The artwork is pretentious and uninteresting, and lacks any cohesion, and the staff are just weird, and rude. I wouldn't recommend this art gallery to anyone, and calling it "Art Gallery _OF_ Alberta" is a joke, to say the least. You're better off just making your own art at home with your friend. It's the same thing, but actually fun.

It’s boring and the art is bad.

A state of the art gallery. Moments made to be monumental.

I confess I'm a big fan of Tom Thompson and the Group of Seven and the AGA did not disappoint. They have a nice collection of other mid to late 20th C Canadian artists that were also enjoyable. The gallery architecture itself is striking and memorable. Make sure you spend time in the gift shop. Edmonton and Alberta artists and craftspeople are well represented with many beautiful gifts available for purchase. I will remember it as one of the highlights of my trip to Edmonton.

This place is beautiful. I can’t speak on the parking, I was dropped off via cab my first visit, and used the LRT (stop is on the same block) my second. The outside of the building is brilliant, and just as captivating once inside. 8 galleries among the 3 floors, and a beautiful terrace with a rare view of the city. There is a wide winding staircase, or elevators to accommodate you. I appreciate how they curate the exhibits, and galas (though I have only been to one). The staff are very friendly and helpful. They have art in all forms- canvas, sculpture, multimedia, pottery, wood, etc. They celebrate artists of all backgrounds and nationalities, with special attention to Canada. The gala ‘Nocturne’ was amazing, I’m sure similar events here are just as memorable. They have so many events and exhibitions to choose from, and appeal to all ages and interests. There is so much beauty and history in these walls. They offer memberships, discounts, and free admission day/tjmes. A rare gem in this city. Will definitely be returning.

I had heard a few different places that there were some really fun features for kids, but this was not our experience.
There are definitely some incredibly talented artists featured though!

Nice art gallery but we are not having fun yet but this guy that works on the third floor keeps on following us and asked my curious boy not to touch any art. I did not see him touch it but he was close enough to the art. The guy called my son “Hey!” and was not even polite to ask us to be careful with the art. He told that if my son touches the art he will asked us to leave. We started visiting the third floor before other floor and we encounter this guy and our moods turned sad and felt disrespected We were not able to enjoy the whole visit. Can’t believe our day went this way.

Got a discount because I took the public transport to the art gallery.
The building is astonishing.
I enjoyed the exhibitions there, they definitely make you feel different feelings. There's a gift store, too, also they have an elevator.
Great experience!

Despite the main floor not having exhibits due to things being set up, I had a lovely and relaxing day exploring the gallery. I was also appreciative to see their quick and prompt acknowledgements of Alex Janvier’s passing.
