I hate taxes... but much less so now! I walked in with my paperwork as a first time client to complete my personal income taxes. Mel at the front desk was super helpful and Joyce had completed both my and my wife's taxes in under an hour. She was super clear about everything and explained all the details. I was extremely pleased with the entire experience ?

In the last several years I have gone to H&R Block to have my taxes done and this was the first year I left unimpressed. I received one T4 from my employer (Alberta Justice) yet I was charged for two T4’s by H&R Block because my job status changed from wage to permanent last year. I have same job with the same employer so it was unclear to me as to why I would be charged double the regular amount.The tax expert I received this year also kept referring to me as “my dear” which I found to be very odd and slightly condescending considering I’m in my mid-thirties. I don’t believe there was any ill intent, but it definitely rubbed me the wrong way. I will be looking into alternative tax preparation services next year.Additionally, I normally receive a survey from H&R Block but this was the first year I did not (hence the Google review).

As an immigrant, it was my 1st time to file my tax return via a tax agency, and my agent (Nabiha) is professional and also friendly to explain what it is going on your status of tax return. I will go to the H&R branch and file my taxes next year 100%.

I had back taxes for about 5 years and it became an anxiety area for me to complete. I had mostly personal returns with small business included. I prepared in advance, Richard was accessed to my CRA and...WOW. He is not just a Master Tax representive for H&R Block - He is a tax WIZARD! Everything verifiable, all by CRA standards, he will squeeze every single $ into your return. He is a VERY focused person with his many years of experince, made me sleep well after our completion. Highly Recommended!

Charged almost double what was quoted, did not receive a satisfactory breakdown on paper,just a money grab. Will never go to this location again. Poor communication skills. Would like a supervisor to contact us via email on file.

Ridiculously overpriced. You're charged per document, so don't bring more than one or two. My charity tax rebate ended up costing me more than it was worth, so I shouldn't even have brought it.The person I got was nice though.Edit after originally posting this:The owner ended up contacting me and heavily implied that if I upgraded my rating, they would "give [me] a 'break' for 2019T1 in March/April 2020"; claiming that a bad rating was unfair to them. I declined, and their offer makes me suspicious of the current current 5-star reviews.Edit 3 years later:These guys tried to pull a similar thing with a family member this year. They quoted them one price over the phone, then tried to charge them 3x the price when they went in. I would not trust them. If you go in, make sure you understand what you're being charged for.
