We recently purchased a custom leather sectional from Sofaland and upon delivery we discovered it was much more firm (really hard to sit on actually) than we were comfortable with and we reached out to the store to ask if we can exchange for a different style of furniture. We were not able to exchange as it was a custom order. We were not made aware of this policy prior to purchasing. If we had been, we would never have proceeded with the order. They were not at all interested in the fact that we were not happy with our $12,000 purchase. They had their money, that was their policy. Conversation over. I am beyond disappointed, both at Sofaland’s lack of customer service and myself for not asking about their exchange policy prior to forking over $12,000. We have previously purchased custom furniture at a local independent retailer and were advised upfront that we could return or exchange if we were unhappy with our purchase but there would be a 15% restocking fee. We didn’t need to but the point is we were made aware upfront. We also previously purchased custom furniture from LazyBoy and were advised of their policy upfront, we could exchange within 3 days, return shipping at our own expense. Sofaland is focusing on the fact that our sectional is firm and repeatedly said all furniture is hard at first. It will wear in over time. From experience, I know that’s not the case. A tightly stuffed, over firm piece of furniture or a mattress will wear down over the same amount of time as a more plush piece. Very firm furniture will remain firm for 8-10 years, on average, and is mostly due to the supports underneath, whether it’s the frame or the springs. It’s the entire reason mattress stores have a 30 day sleep warranty in case the mattress is too firm or too plush. The point I really want to make here is please don’t assume as we did that Sofaland is the same as other furniture retailers. They won’t disclose their policies upfront unless you ask. When we asked after the fact where we could find their exchange policy in writing, the customer service manager said it’s on the back of your store receipt! That’s probably not going to be obvious to most people. Buyer Beware!

We had an enjoyable experience selecting a new sofa set for our living room at Sofaland. Our salesperson, Prab was amazing. He is so knowledge about the products which Sofaland offers and has a vision of what would suit us in our space. He developed a 2D rendering of our living room with a couple of options. We never felt pressured to purchase from him yet he was always accessible by phone, text, email to answer any questions we had. He also allowed us to borrow fabric swatches to see what would be appropriate for the space with the variable lighting that exists in our living room. We ended purchasing a fabric sofa, leather chair and leather ottoman. Once we receive our new furniture and see how much space we have, we plan to go back to Prab to purchase a coffee table and area rug. We would highly recommend Prab for anyone looking to furnish their living space.

Bought a sectional from their south common location. Nick was our sales associate. He was great to deal with. No pressure sale but informative and polite.
Furniture is high quality as well.

CAUTION. BE EXTRA CAREFUL!
We ordered a new sectional through this Sofa Land location. When it was delivered, it was extremely uncomfortable and not at all like the one in the store. When we called to complain, we were told it could not be returned or exchanged. Trying to speak with a manager was difficult and only possible due to our persistence. They seemed to avoid our calls and were dismissive of our concerns. We are now left with an uncomfortable sofa we cannot enjoy.
DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS STORE. They are all smiles when making a sale, but turn their back when you have concerns.

I was about to buy my third couch here but due to my narrow basement entry I had to get a refund. All of this was discovered through Prabhjyot's careful attention to detail and sheer honesty on what would and would not work. There are solutions but I have to spend significantly more or buy modular. I know I will be back because Prabhjyot is friendly and treats me with respect. No pressure whatsoever! Hope to do business with you soon when the right budget and solution come together one day.
Update 2 weeks later:
I bought a more expensive version of this couch such that it'll fit through my basement (separate chaise and sofa). Thanks Prabh.
Update after delivery:
The couch barely fit through my basement stairwell. Thank goodness Prabh pointed it out. Happy wife, happy life. Best 36% increase I ever spent to make sure it works :)

We just bought our dream couch from Muhammad at sofa land. After we finalized our Prichard we were shocked to learn it was his first week in the job. He was so patient with us and gave us the space we needed to figure out what was best for our needs. As well as knowledgeable about the product and what are our options were We even ran into a slight problem (PIVOT!) with the delivery. Muhammad and management worked by our side to ensure we were able to get our couch into our basement without compromising the comfort and lounge lifestyle for our movie nights. 10/10 will go back again thank you so we are obsessed with our new couch!

Walked into Sofa Land, only looking to see what recliners they had….. left an hour later with a matching set, having them delivered on Wednesday and they will set them up too in the house . Looking forward to how they are going to look like!

Our experience, love the product unfortunately their customer service is less than lacking.
June 1 - ordered 3 pieces of furniture and paid in full ($4509)
June 26 - 2 pieces were delivered satisfactorily
Aug 2 - 3rd piece (sofa) was attempted to be delivered, however the delivery team were unable to deliver to the desired room, or even get it in our home.
Aug 6 - Salesperson contacted me. I asked if they could deliver in 2 different pieces and re-assemble inside home, was advised unable to do that. Asked to be refunded at this time as there was no other piece of furniture in showroom we were interested in. She advised they dont refund as it was custom and would have the delivery coordinator contact me, which he did and 2nd attempt was set up for 8/7.
Aug 7 - delivery again attempted during a torrential rainstorm and again unsuccessful.
Aug 8 1000 Phoned store, spoke with asst manager, provided the previous difficulty, asked for refund, he said he would look up what was occurring on our file and would call me back shortly.
1500 Spouse stopped into the store to speak in person with the assist manager who advised he was unable to help and he would have manager, Karen, phone me at 10 am on Friday.
Aug 9 - Salesperson called at 2:36, again asked for refund as they were unable to complete their delivery contract, she advised she would have manager Karen call me in 30 mins. No return call received.
Aug 12 spouse again stopped into the store to speak in person to manager, Karen. After their discussion, during which she asked if we knew someone they could sell their sofa to, she offered us a 50 per cent refund to cover their restocking fee, which we obviously refused.
Sofa Land claims this item is custom and cannot be refunded. - It should be noted there is nothing custom about this item. They did not have it in stock when we purchased, therefore we were allowed to pick which material it would be in. Unlike the other 2 items we purchased the same day, which were in stock.
Sofa land has our $1741.95 AND the sofa. We would be happy to have this furniture in our home, IF they were able to deliver it, AND SET UP in the room of our choice WITHOUT any damage to our home and/or the furniture, as per their contract, which they admit they are unable to do.
Sadly it is the first time in My life it was necessary to dispute this charge on our credit card. Effective today we have been advised our dispute has been successful and this charge has been reversed
Lessons learned:
1. never pay in full for an item prior to receiving the merchandise
2. Stand up for yourself, do not let the “manager” push you into an unsatisfactory decision, they are not always the final word on a dispute.
EDIT: appreciate your apology however even happier our financial dispute was resolved in our favour as they agreed your “policy” to be able to keep BOTH our money and the property unduly enriched your establishment. Had you been an individual this would have been viewed as theft.

Prices are higher than competitors for same caliper. Shopping for a sofa with a girlfriend is hard, and the older gentleman in sales ultimately chased us out. Could not get away from that guy.

My husband and I had intended only to look. Nick was a great source of information and patience as we navigated our way through. The selection of furniture and the fabrics is so great. Very impressed with sales rep Shivaam. Polite, informative, showed me lots of options, never felt pressure to purchase... but ultimately I did. Won't hesitate to recommend him to family, friends and others.
