Very poor customer service. I ordered a pair of shoes online that when arrived looked clearly defective. I went to the store to see if they can take it back even for store credit or something. Instead of being helpful they tried to convince me that the pair was fine all while the leather was all cover in bubbles and wrinkled. The shoes were brand new and never worn so unclear where all the wrinkles are from. I plan to never go back to this store, and wouldn’t recommend anyone to shop there. I wish for defective products they would be replacing or refunding rather than making me pay for shoes I can’t even wear.

Great collection. One of the few places that sells Canada West Boots. This is the go-to place for those who are looking for good Chelsea boots

Non-existent service. No acknowledgment or hello.
Was ignored by 3 employees and had to flag them down 5 times over the length of my visit. I then finally waved, was ignored, loudly asked for help and one turned their back then finally I shouted ‘hello - are any of you available for help’. They were on their phones, helping groups of white women who were in store and being genial with them. But when it came to interacting with me a Black woman it was like they were worried I was contagious with how quickly they would try to get away.
I still did end up purchasing but the passive aggressive racists that they employ do the business a huge disservice. The Edmonton location has far nicer staff.
Update : all the details are included in the post, the date of the visit and photo : Saturday, August 3rd around 2:45-3:20 pm

Cool store for casual footwear. Been going here for something like 25 years. Been to the store in Edmonton too. On some occasions, I've interacted with very helpful and engaged sales staff. On others, I've been standing around holding a shoe while they chat amongst themselves behind the counter. Usually, it's the former, but sometimes the latter.
But this review is more about inventory, in that they never seem to have it, at least not in my size (anywhere from 11 to 12, depending on the brand). Without exaggeration, I'd say my hit rate is less than 20%. For a time, I passed this off as a post-COVID, supply-chain-thing, but here we are in the back-half of 2024 and the invariable answer is, "Sorry, we have nothing larger than a size 10.5". When I ask if they have other sizes, the answer is almost always, yes, they are apparently flush in smaller sizes.
So what's the deal? Is it a purchasing issue? If so, then here's a free memo to management and the higher-ups: the fact that you consistently sell-out of size 11s and 12s might be a signal you could sell more product if you simply ordered more of these sizes.
But perhaps it's a supplier-apportionment/allotment thing, which would be more understandable for sure, but weird since I expect the suppliers want to sell more product too. In either event, if GP can't lean on their suppliers to obtain inventory more representative of their potential clientele, then men over 6' tall are increasingly likely to source their casual footwear elsewhere.

Such sweet staff
Friendly and creative and knowledgeable about style and fashion .
I loved how the gentleman who helped me out today gave me shoes to try on and then gave me space to find out what fits me best . No hard selling tactic or pushy attitude but kindness in a relaxed environment
Great shopping experience!!!

Not friendly to the disabled in the slightest... and no compassion for those that are disabled. My wife deals with a lot pain and has to use a walker and there's so many stairs in here with no ramps or elevators that she has to use a cane to get around which takes a lot out of her. However having been clients for a long time she decided to go here. She needed boots so she dealt w her pain. We found a pair but in the wrong color so we ordered boots for her in the right color. They called us a couple days later and I went in to pick them up since it's hard for her going out and all the stairs makes it more painful. However I'm then told it's final sale. I was surprised since it does not say that on the website. I explained that she needed to see them to make sure she liked them and that she was in too much pain to come again especially since they have ZERO accommodation for disabled people. To which they (5 staff) all stared blankly at me like I was talking greek until the one sales girl said in a snotty tone "well she tried them on" to which I had to repeat - since she wasn't listening the first time I said it - that she hadn't seen the colour. Again just stares. Their final statement was that then she'll have to come back in to try them since they won't accommodate us and are enforcing a rule that's NOT on their own website. So I walked out. That a store provides no handicap accommodation, won't help in anyway, enforce rules that aren't on their site and then have 5 staff stare at me and reply with judgement is beyond me in this day and age. We've been loyal customers for over 7 years. It used to be good there had staff that would be helpful in everyday but I guess even iconic shoe stores to lose their way.If you are disabled don't go. It's painful and they don't care.

I was in the store yesterday to return two pairs of shoes that were an on line purchase. I told the clerk that I wanted to look at the shoes they had on display to see if anything else caught my eye. I looked and touched shoes and was there for twenty minutes and not once was I approached by a clerk. There was a young woman being helped and another young woman came in and suddenly a clerk appeared and offered her assistance. I realize I am an older woman but it felt like I was being deliberately ignored because of my age. I finally left and not once did a clerk speak to me. How can invisible staff be acceptable in managing customer service?I believe it was September 7 about 230 pm. I returned two pairs of shoes from an internet order so I’m not sure if you can find out the exact date and time from the return. It has been over a month and a half since my reply to the manager and I have had no further communication with him. How very disappointing. I still feel certain that this is a case of age discrimination. The staff and store have no interest in serving clients who are not young.
