I have been with Banfield Hospital for approximately 15 years. Since moving here to Arizona, I have had such terrible treatment and service. The office manager called a couple times to push out my dogs appointment. During one of the calls, he told me that there are 1 million dogs and they only have three vets to treat them. Unbelievable. I’ve had two providers suggest to me to euthanize my dog Amongst many other issues in attitudes with the staff from multiple locations in Avondale Arizona. The office manager at the Buckeye Road location told me that they have 1 million animals and only three doctors. That was during a phone call where he was forcing me to cancel an appointment for my pet, who just discharged from an emergency hospital last week. I do not recommend this facility. I’m canceling the wellness plans for all four of my pets. I will never utilize Banfield hospital again.

We paid $300+ to check a lump for cancer on our dogs belly. It has been almost 30 days now with no response to the results. I had called a week ago and was told the results have came in but the doctor was out, and I would receive a call with the test results. Nothing has happened and we just feel robbed now with such an expensive test with no results.

Vet visits are always challenging for us.Typically we have to wait anywhere from 10 minutes up to 30 minutes when we arrive at our appointments.I am new to the area and didn't know what to expect. First my dog and I waited for 3 minutes and it was our turn we were moved to our room.Next the assistants Gina & Crystal were so good to my boy. Starting with how they put the leash on him. He was upset so they decided instead of creating the slip tie leash around his neck they created a different type of leash that was very considerate.When asked about it she said he looked like he would pull and she felt he would do better with the adjusted leash (which he did).When I arrived to pick him up again I did not wait long before they were ready for me. Dr. Mclhenney was very informative and explained my questions about his report and other concerns. She was very pleasant to speak to.After she finished the report the ladies brought him back and helped me put his harness onFinally when I got home my dog did not take long to settle down. Normally I dread vet visits but this was a great great experience. Thank you!

Always a pleasure shopping for my pet here. Your staff was super helpful in fitting a harness to my dog, I am always able to get what I came in for, if I can't find it, someone will take me to it, and check out is a breeze. Thanks for taking good care of Snoop and me.Regards, Rich Merk

I'm sorry but this is the second time that I came here and had an issue with my dog. Last time I got all the up to the district manager and finally got my issue resolved and was promised that "notes would be in the chart so I can have what I asked for next time" they promised to take care of me and my dog and yet again here we are with me getting so upset! I'm DONE with this location of Petsmart for GOOD!

The hours say 8am-6pm, but that's not true... this place closes at 5pm. So if you work regular hours mon-fri 8-5 you will have to take off work just to take your pet to the vet or pick up any medicine prescribed. Or go on a Saturday which they are booked out until December on Saturdays. I will be looking for a new vet hospital. I made to the place by 6 pm only to find out everyone leaves at 5pm not 6pm like the voicemail recording states. The Staff is nice, so that why they get 2*. They need to update their hours of operation.

I would give zero but that is not an option.Called about an euthanization, our dog is much older having trouble getting up, growling even when no one is near him, running into things, bit a neighbors dog. all VALID reasons to ask to have a dog put down. Was told that, "That is not an option unless you are established and we will need to wait to get a new appt and the vet at that time can discuss if that is a possibility for you." I'm sorry I literally have gone back and forth on the if I should or shouldn't do it, if it was his time or not. It is NOT the vets choice when we feel it is the right time when we have already been struggling deciding if NOW is right.The complete lack of compassion! There were no questions on how old what's going on nothing, just we dont do those unless we feel its right... I probably should have done it a month ago... I finally decide okay, now is the time and you want to JUDGE another persons time they have finally chosen to put their dog down. I will DEFINITELY never go to a banfield again.

The staff have always been helpful and kind. My dog comes back happy from each visit. The vets are wonderful. We have been coming here for the past two years.

I have always had a positive experience at Banfield in Avondale. We took our dog Max to Banfield since we got him from the shelter in 2010. We originally went to Banfield because my husband and I both were working and liked Banfield's flexible hours. We enrolled Max in one of the Optimum Wellness plans (monthly payments) that allowed us regular check ups along with some x rays and teeth cleanings. It also included discounts on his prescriptions. I believe our plan allowed us to save quite a bit of money over the years on vet bills. The staff at Banfield has always been kind and caring. We had to say goodbye to Max a few months ago due to a heart condition. Our vet and her staff went out of their way to make that difficult day painless for Max and showed us so much compassion, I will not hesitate to take our next fur baby to Banfield in Avondale.
