ;)

My husband and I took at trip to the Scottsdale area and stayed a couple nights at CIVANA. It took me about two weeks to find the right place for us that had a spa and was adult only. I am so happy we found CIVANA. It was smaller than a big resort so it made it more intimate. The pools were big and we never had to search for a lounge chair. The food and cocktails were excellent! The only thing is that it’s kind of far away from any night life if that is what you want. My husband and I stayed at the resort and didn’t venture off so we were totally happy.
Rooms: Rooms are just like the pictures.
Food & drinks: Food and drinks were all delicious. All cooked to perfection with the right blend of flavors.

My husband and I truly enjoyed every moment at Civana. From the Easy check in and water bottle to the pleasant room the property was intimate and welcoming. The spa was amazing! I really enjoyed my service and I felt like I had an out of body experience. I also really loved the classes and did I mention food? I was honestly surprised! Everything I ate was delicious. The property is very very clean and well kept! I will be back!
Safety: It’s in a fairly remote area, Carefree, AZ, and I felt really safe!

I spent a blissful four days at Civana a few weeks ago... and I may or may not have teared up as I packed my suitcase to return home.
The service from staff, both before you arrive and once you are on property, is exceptional. Whether it was an early check-in to help scheduling classes after I arrived, each person I interacted with was helpful and kind.
Classes are varied, there is something for every person and every interest, from gym workouts to yoga to relaxing sound baths. I particularly enjoyed (and highly recommend) what someone else described as the "sets": the AM intention setting and PM reset, which is a gratitude circle. These sessions truly help you begin and end your day in the right frame of mind. Overall, the instructors are very encouraging and generous in sharing their knowledge... and I left with several tools that I could implement once getting back home. I thought the food was very good and offered quite a bit of variety, including vegan options. My favorite items were the smoothies from the Seed market as well as the salmon tacos.
One thing I particularly loved: receiving a journal upon check in. I'd actually brought my own but this was a pleasant surprise -- and the prompts provide an excellent opportunity to reflect on your stay and anything else on your mind.
I booked Civana as a one-off vacation but I intend to make it an annual thing. If you go, I strongly advise immersing fully in the experience and allow yourself to rest and rejuvenate in this beautiful, nurturing space.

Incredible solo wellness journey and stay at Civana. This beautiful resort offers top notch wellness classes from aerial yoga, guided desert hikes, meditation and sound healing. Great hospitality all around from the staff prior to me arrival to my stay. There are two restaurants that offer nourishing foods - I loved the smoothies from their Seed cafe and their Terras restaurant (although expensive was delicious). The burger at Terras was so good I had to order it twice during my stay.
I stayed in the King Spa room and it was fabulous. Room was clean and spacious.
The spa is one of the best spa facilities I’ve been to with an aqua circuit that includes cold and hot plunge, steam room, sauna, outdoor salt water lap pool and beautiful relaxation rooms. The spa alone would bring me back.

Booked this resort thinking it was in Sedona. It is actually about 2 hours away but I am SO GLAD, I booked it. It is an incredible wellness resort! The combination of the classes, spa, food, and environment was exactly what we needed. We visited in July, which was extremely hot but we did benefit from a lower room rate. Next time I will visit between Sept and May. The heat was oppressive.

June 2024:
I really love the addition of Dr. Paria Vaziri. I really hope to see more of her. Her knowledge is a gift to the world of healing and wellness
Visited again in March 2023: I just love the staff and facility. Lamont at the front is hella cool. Special shout out to Eric and Anny. Anny is especially phenomenal. And any class with Marney Henze is special, book early and do the cold plunge if you can.
Everything about the facility is five stars. Staff, food, shuttle driver, room, activities. They are really good at what they do. The people at Seed cafe are kind and joyful, and you lose yourself in their competence and care. Terra is great. Any practice with Stacy Mattingly is solid and special. I want to give a special mention to Ericka Brian (@omnamaste) and her sound healing classes, they were therapeutic and just the best way to end a day. And register for the sound alchemy class by Cortney Halstead (@dailybreathyoga) early , it is next level and she is next level. She alone was worth the cost of everything. The sound Alchemy session will center your spirit and change your life. It will also fill up fast with a wait list that is out of this world fyi. Continue being amazing, Thanks Y'all!
