Friendly and helpful. Someone always greets you as soon as you walk through the door and asks if you need any help. They are never pushy. Just helpful...in a good way. Store is well organized and clean. Never have to wait long in a line when waiting to pay for items.

Purchased a propane tank couple days ago for an upcoming cookout party. Couldn’t get it to work, ruined the evening. I’ve had issues with the rental tanks before so I thought I’d just take it back and purchase a new one, have it filled/refilled. Hometown Ace Hardware said “no refunds“, “against our policy“. I said you’ve got to be kidding - the tank doesn’t work. I would just rather buy one rather than exchange and go through this again. I wouldn’t have any kind of a hassle from Home Depot, Lowe’s, even the local gas stations, so what is the big deal here? The response I got was “we’re not trying to be those guys” .. Wow, OK, clearly not. They did offer to sell me a new one and fill it, check, etc . - but then they spent 40 minutes confirming this one didn’t work and then trying to “fix” it. I told them I did not want to go this route. So in their response below to offer to exchange tanks omits that aspect.. The response also conveniently omits the fact that they offered to sell me a new one, fill it and be on my way. They ever told me they were spending all this time in the back tinkering around with the old tank to try to get it to work. Once they did, they reneged on the original offer to just give me a new tank and let me fill/refill as I had originally requested. Look, bottom line – I bought something that didn’t work, I couldn’t use and brought it back within two days kindly asking for a refund. I just don’t think that’s ridiculous. If you read their reviews, they have a chronic problem with refunds on anything, not just propane tanks. I called Ace corporate, nothing “helpful” about this store. Corporate listened and were very empathetic, but said local ownership determines their policy. They did add that unfortunately they’ve had issues/complaints against this store for the same reasons. Seriously, if everything is about keeping their money, no refunds and you get screwed – why would you go here? There’s too many other reputable businesses and vendors that won’t go out of their way play games like this. If you have a problem with anything and seeking refund or reasonable resolution, chances are you’re going to get a hassle.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Kayden!. One of the young man that work at ace hardware here in Verrado. He helped me this morning, and I should say he took the lead this morning, locating the owners of two stray dogs, who came into our store, PostNet, this morning. Kayden didn’t hesitate to help and had the dogs placed within just an hour or two. Really appreciate his concern in his effort. And I’m certain the dogs, who apparently had been out for about two days, looking for food and water, as well as their owners, are also very happy with his efforts.

Purchased a propane tank for upcoming barbecue. Didn't have an exchange so paid $70 for the tank and the propane. Didn't work the night of the barbecue, the valve was inop. Screwed up everything! Figured I just take it back, refund, purchase a new tank and have it filled. I've had issues with these rentals previously. When I tried to take it back, they said no refunds - against their policy. What?! You gotta be kidding me, where is the "helpful hardware folks" song and dance? They said they would fill a new tank for me on exchange which was fine - but then they spent the next 40 minutes trying to prove to me that I was wrong, nothing wrong with my original tank. At first they couldn't get it started either but after doing some adjustment, they finally got it to work. The whole time I sat there and kept thinking what is the big deal? I would have no problem, returning it at Home Depot, Lowe's, anywhere else but here everything was about keeping their money and trying to show me up. Once they got the original tank to work, I said fine - oh you're still feeling a new one just so I don't have to go through this hassle again. They said no, yours is working fine now. I couldn't believe it .. disgusted, I just walked out. They can keep the tank, they can keep the $70 - obviously it's worth more than them then it was to me. I wanted nothing more to do with them. This was an unbelievably lousy experience. Garbage.

Love the store, but these employees make me feel so uncomfortable to shop! Everytime I come here employees greet me and ask if I need help. After I tell them I'm browsing around I get followed around as if I'm going to steal. They always stare and follow me through every aisle and ask if I need help at the end of each aisle. Can you please stop and let me shop. I would have purchased more but I guess I'll go to lowes and browse there. It's wild.

Very knowledgeable helped me with my purchase of the xl big green egg, were able to deliver it the same day and assemble it. I. Was thankful. I only trust ace. I'm from Denver and relocated to Arizona, glad ace was here

I needed a propane gas line for my trailer. I told the salesman I didn't know which one. He looked at mine and said he had what I need. I purchased 2 and went home and tried to put them on. They did not fit. I went back to the store and they told me they could not accept returns of propane products. I explained that I was following the advice of their employee. Manager told me "we may have advised you but ultimately the choice to purchase it was your decision". I will use this store only for small things when I don't feel like driving to another store. I am very disappointed that they don't stand behind their advice. Very poor customer service and attitude.

Definitely some quality service! All the employees greeted us and ask us if we need help. The selection is vast but don't get me wrong they do run out of popular things. They do online orders for you but meh I dont have time for it. Any ways good store. Clean too.

I’m wondering how does this store have 5 star reviews. Do not shop at the store. If you purchase something, and you are not satisfied, they will not return the product not even to satisfy or please their customers they could care less. Why would you want to shop at a store that does not accept returns? Stay away from them. I hope they do build a Home Depot in Verrado so they can go out of business.

Was a prior 5 star review until today. Went in looking for a hard hat and found a 3m ratcheting on the shelf for $9.99. Went to check out and it rang up at $16.99. Met the manager to show him where I found the hard hat and the tag that was on the shelf. There were two spots for hard hats and two price tags both stating “3m hard hat.”His excuse was it must be a new product and someone must have just stuck it on the shelf because there was no tag with a $16 price. He would only take off $2 instead of selling it for the price listed on the shelf tag.I’m not a store manager but if I was I’d be inclined to sell my merchandise at the price listed on the shelf tag, even if it’s the wrong tag but is vague and says “3m hard hat”. You can’t expect consumers to read upc codes to match up product pricing. That’s your job.

They have stuff to fix stuff.. Employees are helpful but not the pushy helpful which is great. The manager Kathy was very nice.

This store is perfection. Very clean, genuinely friendly staff, and the location could not be better for our family who live nearby. Also, there is plenty of parking.

The employees are knowledgeable and happy. They always have the necessities and also a big selection of unique products that are fantastic for gift giving. The plants always look healthy, and I LOVE that they have a wide selection of the Australian Outback branded plants. On top of all of this, they play epic music. I can’t get enough of this place, it’s the best, and that is coming from someone who seriously loves hardware stores.

Most toxic workplace ever! Every time I come to this location, I notice how badly the employees are treated. After talking to a couple of them, they confirmed that the management and owners are the same, lots of family members work there, and they have no HR department in the company . Nobody that can defend this worker. I don't think people like this should be allowed to own a business. Also very pricey.
