Very friendly and helpful staff, who will respond without asking if they see you looking for something. Limited selection of some products, like flavoured coffee mate for instance.

The produce is so low quality it’s usually hard to find food still on the shelf that isn’t already bad. Don’t waste your time buying anything fresh from here. I keep thinking I got unlucky but every time I go back either the produce is so on the edge of going off it doesn’t last more than 24 hours in my fridge before bad smells or mold. Photo of some nice slimy carrots I bought today, wish you could smell it.

This store has some truly wonderful people! I can’t walk by without leaving a review, especially for the lady in the flower department. Every time I speak with them, they’re so courteous and always help me find exactly what I need. An amazing customer experience team!

A long-lasting terrific neighbourhood location, even back in time within it's original 'storefront' LoL
But alas due to corp. latest card' program plus likely additional due to post-covid corp. greed' at multiple levels of supply chain, see too many $ increases in product(s?) purchased here in the past !!
ie. A product would restock in multiple quantity in the past when on sale , now when 'on sale', is literally twice the $ it was when previously on sale', so Noooo Thanks (..... primarily to their corp. entity) !

I just moved to the area. Went grocery shopping yesterday at the Thorncliffe Safeway and saw a snack on sale for 50% off so I bought 2 to try. I looked at the receipt at home and found that I was charged regular price for the snacks and was charged higher on another item because the cashier keyed in the wrong type of lettuce. It was a small amount of discrepancies, so I honestly didn't care but I was curious to see how they'd handle this situation. I came back today to buy more of those snacks because I wanted to give them to kids that I know. I took a picture of the sale sign to show the cashier and asked her what can be done about the snacks overcharged yesterday. Told her I have the receipt with me that I can show her. The cashier told me I have to bring the snacks from yesterday back for them to do anything about it (even though I have the same ones on my hands right infront of her and it was their mistake charging me the wrong price). The next door cashier came over and said I was only allowed to buy 6 if 50% off when she saw I had more than 6 today. I said that's fine, whatever the rule is I will follow. In the end, there was no rule about buying 6 max, and they ignored me completely about yesterday's overchage even when I asked for it once again before I left. Didn't answer didn't say anything - she just ignored me like she didn't hear me. Following their policies, I guess I could come back with 2 of those snacks to demand for my refund but I didn't. The amount was small, I didn't care about rhe money, but what's important to me was that I did not feel welcomed or being looked after at this Safeway. Was it wrong for me to buy a bunch of snacks when they are on sale to give them to kids that I know? Or was it because I am Asian looking that they treated me that way? It was literally a few dollars that I lost and Safeway got to keep. But I will not come back to this location by choice. Superstore and Shoppers are close by.
I gave 2 stars because the store was clean and organized. I haven't written any review but this one I had to.

Friendly staff,I arrived 6 mins. before they closed and they were fine with it,I was quick and only needed a few things and got out on time for them to close.
