Fish selection is very good and very healthy but the owners personal issues definitely get in the way of running a good business... it's almost 2025 and still have to wear a mask ... I drove 4 hours into edmonton to go to this store and was very disappointed... definitely recommended aqau market it's worth the drive

Customer service was incredible. Not only was the staff extremely knowledgeable and the stock excellent quality, but my 1 year old daughter started crying in the store and a staff member came over with a balloon and tried cheering her up. Amazing experience.

I've been coming to this aquarium store for over 10 years now, and it's hands down the best place for freshwater fish enthusiasts. The staff are always friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely care about the health of the fish. Their selection is massive, and you can tell they prioritize quality over everything else. If you're looking for novelty fish tanks, this might not be your spot, but for healthy, vibrant fish and everything you need to care for them, this place is unbeatable. Plus, the prices are great! Highly recommend!

Regarding Treatment on October 4, 2024
unacceptable experience. on October 4, 2024, at approximately 11:10 a.m. upon entering the store, I held the door open for a UPS delivery person who was ahead of me, as she was carrying a large package. she was not wearing a mask. Once inside, as I approached the fish tank area, I was confronted by a male employee. Due to a hearing impairment resulting from my service in the Canadian military, I was initially unable to hear him clearly. As I got closer, this employee stating that I was required to wear a mask to remain in the store.
I had not seen any signage outside or inside the store indicating that masks were mandatory. I informed the employee that, due to health conditions arising from my military service, I am medically exempt from wearing a mask. During the period when mask mandates were in effect, I had an exemption letter, though I no longer carry it, as the mandate is no longer in place.
I then proceeded to look at the fish & other items I intended to purchase. However, the employee followed me, acting aggressively, refusing to let me explain anything & yelling at me to leave the store. I attempted to explain that he was discriminating against me based on my medical condition, which legally exempts me from wearing a mask. I also informed him that he was not permitted to remove me from the premises for this reason. The employee, cut me off and talked over me disregarded my explanation, continued to insult me, & stated that he didn’t care about legal implications, as he was not the store owner. He even remarked that the worst that could happen would be him losing his job, indicating his indifference to the consequences for the business.
During this confrontation, the employee resorted to further degrading comments, including referring to me as a "goof," which is a particularly offensive term in Edmonton. As someone who suffers from Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD), this aggressive behavior & invasion of my personal space began to trigger me.
I decided to walk away from the situation. The employee then began recording me on his phone, & while doing so, adopted a slightly more professional tone. He stated that he would be calling the police, to which I responded that I welcomed their involvement & would like a file number for the incident. He walked to the front of the store, while I moved to another aisle.
After approximately five minutes, I approached the front of the store & saw the employee on the phone, seemingly with the police, as he was describing my appearance & providing my vehicle’s license plate number. I asked him whether he had called the police, as I was prepared to contact them myself to obtain a file number for the incident. He refused to answer my inquiry. Shortly thereafter, two police officers arrived. I met them outside the store, where I spoke with one officer, while the other went inside to speak with the employee.
This incident left me feeling disrespected & discriminated against due to my medical condition. The employee’s unprofessional conduct & aggressive behavior were entirely unwarranted, & the lack of clear communication regarding the store’s mask policy contributed to an already stressful situation.

The staff have been super helpful with getting my tank cycled. They have a great selection of fish and they are just really knowledgeable. One of the best fish specific pet shops.

Not wearing some paper bs mask out of a petri dish manufactured on a floor in India to buy fish. Not an anti masker, and if it had been a medical mask from a medical box, I'd oblige, but community fish water tongs to get that garbage from a sandwich box. Hard pass. Anti masker filter lol, filtered $250.00 right over to another shop.

They try to force you to mask up to just to enter to their store; totally a violation of your rights for long since abandoned narrative. It's 2024 maybe they should stop watching CNN.

I just want to let everyone know that aquarium central is the best!
Any time I have had an issue Twan and his team have always come through. I have never had a sick fish come from Aquarium Central. If there was an issue with a fish they have a generous guaranteed time of replacement. You want good service and help, this is the team to go to, keep them busy. Help keep these businesses going with our hobby.

The owner unfortunately has a bad case of indoctrination; they're still behaving as though no information has come out and Covid is somehow a deadly, horribly disease. I can't help but wonder if they'd not allow someone with AIDS or HIV, or another communicable disease as well?
They're grossly misinformed; and I'd advice they'd look into the governments Vaccine Injury Support program or VISP that is provided to those with COVID 19 MRNA injection injury, as their tax dollars are currently busy paying off those who have died or been injured by such.
I'd also advise they look into the recent statistics that health canada was obliged to provide via a court order that proves that deaths among the vaccinated, especially those who are fully boosted, are significantly higher than those who are not.
May they get the help they need, and free themselves from this mental sickness in their head.

Staff was very helpful! Came in with no knowledge and lots of questions. Now I have a beautiful planted tank. Extremely clean and healthy tanks, fish and plants.
Also, the staff here seem to get a lot of flack about the mask policy - some guy was being rude about it. If the staff can wear a mask all day you can wear one for the 30-40 mins you spend at the store - they even supply the masks! Don't be mean.

Went there a while ago and got some sweet plants and shrimp, good place, lots of tanks and aquatic plants to choose from. They sell frozen food and brine shrimp eggs which was nice to see. Bettas are put into small tanks instead of cups or containers thankfully and staff were very nice. I enjoy the masking rule as I mask indoors always anyways and it keeps ignorant people out. Plants were given a bath in order to keep pests off. Overall a 9/10 experience, planning on returning again, glad to stop supporting PetSmart.

They do not warranty there fish they give you like 5 days warranty I asked them to test my water prior to buying the fish and tell you everything's looks good but then they'll find an excuse to not warranty their fish and blam
e it all on you when the next day the fish died had water tested at two other locations and everything went well. Will never deal with them again I was a existing customer. No more . Hey Spanky for your information maybe if you listened instead of just trying to sell your product does tap water I waited 8 days before I bought the fish off you and I did add enough Prime I don't know where you're getting your information from don't make
what they're doing the cheese slipped off your cracker their Spanky. And this mask thing what are you worried about it was fake news
