This was my first haircut since moving to Edmonton a little over three years ago. I was nervous to find a new salon but I'm really glad I found Jantia. She's wonderful!
She asked me about my styling, my hair care habits, etc. and worked with me to find a haircut that would support my hair's health and texture. She also gave a lot of tips on how to support my hair which is very fine and fragile. She is also really personable to talk to and accommodating. Will definitely be returning to her. Thank you Janita!

Went in for the first time for a trim and undercut maintenance and was impressed with Janita's knowledge and service. She did an initial consultation and asked great questions about my hair care habits and needs. She also provided excellent hairstyle and product suggestions while taking my preferences and budget into account. As a very nice bonus, got a lovely long head massage during the shampoo and got to enjoy her new massage chair during the whole wash!
Now over a week later and still very happy with my cut and the additional framing pieces she suggested. Will definitely be going back.

My first time visiting this salon based on 5* reviews, and now I see why. I can add my own 5* review. I was asked many questions about how I wore my hair, my styling procedures and products used before my haircut began. I was very happy with my finished hair and was given many styling tips and tricks. In addition to a great haircut, I got a relaxing scalp massage during my wash, as well as a fun chat and visit.

I had a wonderful experience at this place! I was accepted by the walk in the same day, Janita helped me figure out what I wanted and what would suit me. Janita took into account all my wishes, approached the process creatively, used different techniques while working, and I got a haircut that suits me very much! I plan to definitely return to this place for a good haircut and a friendly atmosphere!

I thought I had found the perfect salon since being new to the city & looking for a new hairdresser but sadly I’m extremely disappointed. On our first call she was very helpful, knowledgeable & attentive. Was really looking forward to the consultation. Went to the consultation then nothing. Didn’t hear from her again. Have a very strong feeling I was “judged”. Maybe I’m not “good” enough to sit in her chair, I don’t know. Heres the thing, you don’t know me & as the saying goes don’t judge a book by its cover. You have no clue who I am. But what I do know, you’ve lost the potential of a life long client. And as more of my family & friends move here I will not be recommending they go here.

My ONLY go to place for cuts and/or trims. Even though I moved from downtown to the west-west end I’ll still do that drive, construction or no. Janita is the best out there!!

Janita is AWESOME! She's easy going, def knows her stuff and is very informed on the products she carries. I've been there twice now and both experiences have been nothing but positive. First visit was a root touch up and cut, second was cut and full color. Very happy with both. The quality of hair dye is great too. I have a sensitive scalp and it didn't burn. The atmosphere in the salon is laid back, and inviting. I couldn't be happier and am so glad to have found her! Thank you! ❤?
Edit: I have been to Janita 5+ times now. She cuts my hair according to my curly hair. It looks so good. Her coloring skills are top notch.

First timer here! I am from out of town and was at a loss as to who to trust for my complicated updo for my daughter's wedding. I am super fussy!!! Haha
Janita took time to listen and asked for photos of me, my dress and desired final results. Extensions were needed to accomplish it.
She herself as a person is amazing!! And when she was done, I almost cried! She made me look like royalty!! I can't say enough about my experience. All I can give is 5 stars and this review...I'd move to Edmonton to have her as my hairdresser.!
To anyone reading this and wondering if this is a good salon... 100% YES!

What The Hair is one of the best hair-cutting experiences I've ever had. Janita is a lovely person to talk to. She makes her customers feel comfortable, and she was flexible with time. Also, she clearly has a passion for her line of work and approaches it like an art rather than just a job. Highly recommended!

When I arrived, I was immediately welcomed by Janita’s kindness. She made me feel comfortable, and listened acutely to all of the ideas I had. As we began talking I was so taken back by all of the experience and passion she has behind her business. She paid attention to my style, and asked me questions about my hair routine to find the perfect hair that accommodates my lifestyle, and accentuates my features. I highly suggest listening to her own personal suggestions, as I was beyond amazed with the final product. She also gave me some amazing hair tips!

Janita always goes above and beyond to make sure you’re happy with the results. She’s super flexible when it comes to booking a time/date. I went to her to turn my curly hair from brown to purple and back to brown after a few months and the whole process was really great. She makes sure to explain all your options, takes into account your preferences and lifestyle and is all together just great to work with. Highly recommend!
