Good business, disappointing experience with sales associate...
4 stars because:
- I had emailed them with questions about an online vintage jewelry purchase (from a different store) that arrived damaged and the person who responded was phenomenal.
- The goldsmith's work was excellent.
- The conversations my husband and I overheard other salespeople having seemed excellent.
- I have 2 friends who have custom engagement rings from here and they are lovely.
The salesperson that I received was not excellent. I found and bought my dream vintage engagement ring from an online Canadian shop, but it was a little too small. I didn't want sizing done by a shop in another city, I wanted it to be assessed and done by a good quality shop, not a generic mall jeweler... and due to my previous experience and the things I've heard, I figured that this place would be the best. As it's a vintage ring and not great to size rings a bunch of times, I wanted the sizing done right the first time...
The associate that helped me seemed transactional and disinterested. When I said I needed sizing and showed her the ring, the first thing she said was, "are those real diamonds?" I thought hmm, but responded with, "yeah I hope so... please tell me if they're not?!" (I know I don't look fancy but, like thanks?)...but honestly that was no issue, I don't have to like the person's personality if they do a good job...I have fingers with a bigger knuckle, so it's more important for a ring to be tight enough on my knuckle so it doesn't fall off. I brought a ring that fits perfectly for the salesperson to measure on their mandrel so they could get sizing right. The salesperson insisted that my ring should be sized bigger than the other ring as it was slightly wider, I was like umm that's bigger than the ring I brought in, but then thought ok, she's supposed to be the expert, so said alright can you do on the tight side of that then? She almost wrote the wrong size on the tag, I was watching so caught it...
Bad gut feeling...put it down to the salesperson's demeanor.
I come back to pick up my ring. The salesperson that had helped me with the sizing was sitting at her desk but ignored me. I guess she was busy. A different salesperson got up to help me, she was super nice but unfortunately the ring was a tad too big and she could tell that I was disappointed.
Kicker is that: I chose to get the sizing done here for $158+tax instead of through the online shop which charges $60 or through another jeweler who quoted $100... because it's my engagement ring so I wanted everything done just right regardless of the cost. Maybe it's my fault for not going with my gut feeling and avoiding this salesperson as she seemed not so great, but I don't want to judge skill based on first impression or personality and it's very awkward to ask for a different person to help you, and I would hope that everyone would do the same good job at a high end shop regardless of demeanor.
They offered to fix the sizing for free, but as it's a vintage ring, I don't want it sized multiple times so I will put a ring guard on it.
I would still recommend this shop... but I would not recommend the person who helped me. You go to a higher end shop and pay more when you want high quality service.

Excellent experience. They worked patiently with us to create a stunning 25th anniversary ring, as well as a unique pendant using the diamond from my old engagement ring. We put our trust in Vandenburgs for this important purchase because of their outstanding reputation, and they did not disappoint!

I can’t recommend them enough! I had a run in with some shopping carts on Friday (April 12th) that ended with a broken engagement ring. I went to Vandenbergs after seeing reviews and recommendations online and they took a look and assured me they’d be able to fix it for me.
They were so kind and went out of their way to reset my stone as it had been before it fell out, based on photos I had of my ring.
They reached out to let me know my ring was ready today (April 17th), and it looks perfect. Good as new!
I’m so happy with everyone who I spoke to through the process, and can’t thank them enough for fixing my ring in such a timely manner.

Vandenbergs and Chelsea out did themselves! I went in for a customized yellow diamond ring and used my moms diamonds out of her tennis bracelet along with my own melted down gold. Super special and a legacy ring to be passed down. The ring is stunning, great communication with staff and an awesome experience overall! I would highly recommend them if your looking to customize a ring that’s meaningful and special!

Vandenbergs has been excellent to work with. Debora helped take my undefined, layman, and not-fully-thought-through ring concept and turned it into a stunning piece that my fiancée is thrilled with. I had no prior knowledge or experience with engagement rings or designing a ring and she made the process fun and welcoming. I was asked guiding questions and she was very transparent with why and what different aspects of design could impact. I did not consider going to a different jeweller for the wedding bands and I am excited about the design process all over again! I whole-heartedly recommend Vandenbergs to anyone looking design a piece of jewellery.

I want to acknowledge the kindness and efficiency of the service provided by this Jeweller. The process was quick, and the staff were very pleasant. However, despite the positive experience, I can't help but feel disappointed with the final result of my engagement ring. While the lady assisting me was lovely, the design lacked the creativity and uniqueness I had hoped for. I specifically sought a designer to bring fresh ideas that I couldn't conceive myself, but unfortunately, the suggestions felt generic and unoriginal. Although the experience was good, I won't be returning as the ring didn't capture the personalized touch I was seeking.Addendum:Thank you for your response and for explaining your standard procedures. I appreciate your offer to try again with another approach or designer. However, I must mention that we felt somewhat constrained by the designs provided and were not given the option of another designer. While I don't wish to redo the ring at this time, I do acknowledge the effort and care your team puts into ensuring client satisfaction. Despite the outcome, I value the overall experience at your establishment and the hospitality extended to me.Best regards

We had Vandernbergs design and create an engagement ring and two wedding bands for us. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had a very short timeline to have everything ready. The whole team at Vandernbergs was incredibly helpful, accommodating, and communicative. They were able to have everything done right before our wedding day!We would like to thank Jordan who welcomed us and helped us during our first visit, Guillermo for helping us find the perfect diamond, Debora for creating the gorgeous designs and answering all of our questions, Chelsea for stepping up and maintaining a clear line of communication while Debora was away, and Inah who I met when I picked up the rings 2 days before our wedding. There are other people we would like to thank such as the goldsmiths and fabricators that were involved in the creation of the rings. They are beautiful and exactly what we had wanted.Overall, we are over the moon and incredibly grateful to Vandenbergs and would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for custom designed jewelry.

My husband designed my engagement ring with the guidance and expertise of Chelsea. Lots of discussion on what stone would be perfect. It’s so stunning and always sparkling. I’ve received so many compliments on it.When we went to get our wedding bands made we met with Ralph and the process was so easy to continue the customization.
