Took my 2005 Kia Spectra to Lee when the alternator blew just about a month or so ago. Not only took care of my old beater, but didn't try and upsell me or suggest looking for problems that weren't there. Straightforward, honest. What's not to like? As much as I hope I won't need any more fixing, if I ever do - I'm taking it back to Lee. Thanks, man.

I've always gone to Old Li for oil and filter changes, and he's pretty good at those two things, but only those two things. I can't speak for others' experiences, I can only share my own. I bought my Tiguan in 2016 and have consistently gone to Old Li for oil and filter changes. Because of this trust over the years, I asked Old Li to change my differential oil and Haldex oil during a recent maintenance session. As usual, I provided the materials, and he provided the labor.
The first time I went, it seemed like Old Li had never changed these oils on a Tiguan before; he had no idea how to do it. I kept emphasizing that I'm not a professional mechanic and couldn't judge how to fix it , and where the oils should be added. Old Li watched a quick YouTube video without thorough research and then changed the oils. After driving away, my car started vibrating when turning. I initially thought the oil needed to circulate a bit, but it stayed that way for two days. I went to the dealership for advice, and a technician printed out a diagram showing that the oils had been swapped—differential oil in the Haldex and vice versa. I later learned the vibration was due to the different viscosity of the oils.
I bought three more bottles of oil from the dealership and went back to Old Li for another change. This time, I watched a YouTube video alongside him, but he didn't finish watching it before claiming he knew what to do. After the job , the YouTuber mentioned draining the oil from the filter, but Old Li had already finished the job. He asked if I wanted to drain the oil and redo it, but by then, I just wanted to be done with the process. Despite the unfinished work, the car stopped vibrating immediately after. When I politely asked how much I owed him, Old Li told me to leave without pay. I had expected him to offer compensation for the wasted oil or a credit for the next oil change, but he didn't. So, I bore the cost of the wasted oil myself without any compensation from him.
The day after returning home, my engine light came on. After investigating, I found it wasn't related to the oil mix-up, but I had lost confidence in Old Li's shop. I went to the dealership, and they pointed out that the rear shock absorbers were installed at the front. This mistake occurred when my wife took the car to Old Li for spring replacements while I was visiting my parents in China. The dealership technician remarked, "It is so confusing..."
I'm writing this review now because I have serious doubts about Old Li's skills and inexplicable confidence. I learned my lesson the hard way; hopefully, you won't. I still wish Old Li the best in his business.
I have been changing the engine oil and filter at Lao Li's. He is really good at doing these two things, but he is only good at these two things. I can't speak to others, I can only speak of my own experience.
I bought my Tiguan in 2016 and have been changing the oil and filter at Lao Li. Because of trust over the years, I asked Lao Li to replace my differential oil and coupler oil (Haldex Oil) during the most recent maintenance. As is the old rule, I buy the materials myself and he pays for the labor.
The first time I went there, Lao Li had probably never changed these two types of oil in a Tiguan before, and he had no idea how to change it. I also kept stressing to him that I was not a professional mechanic and I couldn't judge how to repair it or where to add the two oils. Lao Li just looked at Youtube and changed it for me without doing any careful research. As a result, after driving out, my car started to vibrate when turning. At first I thought it was because the oil needed to flow and it would be fine. This lasted for two days.
As a result, I went to the 4S store to inquire, and the white guy in the 4S store helped me type out the picture. Only to find out, change!

Mr Li is very honest and straightforward. I hv not found a better mechanic in edmonton so far. Needs a new computer though ( just kidding). He is open to questions and explains everything you ask- rare at other workshops - Above all he delivers as promised without being unduly heavy on your wallet.

Brought my car here due to a ticking/rattling noise I thought was coming from the engine. The guy quickly looked underneath the car and said that "something" was rubbing against the rear wheel but there wasn't any damage. This guy couldn't even be bothered to do a proper inspection of it. I brought it to another a shop that said the "thing" rubbing against the wheel was the e-brake that had popped open. Thank goodness I got a second opinion, if I took this guys word for it I would have ignored it and could have caused even more damage.
