I’ve lived in strathmore for 15 years. I’ve had on and off business with this dealership for the entirety of my time here. Wife and I decided to buy a loaded to the teeth half ton for her to drive. The sales guys were pretty good. Finance was as painless as it could go. The service department is where the nightmare starts. The new truck had TPM issues since its first oil change. We’ve had it addressed everytime it went in. There was always a recalibration or replacement of tpm sensors for it just to come back. Now that it’s off warranty we’ve made it an issue for them to permanently fix it.
Trip 1: called the next day and told it’s the radar detector interfering with the TPM signals. They even proceeded to provide a bulletin. Being curious I stopped and ford and dodge to ask about this tpm interference and if they’ve heard of it. Both shop foreman puzzled. I’m even more puzzled as that radar detector hasn’t worked in 18 months, let alone been powered on. None the less we took the truck and took it back same day as the TPm acted up again.
Trip 2: we were called and told that they re calibrated the tpms, relearned, all the tech things to do with these tpms. They even flattened the tires and reinflated them to test them. Interesting. The app didn’t even send a notification that any of the tires were running low. Anyways we go pick it up, you guessed it, the tpm system is acting up again.
Trip 3: they’ve narrowed it down to the front passenger tpm, they’ve replaced it and we are assured it’s good to go. My wife drives the truck onto the highway, TPM back on.
Trip 4: we’ve been told the TPM they’ve replaced was no good. They did the flat test and reinflate again. Hey we even got the notifications on the app the tire is flat. We got to pick it up, turn the truck on and don’t even have it in drive before the tpm system is barking flags again. We go in, hand them the keys to try again.
I get a call from their service writer that the issue is the tpm receiver and they’re going to get the part from Vancouver. But they’re going to need to charge me for it. I politely ask if that seems reasonable considering the history and the dealership never really getting to the bottom of the issue. Even in recent history I’m seeing the bandaids getting put onto this issue and it’s never been more apparent that they have never gotten to the bottom of this issue. She says “I see exactly what you’re saying, I’m going to take this back to the service manager”. Now keep in mind they’ve had this thing for two weeks. I call back to see where we are at as the manager has not contacted me. The service writer was surprised and confused.
I hate to say this but buyer beware. Inflation has driven vehicle prices to historic levels and I wouldn’t buy from someone that can’t back a product that costs 80 to 120k.

Needed to purchase a used vehicle for work. Trevor Unger was the salesmen that helped me. Even though it wasn't a new vehicle and on the lower price, he gave me the attention like I was buying the most expensive car on the lot. Return calls quickly, was honest, and made me feel like he always had my best interest as his main priority. I would highly recommend Trevor and Strathmore Motors if you are in need of a vehicle and appreciated good service.
