Great gear, lots of amazing samples (brand new) as well for a number of very high end brands. I love that i can consign my best condition gear that I no longer use, and can put the $$ towards many of the samples they have available. (Though they will pay you for your sold, consigned great if you'd rather do that).

I honestly can't recommend this place. I wen't there last year to buy my first snowboard with zero knowledge about it. There was not much choice and the guy recommended a Salomon board, which I quickly found out was way too small for me. The board was 4 years old and the price was $550 which is a rip off. My bad I didn't check before going there what are the prices as for that money I could have a brand new board. The thing which bothers me the most though is his incompetency

There are many reasons I love switching gear and highly recommend visiting the store for all your outdoor gear needs;#1 I moved to Alberta recently and being able to purchase gear from Switching Gear has made getting outside for a variety of activities much more affordable.#2 I love the concept of giving gear another life with a new person. The staff were wonderful, they helped us find what we needed at a reasonable price, and worked with us when an item didn’t end up suiting our needs. Plus they have a great selection! I’d highly recommend for any visitors to Canmore looking for gear!

Went in this afternoon with a hand me down used sleeping bag and they assessed it for consignment with a reasonable price and excellent communication about their policy. I would love to see more people support this place. The staff member who helped me today was exceptionally friendly and happy to share knowledge about hiking shoes that I was in the market for. Even though I didn't purchase anything here today, I certainly will in the future.Thanks!

Upon entering the store, I was warmly greeted by staff. Katie was exceptionally skilled in fitting me for cross country ski poles. She thoughtfully answered my questions related to waxing and recommended places I could have my skis professionally tended to. I appreciated their commitment to finding just the right gear for me. I was delighted to learn that I could place my older poles up for consignment.

The store has a sweet vibe. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff and high quality products are placed in an aesthetically pleasing manner.I was shopping for downhill and cross country skiing gear and was pleasantly surprised by the vast selection of high quality products. Just from browsing, the coats and backpacks look amazing too.Definitely recommend! So great to see a local store thriving and participating in the circular economy for outdoor gear! Will be back!

Been here every time I’ve been in Calgary on my way to Banff. Such a great selection of gear and have found some gems (Icebreaker, Patagonia and so forth) The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend if you’re thinking of some new additions to your outdoor wardrobe and gear library
