I don’t think I’ve ever been more uncomfortable to shop in my life.. Yesterday me and my friend were in shopping at this location around 6:45pm and watched as the manager or maybe supervisor at the time being (BRITTNEY), decided to yell and burr aid one of her staff members for something, while on the floor behind a fixture, the swim be exact. My friend and I overheard what took place, quickly after the interaction the employee (M), came over to the area we were shopping at. My friend asked another employee around us if the other girl (M) was okay, obviously concerned for what just happened. The other employee, ( I didn’t get her name) said yes but something around the lines I’ll get someone and then went over to the cash desk and told Brittney what we told her.
A couples minutes went by and we were still looking around, I looked up and we were being approached by Brittney, she proceeded to look us up in down with her hands on her hips asking “is there a question?” with a condescending tone. My friend came up with something on the spot because who approaches a customer like that? And she didn’t know what else to do in the moment. My friend then asked is everything 60% off in which she got a snarky reply of, yes. Then, Brittney followed up with and I heard there was also something about yelling? At this time, the other employee had now come up, not (M), the one we told originally. They both tried to explain that (M) was having a really bad day and they didn’t see or hear yelling, (but we obviously seen and she knew it was her and was trying to backtrack). My friend replied back and expressed her concern for the employee (M) that was being treated this way, and Brittney really rubbed it off.
We went over to (M) after being confronted and told her that we tried to defend her because we saw that happened and the situation and she proceeded to thank us, adding “I really appreciate it.”Brittney then saw us speaking to the employee (M) and rushed over, so we obviously walked away but were listening to the demeanour in which she would now carry herself in, she told (M) that she cares about her feelings and other stuff. All this apparently after “no one” yelled at this employee, and there’s no blond in the store. Ps. Brittney is blond.
I really wished the interaction ended here but it didn’t. Once me and my friend were done browsing the store, at this point both not wanting to buy anything anymore, we went to the till. Brittney was ringing out the customers and then it was my turn, she made yet another remark saying along the lines “if it was a blond women you saw we weren’t aware of one yelling in the store but I don’t understand why there would be” I just gave her a look because now you are repeating yourself after you know we saw it was you. It would be very nice to see the security cameras facing our exact location, because we both know it would be you yelling at the employee this way. Anyways, I asked Brittney for her name after all of this and she said “why? You’re scaring me” and started to nervously laugh and to which I replied “oh, don’t worry just a survey” and started to walk away and she was all fake again, why lie about the interaction you had with your employee? You don’t think your employee wasn’t scared??? She was legit hiding from you.
This type of behaviour in a workplace in UNACCEPTABLE towards not just the employee but us as the customers shopping at YOUR store. Please start to treat your staff accordingly and proper. If this happened on an open floor with customers shopping, not to mention the attitude towards your customers; it makes me wonder what happens when then there aren’t witnesses. I would love for HR to see the security cameras during this close.

I’m really not happy with the fact that they claim to be collecting donations for the Jasper Wildfire victims through the Red Cross… but they aren’t accepting donations… they’re rounding up … $0.75 cents is not impactful. While in, I tried asking to donate more, and apparently their organization won’t accept more? What a Joke.

I've been pretty unhappy with Ardene's e-commerce site due to consistently long shipping times. I went to this location today to see if I could find some of the items that were in an order I placed a couple weeks ago. The new store is lovely and well organized. One of the staff members, Jordan, was super helpful and kind and I was able to find one of the items.

Awkard and rude experience. I went here to grab some clothing and try some boots, I had at least $150 worth of items I purchased as that was my intended plan, I shop here regularly online or in person, however I wish I could have left and not gotten anything as this seems to be what the lady wanted.Mind you I am disabled, I normally use a wheelchair due to being unable to walk from a childhood injury that caused permanent nerve damage and chronic pain, however this day I did not bring my chair and only had my cane, so walking was Extremely painful and unbearable, but is often the quickest way for me to get in and out, I just took a cab to get there and planned to be in and out quick since I only had under half hour to shop. I did bring my partner with me who often carries me around or helps support me while I hop about, my cane and partner combo = crutches, the only way for us to quickly get around to do any shopping. I mostly balance/hop on one foot. The struggles we endure should be obvious to anyone who can observe their surroundings. However once I am trying on boots, this lady approaches me insisting I start walking around in the boots, I can understand maybe she was trying to be helpful the First time, but I tried to explain how walking causes me sever pain, and she kept going on about me walking around the store to try the boots completely disregarding that I am telling her, I am unable to walk due to pain, after about the 6th time of her pushing me to walk and me telling her I cannot due to pain, she just tell I should not to buy the boots, because it's not worth it!? WTH!? I was so confused by her behavior. I wanted the boots, so I got the boots + my other items. However, it was absolutely unnecessary for her to approach me at all let alone continue to insist a disabled person to "walk around" when they clearly have a hard time to "walk" to begin with I did not need to be in more pain, asides the fact, the boots are tied together there would have been no way for me to walk with tied up boots without seriously injuring myself by tripping and falling.I also had to move a large metal rod from hurting my head that was next to the bench, for some reason they thought that was a good place for a metal rod, I believe it's used to hang clothing, however if anyone sits down without noticing they would smash their head on it. Maybe make your space a little more User Friendly, it is NEVER wheelchair accessible, unless you want us to constantly knock down all the items and get them dirty with mud and whatever is on the wheels. So, we often have to struggle getting around this store in general, and feeling mildly guilty, however we should not feel ANY guilt over knocking down or dirtying items due to your horrible non inclusive store layout, you clearly don't want us in your spaces otherwise you'd make it inviting for all of us. It sucks because it's hard to tell the quality of certain items only shopping online and the refund process is a nuisance._________________Other Suggestions:Stop having stuff halfway outside your store and panicking every time people go near that area to grab anything with their other purchases before paying, like.. the heck. nobody shops in whatever order you think they have to. people shop in lines, circles, spirals, zig zags, you never know, if you wanted open concept act like it be being less uptight. if you can't handle get a different store, bigger one, add door and windows people have to fully enter or exit no stuff halfway out the exit, maybe two stories' w/elevators, one section for kid's, then women's and men's, space for wheelchair to pass between each isle. Also why do you have "Girls" Women and Men but no boys. Can't you just call it "kids" or children? Allot of products that say girls is ok for boys, but some boys feel weird having stuff that says its for girls, So at least make some of it neutral for all kids cause your missing allot of sales for boys who like some of your products but don'

Absolutely rudest manager! I never do negative online reviews, but I could not overlook this experience. She needs to go. Rude, rude, rude. I notice someone else below wrote a review on her as well. Very bad for business.

They don't even deserve one star but I had to do it in order to write this. I attempted to shop here today until I was verbally attacked by three or four staff members while looking at the rack that was halfway out of the store at some bathing suits because I wasn't wearing a mask. They were very rude I was in the middle of important phone call when they all started screaming at me where's your mask?! I tried to explain I was exempt, they told me I needed proof which I was willing to show but as I said I was on a phone call if they had of just give me 30 more seconds I would have presented it to them but because they were so rude I chose not to even bother shopping there and I walked away! You guys need to learn how to treat your customers with some respect!!!

I love their cheap footwear. I don’t love how it’s extremely hard to manoeuvre my stroller down their narrow little aisles.

I used to really like this location because it was convenient to go after work because I work at the Royal Alex Hospital. However I went today to try to do a straight exchange of the same item but for a bigger size and was refused to exchange for the same item. I did not want money. I wanted a different size. I ended up having to go to the West Edmonton Mall location to change for the different size. I will no longer be going to the Ardennes at Kingsway
