So much for free nokian tire repair. I was told they were booked for the next week and if I was willing to take the tire off .myself and bring it in they would see if they had time the next day, which when you have a flat is not acceptable as they know. Went to the competitor and they fixed as I waited. So much for supporting Kal tire going forward.
I should mention it was the St. Albert location.

Apparently it's 1950s up in that Garage, when a woman drops her Jeep off, and they think it's OK to phone her husband, to discuss details, about HER vehicle, and authorize work to be done.

Shocking Experience. Manager acted like a complete jerk. Didn't even know his own company policies. It's a long one, but worth the read.
This experience happened at the end of April, so I have been contemplating for a while if I should post my experience or not, but people deserve to know about my experience at this location.
I had a screw stuck in between the tread of the tire and went to this place to have it removed and patched. I originally purchased the tires from this location, so had the "Customer Care Plan" included with the purchase which as per their website includes "Free Flat repairs" for the "lifetime of the tire". Their words not mine. Well, wouldn't you know it, they refused. Explanation was that the tire was unrepairable because it only had 3/32nds tread left. Ok, well the manufacturer of this particular tire says that the life of the tire is down to 2/32nds, so technically speaking it still had life. Nope, they refused. Stated it would be unsafe work and they don't repair any flats under 5/32nds. Wow, I'm sure there is a very high percentage of vehicles on the road that are driving totally fine with tread depth of 5/32nds or less.
In any case, they refused to repair it and told me to get out. Somehow they were perfectly fine with me driving off on a flat. I however questioned the manager since I wanted to get to the bottom of all this and asked to see their policy about not repairing tires under 5/32nds of tread. His response "It's not a written policy sir, it's a verbal policy". How in the world does a business operate on "verbal policies"? This is when he started acting like a jerk and I could see this would not go anywhere so I left.
I complained to head office and someone followed up with me. The guy I spoke to (Area Manger) was nice about everything and said he would follow up with this location and use it as learning opportunity. Not helpful in my situation of course.
I called a couple of other local tire shops and they said they would fix the leak no problem. Needless to say, I fixed the leak and still driving on that set of tires. Planning to replace them when they hit 2/32nds.
I'm extremely disappointed with this location and currently of the opinion that I will never go back there.

Awesome customer service and the prices are reasonable. Wish I didn't have to hand paint the silver wheel weights they put on my blacked-out wheel set though..

Got a hole in my tire, they managed to get it fixed within 45 mins for us! They also have a discount with AMA Members. Saved $15! recommend!

Made an appointment yesterday they canceled on me today. Wasn’t thrilled when I went there to know my appointment was canceled, when my buddy called them to say this is the only tire shop in the city that could do something for my car.

Do not go to Kal Tire in st albert when I refused to move my car because the tire was flat . Flat as in no air in it. The guy in there told me to either move my car or he'd call the cops on me because I was blocking the door to his services that they needed to get cars in and out. Do not threaten me to move my car when the tire has no air in it and it has a leak.
All this for asking for help and you refused to help me??
or you discrimination against woman? Which is it??
Kal Tire is a waste to go too, WORST COSTUMER SERVICE ever.

Kal Tire in St Albert is the worst company I have ever dealt with. We understand companies are busy on Saturdays but these places should have a few emergency appointments available. We had a leak in our front tire and were able to make it to the shop only to be told that they could not help us. We were told that people have made appointments and their vehicles come first. We could not leave the vehicle there as we live out of town and needed to get the tire fixed as soon as possible. We left to find another place to fix our tire when our tire went completely flat. We parked in front of their shop door as we didn’t want to drive the car with a flat tire. We went to see if they could help us and again we were told that we needed to move our vehicle. I then asked if they could help a women change the tire and we would then be able to leave. We were told that is why we should have AMA. I was not able to change the tire as I had knee surgery and could not bend my knee. I was able to get ahold of a male family member to come and help us. The jack that came with our vehicle did not work properly (will be getting a new one) so we were having problems trying to change the tire. While we were struggling to change our tire two employees were watching us from an open bay (with no vehicle in it) and not once did they offer any assistance. I then went to them and asked to use a portable jack so that we could change the tire. They said they couldn’t help us and talk to the people in the office. So off we went to the office, while explaining the situation they again told me they could not help me and I was advised that I needed to move the car out of their parking lot. The male family member came in and told them that our vehicle was going to stay in their parking lot unless they could assist us. Once they provided a portable jack we had the tire changed in 5 minutes. If I saw someone struggling to change their tire in the tire shops parking lot I would not do business with them. I have never been treated in such a manner from a business. I nor my family or friends will not be giving this company our tire business.

Great service and exceptional price at Kal Tire on St. Albert trail. Shopped around and they had not only the best price, but the tires we needed for our SUV were in stock. No waiting. Add to that the warranty and after purchase service and we are very pleased to have purchased here.
