Our initial experience was good and we leased our Subaru Outback 2022 from this location! As soon as our lease term was about to end, we bought the vehicle. As we bought this about 20 days before the lease expired, we were assure that our last payment would not be charged as we were paying that upfront while buying. Guess what, we got charged. I reached out to Nick (Finance department at SubaruCalgary location), who assured us that we won't be charged and he said we would get the cheque in 7 days (by Jan 4th). I kept a tab of my mails and never received one. I tried to reach out again to him and he never answered his phone. 1st week of Feb 2024, I visited the store and met with him. He assured again that he would check and give me a call back tomorrow to update. I never received this call. I waited for a week and checked my mail box but nothing. I then tried calling this location again last week and Nick did not answer. I spoke with the admin and she said she would write an email to Nick and see what's happening. I asked, is there a way I could speak with a senior person as I cannot keep visiting the store to follow-up for this. She replied, no.I'm now stuck with $500 extra withdrawn from my account and Subaru is not doing anything about it!! Insane how they are so friendly when you're buying and how they change when you've bought and paid.

Our experience with Ben Zimmerman (sales) and Nisar Khan (financing) was phenomenal. We were previously scheduled to purchase a Toyota (waited 15 mths) and the deal did not go through in the end. Our interaction with that dealership was an absolute nightmare, so it left us a little jaded and to say that trust was an issue after that was an understatement; however, from the second we walked into Subaru Calgary, which was the third dealership we went to that day, we were treated with respect and we felt like Ben truly understood our needs with the purchase of a new vehicle. There were no pressure tactics, he was extremely honest and was quite knowledgeable and supportive of the Subaru products. He promised to keep us informed about the status of vehicle delivery and went so far as to contact us while in Thailand and Bangkok. It was unnecessary but greatly appreciated. Talk about great customer service and going above and beyond!!Nisar was friendly, fair and again, no pressure to purchase additional accessories or products. We feel that we walked away with an excellent vehicle for a reasonable price.We have purchased many, many vehicles in our life (good, bad and terrible experiences) and can say that our dealings with Subaru Calgary for the purchase of our 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness is by far the best to date.

Update Feb 24, 2024I had my Subaru booked for a complimentary oil change at 10am today, so I took my car in and got in like for the FREE service. Then they claimed it would be $120-$150 so I had to mention that I have free oil changes included in my car's purchase. After getting that straightened out they asked how I was getting home today, so I mentioned that I would wait and drive home. That's when I'm told that the car wouldn't be done today and they'd Uber me home and back to the dealership the next day. I have a wife and a newborn baby, so I sort of need my car available to me. Subaru Calgary remains a 1/5 for me and I'm getting very frustrated with their services.Original PostMy wife and I recently bought a new Impreza from Subaru Calgary and dealt with Piyush. All seemed good - we got our old car appraised for trade-in, test drove the new car, then ended up making the purchase.We were told that our old car was going to be auctioned with the summer tires, meaning that we had to come back with our summer tires (on rims) so the shop could switch the tires and we would be returned the winter tires to sell independently. We were also picking up our floor mats during this time. After a few weeks passed, we were sure that we could come pick up the tires and mats, so I called many times during a few days and even texted Piyush directly about picking up the tires, but he never responded about the tires directly. He asked us to come in the Subaru Calgary at 5:30pm as he would still be working at that time.My wife and I drove to the dealership and Piyush was no where to be found, so we ended up talking to another sales person. We later found that they sold/gave away the winter tires during the sale of the car and that "they aren't worth much anyway, maybe $200?", while we were getting offers for $400 for the set. They tried to make it up by offering two oil changes for free, but that simply does not cut it for me. They made a mistake and refuse to own up to it.The Impreza is wonderful, but the experience would have been better at ANY other dealership.

Updated review from 2024 (old review below)7 years later and the experience was dramatically different. Ben was helpful, and offered suggestions and provided plenty of information. He kept us in the loop, providing documents and videos we could review at home, to help us decide on a vehicle, as well as all the steps involved leading up to the pickup of the vehicle. After deciding on a vehicle and trim level, the sales process and appraisal was very straight forward and easy going. During pick up of the new vehicle, Ben provided a detailed walkthrough of the cars features and how different features functioned.From 2017 1 star: Go in to look at and test drive a vehicle, and get the 'hard sell' by both the salesman and the sales manager. 'you know this is a popular vehicle, if you dont buy it today, it might not be here next week, you should just sign papers now' along with stalling tactics to try and get you to sign. What should have been a 30 minute test drive, was a painful 2.5hrs of trying to get vehicle registration back from an appraisal.

I had some recalls that needed to be addressed for my Forester. Out of 3 or 4 recalls only 2 were addressed (due to parts being unavailable). For the remaining, I was told that I would get a call for when they’d have the parts in the next week or so, It’s been about 6 months and I am still waiting. Not impressed with their service.
