Locals and longtime Waterton regulars will tell you that Pats is the heartbeat of the town. For such a tiny store, they sure do a lot.
It’s the best (and cheapest) candy store in town. My kids would rather go to Pats than Disneyland. It’s the best rental place in town (I recommend the electric bikes). It’s the most affordable ice cream in town, and the most affordable fountain pop in town. The owners are awesome, and they are better guides than the park rangers. They have the best souvenirs (my wife buys a new shirt every summer). 5 stars every day of the week.

It was a different experience but be prepared to WORK. Three of us on the bike was a workout. My suggestion is to walk or bring your own bike. Also, when the store suggests starting with a half hour, listen to them!

Pat's is such a fun stop. They have lots of necessities should you need any, and the friendliest, most helpful staff (Ben, you were the best!). They have a great selection of souvenir shirts, totes, etc. We stopped by every day of our trip. Thanks for the fun experience!

The owners are the nicest guys. Their employees are so helpful with more information about the park than many parks workers. Also, you’ll find some of the best souvenirs in the whole park at Pat’s. They don’t even charge a park premium for food and other items that lots of other stores in the park tack on. The bike rentals are fantastic and they are so helpful. All around probably the best business in Waterton. Plus the kids love to ride their horse Thunder when we visit. All the joy of visiting Waterton starts and ends at Pats.

I really love this place! They carry many amenities and I get a kick out of some of the products they sell. Service is excellent and their policies renting Surrey bikes, bicycles, all require a credit card deposit. It’s quite a fair policy for good reason. If someone rented something from me, I’d expect it returned in the same condition and respect.

Be aware American customers. They will not accept your debit credit card as they refuse to upgrade to technology that will use it. I used my debit/credit card as a credit card for a hotel deposit in Canada, and as a credit card At stores and gas stations. I showed up to rent 2 tandems I was told that I could not use my credit/debit card as a credit card because they need an imprint of a credit card for insurance. When I told the staff that in the USA alot of people have the credit/debit combo and do not carry another card. (My card was connected to my line of credit.)She told me in a snarky tone that "this was Canada not the US." I understand needing credit card as insurance but everywhere else in Canada has had no problem with this card as a credit card and this place would not budge and became rude. They were still using credit imprint technology so they could not process the combo card. It sounded like they got a lot of Americans that have the combo card but they can not rent a bike. So it was not just me. Thankfully someone else in our party had a card they could imprint. It was embarrassing to ask another party member to use their card. I do not think I would use this company again. Even after all that It's $20 per 30 min. The bikes were not in the best condition. The breaks were loud and on at least one bike we tried the breaks did not work. They were difficult to pedal. would be nice to have more than one gear but that was expected for such a buggy of a bike. I found you could not tour much of Watertown in 30 min on these so we switched to walking and did just fine. We will save money and not rent these again. Maybe we will try the paddle boats at Cameron Lake or a Kyack.

This was the best place in town! The people working there were so friendly, and chill! They are super nice and help ya out! It was funny to witness some people figure out their bike rentals around town, but Pats was super helpful for the customers struggling with gear switching on their bikes. Totally would just vibe there. Great service!
