With the success of their social media strategy, they become greedier and greedier. They really run it as a business to lure young kids’ money, not a non-profit anymore.
Clients don’t feel as welcome as before; prices have increased wildly.
Some staff never make you feel welcome!
They hide the purple tags and then find that the items can not move off the rack, so they take them out again.
They are not as flexible as other thrift stores on defective items.
The 20% off donation offer is just for ONE item, lol!
The cashier always always forgot to provide discounts on the items that were supposed to apply.

Absolute gem of a thrift store! Great prices and super friendly staff. Good selection of furniture, clothes and knick knacks! A must visit on the thrift trip!

Nice little shop. They have a variety of hard goods, books, clothing, toys and furniture. . Layout is ready to navigate.
It's organized well and spacious enough for a store this size. Clothing seems to be their main item.
Prices are a little cheaper then most places.

I think they have a great selection, however there is so much that is overpriced. I cannot stand when places get things for free and hike the price and this is a place that does just that.

You cannot try on the clothes you buy nor return. So I wasted money there because I don't know if something will fit me if I don't try it on. For someone with body dysmporphia this is a big problem.

The best affordable thrift store in Edmonton. Always a fun selection with really good prices and the items rotate/change frequently. Parking right out front.

This place is cramped and has ridiculous pricing for several items, for example an old windbreaker was priced at $45, with a newer one next to it priced at $15.

Was super excited upon walking in, from what I could tell they had a great selection. Two minutes in someone called at me, at first I thought I had done something wrong or was somewhere I shouldn’t be, turns out they were closing an hour earlier than their website stated and I was kicked out. I will go back to check out their selection, but I don’t appreciate how I was told about the hour change and rushed out the way I was. Maybe they should update their hours and be more kind about it instead of yelling towards people from the other end of the store…

This thrift shop has a lot of older items for sale not newer items like good will or something would have. Seen a lot of childhood stuff and such.

My mother recently passed and I was looking for a good place to donate her items. I wanted to donate to a Women's Shelter or to Ukrainian refugees but I didn't have what they wanted/needed. You see, my mother liked to collect pretty things, and my family doesn't have the space for all her salt and pepper shakers, Christmas decorations, eagles, owls, wolves, chefs, dishes, etc., etc. But I didn't want to just shove them off to just anywhere. I wanted it to mean something. Thankfully, I can do that here. I came to the MCC on the recommendation of a friend who volunteers with the Yeg Water Warriors. She told me that MCC helps YWW as many other organizations in the community and beyond. I Googled them and found that it was even better than I'd been told. I can breathe a sigh of relief that the sale of my mother's beautiful things will go to good causes, as she would have wanted. Staff was excellent and helpful. We checked the store out before we left, and found it to be clean and organized. We bought candles and a jacket. I'm going to be back after I declutter my house to bring them more, because I support what they do. I think I'll buy some of that coffee too. Thanks everyone at MCC for making me feel better about giving away my Mom's beautiful, but space consuming things.

Reading the reviews tells me this place speaks for itself. The people are exceptional helpful, always greeting customers. This store is run by volunteers and a few key staff. Every single individual who works here is caring compassionate and believe in the mission of helping others. It's a delight to go into a retail store and know all of these people contribute to a clean, bright and wonderful shopping experience! Love this store, love the mission of the MCC thrift!

MCC on 149 Street has a manager who scratched our van door while putting in a chair that we did not ask forHelp. In fact we said wait we can do it and then he scratched the door. No apologies and walked away. I knocked on the door, he came out and said that he didn't do that and didn't even use the aide door of the van. I pushed the button on key phob and should him the chair he put in. He responding by saying ‘oh I guess I did’ then proceeded to over talk me ever time I was asking a question. He said my daughter gave permission which she didn't, as myself and my husband are capable to lift items. He then said he was the manager and he wasn't suppose to help. He called us ‘you guys’ and ‘you people’ , not too sure if it was derogatory but he presented as not wanting to listen or talk to a woman. I had to ask him to stop interrupting and talk to me, not my husband, as it wasI who was asking the questions. The manager became verbally aggressive and then started to accuse my husband for threatening him which was a lie! He began to record with his phone which escalated the conversation. Bizarre actions and very stressful.

Has a nice selection of goods, including furniture and lots of adult clothes. Prices are reasonable. Aisles are narrow though so can be a bit tough to get around.
