This lady has lost her mind. It would be somewhat acceptable if she wasn't so rude. I don't even know how she knew I parked in the back but she made sure to stalk me down. I lived around here long enough to know it was coming, she danced between.. can't park, to go away, I own the whole street. I am sure she has to own the building the store is in, it's the only thing that makes sense why she is still there. Certainly nobody ever buys anything from there, she chases everyone on the street away.
I know the neighboring businesses all have to deal with her and have gotten used to it. She writes down licence plates and goes to the the nearby stores to try and get them to find the owners, it's insane. I'd kind of like a 1 star review YouTube channel to go find this place ??

I went to this shop a few months ago. The owner was not too bad. We were permitted into the store which was freezing cold and dark. She followed us around and chatted at us while we “shopped”. The store was fairly unkempt - stock from what looked like DECADES ago. I would not recommend purchasing any food items unless you check expiry dates. I ended up buying a couple things I needed - cash only, no receipt. She wrote things down in a notebook. I don’t think there is a cash register and definitely no debit machine. I am not sure how she stays open. Knowing a bit about her situation from previous reviews, if I lived closer I would visit her more often to buy something and check to see how she’s doing.

I didn't even have a chance to go in the store before the owner told me not to take a photo of an empty chair OUTSIDE the store in full public view. I was told "NO PICTURES of the chair I'm sitting here". I might have gone inside but after seeing the other reviews of this place it must be some sort of money laundering operation because they clearly don't want any customers.

Wow.My husband and I are new to the area and are familiarizing ourselves with the various businesses in Mount Pleasant. This looked like a little mom and pop place, the sort of store you want to support. It's full of miscellaneous items: food, antiques, cleaning supplies, etc. Messy, disorganized, very dark as the lights were off.But the owner. The moment we entered, she followed us around, lamenting how no one has purchased anything today. She talked the entire time. Then she states she only accepts cash, which we didn't have. When we left the store, she followed us out. She said we're not welcome back, as she is "very tired, very tired of browsers". She told us to walk away. So, we did. It's no wonder she hasn't sold anything with that attitude.

She wasn’t that bad when I bought from her. Like someone else said she had a sad backstory. I don’t know. But stuff like that can cause you to be like that.

RUDE! Similar to the other negative reviews on here I stopped by to pick up some ice cream and happened to park in the 15min spot in front of this location (which is public parking). The owner came out yelling, I mentioned we wouldn't be long. Yelled at me to park somewhere else, I was taken aback and moved. Overall, I was in and out in less than 15min which wouldve been fine for the original parking spot. That interaction was just uncalled for.

Parked in front of the store so I could pick up a food order from a nearby restaurant. While I was gone, a hysterical woman accosted my wife in the passenger’s seat because apparently she owns the street parking? When I came back, the woman came out again screaming and yelling but I ignored her and drove off. This person is a menace to society and reading these other reviews, it’s clear she suffers from some sort of mental illness and urgently needs care.

STAY AWAY! The owner harassed my family while we stopped to grab a quick ice cream. This person needs to brush up on the parking bylaws and stop verbally assaulting people that park on the street.

Apparently the owner has a sad backstory with her husband passing away or something...that being said, it still doesn't give her the right to go around harassing people who are using the public parking on the street.Just stay away from that stop unless you feel like arguing with an old lady with poor mental health.

like every other review, she was a terrible person to communicate with. She threw tantrums and tried to force me to move my car up to the 2 hours parking zone despite me telling her I was going in to get ice cream for 5 minutes and leave. She looked like she was on the verge of crying so I was going to move the car but then she went "do whatever you want" so I quickly went in and out. Idk why she's so protective of the 15 mins parking when it's public parking...Advice: ignore her and walk straight to where you need to go or park elsewhere because she's highly unpleasant.

Parked on the street to see what's in the area. As we walked by she was writing down my license plate and screaming at me that I'm so rude. I asked her if this was her store and she continued to yell that she owns the street. I would have gone in to her store to see what's there but considering how rude she is, I just left. Multiple people in the area came up to me and said she is extremely rude and yelled at someone for going into her store.

Like everyone else, I had an awful experience with the terrible person who runs this store. She tried to tell me I couldn't park in front of the store, despite it clearly being a legal parking spot. She yelled and was being very rude.

I’m surprised this place still exists. We parked in front of the store in the 15min loading zone to pick up some ice cream. We have two young kids and were already unloading when the owner came out and harassed us for parking in “her” spot. There is clear signage and the street parking belongs to the city. I understand that the owner may have some mental health issues, but that doesn’t mean we should put up with harassment from her. We try to buy local wherever possible, especially around the area as we live close by, but there is nothing convenient about this convenience store.

I’m not really posting a review but just sharing some info. I live in the neighborhood and like a lot of you, have had a less than pleasant experience with this place. I have since found out that this was just like any neighborhood corner store years ago. Husband and wife running a small business and working hard to make a living until a tragic loss happened. I would have made similar comments about the owner, but now I understand. Hope this sheds some light.
