I really appreciate Meals on Wheels Edmonton. My wife and I tried several frozen soups and meals in March, 2024 and here is our review.
We found the best soup was the Beef Barley which I strongly suggest trying.
The Salisbury Steak Dinner was okay but I had to add some left-over gravy, (and peas) from a stew I made because it was a bit dry with not much flavor.
The Shepherd’s Pie was good and I recommend it.
The Roasted Turkey Dinner was also good, however, like the Salisbury Steak, it lacked more gravy.
Keep in mind that if you like flavour, (and salt & pepper) you may not find a lot in their meals and I totally understand and respect that. It’s best to add to your taste anyways.
One thing I did point out to Edmonton Meals on Wheels was the stock photos they’re using for their meals. They’re not showing exactly what their serving and that needs to be addressed. I was told they’re working on it. We found a few of their other soups not so good and were reimbursed. Thank you Edmonton Meal on Wheels for caring for your customers.
For their soups, I would hope one day that they make larger portions and if need be, charge a bit more. Their current soup servings are only 217 grams which is under a cup, so its not much.
The meal portions I found satisfactory and the packaging is well done.
You may not like some of what we liked from Edmonton Meals on Wheels so I suggest you at least give them a try because everyone’s taste buds are different. I’m hoping they make a few changes like the larger portions for the soups and I wouldn’t mind paying a bit more if they do. So far, their prices are fair and once again I appreciate what they do.

I'm a disabled Senior, I started getting Frozen Meals on Wheels Edmonton about 3 1/2 months ago. Because of a failed surgery, I'm no longer able to cook for myself. Meals On Wheels Edmonton has saved my life and allows me to be independent. The food is delicious and very very affordable. I can't thank this organization enough for the wonderful work the volunteers do every day. Edmonton is blessed to have this organization in the community and we all need to support them in any way that we can. Thank you Meals On Wheels Edmonton!!

This place is amazing. They cater to anyone who faces food barriers of any kind. Non-profit. Red Seal Chef meals and a variety of pricing structures depending on ability to pay. $7. For a frozen meal. Order and they are delivered to your home for no charge. Volunteer based. Give it a try.

First issue was seeing a sticker stating the soup has been frozen for just over 6 months. Food handling certification states soup should not be served after 3 months being frozen. Fine, just cancel the soup.Today, a Cobb salad was not edible. BLUE cheese was greenish and fuzzy and had a strong odor of ammonia. It did not just expire in the last day or so, but about a week or longer.Sent a photo to an employee and was told that she says it looks fine. All she sees is blue. The chicken was also undercooked. But, I'm told that everything seems OK.
