Words cannot express the degree of gratitude I feel toward Katie and Jay; I was in a precarious situation if left without our vehicle, as my husband needs to be travelling to Calgary for medical treatment on a daily basis. The compassion shown by Katie and Jay today reflects their generous souls.
I cannot recommend JMR strongly enough.

The mechanics and receptionist are fantastic. Great interactions with them. The owner not so much. He made the decision to permanently alter my vehicle to fit aftermarket parts instead of ordering the proper OEM parts, all without asking me first. Pretty big mechanic faux pas. When I even started to argue the point he threatened to keep my car and rip the parts out of it rather than come to a reasonable arrangement when it came to the very expensive bill he gave me for the hack job. I ended up paying him mostly because he was essentially holding my car hostage and I just didn't have the time to deal with him. They also ordered a part for me in Calgary, had me pick it up or else they would have to charge me 50 bucks for a 3 dollar part. Then when I went to the place, turned out they didn't even order the correct part so I had to look up the part number, reorder it myself and then make the trip twice.Lastly, they don't carry diagnostic equipment for all car brands. Just domestics it seems. Maybe this guy was having an off day or something because I've heard nothing but good stuff from people around town. Either way, recommend you steer clear unless you have a domestic and I guess if he doesn't decide to be hostile when he makes a mistake.EDIT: very hostile response from the owner again. The bill was a huge surprise, I was not quoted during the entire job. Only given the bill at the end of the job. As for the aftermarket parts I originally brought in, they did attempt to use those, which they discovered were wrong as well. That is 100% my fault yes. But when given the opportunity to use the proper parts, he still ordered ones that requires modifying the vehicle to use. Perhaps he finds me intimidating, which I can't help, but I in no way attempted to intimidate him into lowering the prices. I asked questions as to what they did and when they admitted to permanently altering my vehicle without consulting me first, I questioned the reasonableness of the bill and hours submitted on it for a job that would have otherwise been very simple with OEM parts. Once I said that he jumped straight into an ultimatum.As for the diagnostic equipment, I specifically asked if they had VAGCOM diagnostic equipment at the start and the owner said no. For those that don't know (owner maybe included), you can get a VAGCOM/VCDS interface kit for about 150 bucks on Amazon. Then purchase a license from Ross Tech (price is different depending on if you're a mechanic shop or not). Download the software onto a laptop and you're off to the races. So for him to say he has top of the line aftermarket readers in one breath and then no to VAGCOM in the other seems odd to me.Anyway, lesson learned, hopefully people reading this won't have to learn it too.

I took my vehicle in for diagnostics, fault was intermittent and no error found. When I asked what the final charge was for testing I was told, “no charge. Bring it back when the fault returns and we will check again”. Reception was great and the young owner was better than we could wish for.

I heard lots of good things from clients of mine and friends in strathmore, so I dropped off my trucks and both were fixed and better then ever.
Jmr helped troubleshoot ls swap and some wiring, also did fluid change on my f350 which I was very happy with service and quality of work.

Let me tell you, Jason is a life saver. My truck broke down coming back from manitoba to Bc. Jason instantly knew the problem and had it fixed in an hour and had me back on the road and got me home. I wish I had him as a mechanic out here and cant thank him enough for doing it in an hour on the same day!!! Thanks JMR you guys saved my life.
