Last night i think i had the worst customer experience ive ever had. Ive been a long time customer of liquor depot(now ace liquor), particularly the sherwood park location. Very friendly staff there. Ive since moved to this area. Last night there was a BRIEF power outage at about 9:30. I decided to buy a bottle in case the power was out for a while. Got to Ace at 945. Lights were out but i could see 3 staff standing inside. I ride my bike around the area to see what other types of stores are in the area when the power comes back on. I make it to the door at 950 and knock. The guys inside just shake their head. I point at my imaginary watch. They shake their head. Now, i spent years waiting tables and ive dealt with power outages. We manually take our order to the kitchen. We manually calculate their bills. We do hard swipes with credit cards. Its a pain, but doable. Now, the 3 guys working.... lets just say we all know they arent exactly splitting the atom. Id be surprised if they had diplomas. So ok. You dont want to strain your brain and deal with a computer thats booting up. But heres the part i wont forgive. I tried to get them to at the VERY LEAST, tell me where another nearby liquorstore is so i can head there and they completely brushed me off. It was too much effort for these guys to help a customer for 2 minutes. And for this reason ill never return to ace liquor, any location, and that goes for my friends too. Ive never seen such a poor attitude from staff. 2 minutes is sll it would have taken them.
