I had an absolute terrible experience with these guys.. I run a business and I was doing an emergency flood call all the way from Edmonton to Calgary because they could not find anybody at that time of night so I was not driving back from Edmonton until 5 o’clock in the morning and when I got to Leduc. I got pulled over and I was super apologetic and agreed to even except Ticket as I knew that was my fault.. as I had missed my registration renewal. The female officer asked the male officer why don’t we just let them off on this one just get home straight and get to the police station within 24 hours and produce your registration.. The mail officer proceeded to tell her to go sit in the car. He then told me to step outside the vehicle. I did not ask any questions and complied fully, Then was when I went to pull over the roads are so skinny there and it just poured rain and it was full of mud, and my trucks are meant for carpet cleaning so they hold 200 gallons of water an extra car engine inside and very top heavy so as I was pulling over, I could feel the vehicle already start to tip as I’ve been to this experience before , So all I did was just so that there was no accident and usually I can drive it straight back up and out, but it was a Mudbog unfortunately. So we had to call a tow truck. They end up calling Oil country towing who first off off my which I’ve never had to do before in the eight times that truck has been towed, he said he had to remove the driveshaft.. and that is gonna cost extra to put it on and then he also mentioned that they’re not licensed mechanics to do that so I should take it to a mechanic shop afterwards and have it looked at.. This I was frantic with rage, but also so tired from my day that I just wanted to go home. When I phoned the next day to get the information they had let me know that my bill was $900 and $75 per day until I pick it up which they knew was gonna take some time as I had to get the insurance papers. I’ve had to speak with them a few times now on the phone and every time I get the same guy who must be the owner or else nobody else would never speak to Anybody this way?!.. he just kept getting ruder and ruder and then he was telling me about extra documents I needed to bring. I also called the oil country on the West End, they also said that’s ridiculous that he’s asking you for that and not the charge would be so high and that they would have any reason to remove any parts… I’m going to get my vehicle now. I will update this gentleman‘s name, but since he seems to run the place, At the end of the day, this is gonna cost me thousands of dollars
*** That is correct it was before the owner did take a look and did agree with me that the guy who came out to tow the vehicle did damage to my vehicle and The reason he was doing what he was doing was because he didn’t know that my vehicle was front wheel drive.. lowered the price by quite a bit and I was going to change my review due to I’ve been long-term customer of you guys due to the damage done and the thousand dollar tow job I was pretty upset at the time when the towing procedure was incorrect.. But you guys do do good work and it is human to make mistakes, although I don’t think it was very professional of you to attack my company and put a review when you’ve never used my service (Which as of Monday July 29 he has put a total of two other fake reviews on just to hurt my business.
.*I am editing this review as per the actions of their manager, Don Realizing the mistakes that were made after the first manager, who was not working that day., Don did a phenomenal job and adjusted his review
*This will be my second edit to the review.. I have since spoken with the owner whose name I did have mixed up and his name was Don and he was the one that dealt with me correctly and treated me well. I am still upset about the false reviews but I don’t think it’s fair to punish the company for possible other employee actions so I am revising my review as I do not think it’s fair to punish a company for possible

Very, very rude phone service. Guy on the phone was very unprofessional and hung up on me after my truck was towed unjustified. They are crooks. I'd use any other towing service over them. Aftwr arriving to get my truck, there was no one there. Called them and he said they need an hour heads up to have someone here! What type of business is this?! RCMP USE THIS TOWING COMPANY!!! Absolute waste and discrace of taxpayers money!! I will be talking to my MP. Avoid this towing company at all costs.
Comment update: Not one time did I yell or swear. I was appalled by the cost of getting my truck back, but wasn't rude until your guy on the phone made a rude comment about "shouldn't get it impounded if you don't like the price". Like no kidding, I am struggling through this, then to have a rude comment thrown in my face? Even then I didn't yell or swear. You reply to this over 3 months later acting like you have a clue which person I was that you screwed around with. And read the rest of the comment I wrote. Rcmp should NOT be using you guys. And after your reply even bashing me harder, I will be bringing this all to my mp

This was my first overly positive experience with a towing company. Marc was the operator and I would recommend him to anyone! Treated my truck like it was his own, he was highly knowledgeable, professional and efficient!

We had some issues with our service van recently and Oil Country was ready and able to get us towed to the service station. We later found out the service station couldn't help us and we needed to get towed again, this time to a specialty shop. Again, Oil Country was ready, willing and able to do a quick move for us to get our van into the hands of the shop that could actually get us the service we need. Thanks!

Thank you soo much for your help...my vehicle was in an accident and I didn't have comprehensive coverage. When I went to pick up the vehicle he was so kind and understanding and made sure nothing was leaking so I was able to drive it out thank you thank you ?

Great guys, incredibly helpful and kind! Called AMA, they said it would be about an hour wait. Walked to a nearby gas station, told the cashier about my car breaking down and one of their truck drivers happened to be in there and said he’d come get my car right away.

$75/day for storage charges out in the open ? 5 star hotels are cheaper than this. Rip off.

Highly recommend, that’s why they’re as busy as they are.

Amazing service, did exactly what they said they would, when they would and the cost was way cheaper than the competition. The only hiccup was when the original tow truck that was coming to tow my vehicle had a flat tire, but dispatch called me right away and arranged for me to leave the vehicle and they took care of the tow without me being present or needing the key. Absolutely stellar company, will definitely use again and recommend to friends.

Shawn with Oil Country Towing is an amazing member of your team. This is the second time I had the privilege to deal with him. He goes above and beyond. Five stars for sure!

GREAT customer service. I had the unfortunate experience of having my car towed as I was out of town for work. I went for a chase looking for my vehicle once I got back to the airport and found out the circumstances. I contacted Oil Country Towing, and Don had gotten back to me at 11:30pm and he had told me he could get my vehicle out of the lot the same night. He took time out of his night to pick me up from my hotel instead of me having to walk, and after a quick 30 minutes, I drove out with my car. Getting your vehicle towed sucks, but the customer service does not. I can't thank you enough, Don:)

I usually don’t write bad reviews but this was something I wanted to share. My car was towed here and it was quite a hassle to get it released. I got AMA to tow my car out of the lot. This company told AMA they weren’t able to release it due to there being an ongoing investigation on the vehicle. I was told by AMA, (not the towing company) I have to speak to the cops in order to get it released. I do so, by trying to get ahold of the RCMP to release my car. I then call this company back and ask if I’m able to pay for the fees in the meantime while I wait on a response from the cops. I am then told by this towing company “oh actually your car was mixed up with another model of your car” so they basically told me never mind it was a mistake on our end. However, they never made the effort to call and inform me about it. Overall, this whole situation was handled poorly, carelessly, and lacked communication skills. AMA were the ones to actually INFORM me about what was happening.. not only was it a hassle for myself but for the AMA driver being sent away and left confused.
