While the work done on my car was top notch I was not impressed by the way I found the interior. I did appreciate the fact that an effort was made to clean the mats and wipe down the interior but what I found was a greasy mess across the dash board, centre console, steering wheel, instrument display and windshield. I’ll be spending tomorrow cleaning it up.

If you are thinking of coming here to fix your car. THINK AGAIN. My car was with them for 6weeks and my battery car is severely dead and warnings are showing in the dashboard. Went to Toyota had it fixed and found out that carstar did not properly reset my car. Emailed them, asking about reimbursement but of course they don’t care.

Great experience with Carstars Bannister Road, was in today over a front fender that was loose, all the staff were super friendly and helpful.Was on my way in 40 minutes.Thank you!

I put one star because there is no option to put zero and below !The most crooked business I’ve ever dealt with. And to top it add the Hearz rental accommodated at the back .These 2 were recommended to me by my insurance company. Turned out that Carstar didn’t plan accordingly and I had to wait for a part much longer than my insurance was covering. I was informed that I have to pay for the rental for those additional days . Even that it’s not my fault and it’s a total lack of planing , professionalism and care for the customer! When I finally got my car back ( returned the rental at 8 am ) I discovered that I’m charged way more than I should be. You tell me how $45 daily for 5 days equals $312. There was no receipt or email provided. When I asked the guy at the rental how he can explain the overcharge he said I’m charged that much because it computer generated(??!!!). I specifically asked about the day that I returned the rental - why I’m charged for that day. Same stupid answer- the computer. When I asked to speak to a manager he almost laughed in my face - I’m the manager he said . I asked about the additional $28 ( even if I took in consideration the day of the return)….. no answer different than the computer nonsense.The moment you confront them they don’t know , it’s the computer .. etcSo I see I good picture of a crooked business, milking you for money .Disgusting!!!!! Shame ! It’s Canada, not some third world country for God sake

had my car towed all the way to this shop, where they refused to take it because they simply didn't want the work. Rude management and employees. But not to worry friends, right next door is Midsun Auto. They're friendly and we're more than willing to take the job despite it's supposed difficulty.

My insurance company recommended this shop after a deer collision.They gave the shop 6k before my car would be considered a total loss.The shop gave several different estimates and did not communicate to me or my insurance company about extended repair times.They refused my car as “non driveable” at first despite my insurance company approving me. I said there was a noise when I was steering and decided to drop it off anyway as I wasn’t taking chances and had to drive through the mountains the next day.They made numerous sacrifices to the repair job in order to keep it just $25 shy of total loss. The car was repaired extremely poorly, and they refused to submit repairs that were evidently from the collision, such as the noise I dropped it off specifically for.They told me it was because the car was cold. Or old. I asked if my car suddenly decided it was cold or old immediately after hitting the deer (this was end of August by the way) and they just said they wouldn’t fix it.My shocks and struts had been done in spring and when I got it back, they’d damaged/loosened a shock that was in perfect condition when my vehicle was dropped off. They did nothing to assist with this. The noise I specifically dropped it off for was still present and was confirmed by another mechanic to be a bent bracket from impact to a deer.They sent my vehicle home with zero effort to fully repair the car because if it were a total loss they would have made no money. They failed to tell me that actually, they were still waiting on a few more parts to even complete the repairs they said they made (still no intention of repairing anything else).They lost my keys as well.They were argumentative and as per both mechanics that looked at it afterward, did a terrible job of repairs and should have deemed the vehicle a total loss. They took no responsibility for damaging the shock, either, in the weeks they had it.I had to go through a field appraiser and another mechanic to get anything done to fix what was left which put the car well over total loss status but it had already had almost all the work done.Overall, 0/5. Poor service, poor quality, I would more likely give small children with play tools my car after an accident than send it to Car Star ever again.

STAY AWAY !I'd like to start with the positives: The front desk staff are very friendly and this body shop gave off the best first impression out of the 4 quotes I received. Their price was the highest of the 4 quotes but I was told that is due to everybody being a red seal mechanic and the quality of their work. For my brand new car I did not want to risk going cheap so I chose this shop.Now for the reality:Right off the bat the appraisal manager looked at my car and told me that I would need a whole new door for my damages, not just an outer shell replacement. I was told that if I only had the shell replaced that they would have me sign a liability waiver as it was that dangerous to drive the car. This was very concerning as this was the only shop to tell me this.Surprisingly when the quote actually came in it was just for the door shell and the molding under the door. This was a bit confusing due to the convicted opinion I had received by their representative but made sense because every other shop said I would need only an outer shell/molding (I turned into a cement barrier in a parking lot at 2km).I was quoted 3-5 days to finish the job after dropping off the vehicle. I let them know I was going on vacation for two weeks so as long as it was done for when I got back that would be fine. After 3-4 unreturned correspondence finally somebody got back to me the day I was supposed to pick up the vehicle. They told me the project was delayed and it would be ready in another 2 days. When I asked the reason why along with several other inquiries they were all ignored and their response was simply a referral to a rental car company. Nothing more.When I finally picked up the car, I looked at my dashcam footage and found that my car wasn't even touched from the 3rd of November until the day I was supposed to pick up on the 14th. They didn't even start the work until the very extended day I was supposed to pickup. Which was an extra 10 days past their quoted finish time.I am also worried how well the paint job is going to hold up with this rushed repair. It was back on the street within 30 hours of entering the paint shop to paint a whole door from scratch and blending the side panels. Even with basic spray paint you need to wait a long time between coats and a couple days for a proper cure never-mind premium paint on a whole door, panel blend, and clear coat with this brand new vehicle.When I picked up my car the front desk was friendly and offered a $250 "discount" for the trouble. When we went out to inspect the vehicle I realized they had put back on the original lower molding that was obviously damaged and didn't fit properly anymore. The lower molding was fully detached and in the trunk of my car at the time of original appraisal so it was very obvious it needed to be replaced and there are 3 sections on the appraisal receipt which refer to "lower door molding" totalling over $250. I let them know this was not acceptable. The front desk asked the mechanics and their response was "The old one looked good enough, we didn't notice damage".They offered to install a new molding for free but the cost would be an extra $450 for a piece of plastic that goes under the door that I was already promised to have included. I sent a follow up message hoping to remedy this and not to my surprise I have received no response so now I am here hoping to help anyone from making the same mistake I did.In summary,This is NOT an honest shop. The opinion of appraisers was extremely inconsistent, the quote was not honest, the timeline was not honest, and the communication was poor at best.By trusting initial impressions and the most expensive quote I received, the ball was dropped in every single way. I've wasted $3,300 cash to get a late and rushed job that wasn't even completed to the promised standard. Now I have to look at getting another quote to finish their job and spend just under $4,000 for a door shell to get done right.

Avoid. Disrespectful and dishonest. Based on the other reviews on this page there is also a better than good chance they will damage your personal property. How are they insurance preferred?

TOTAL NIGHTMARE! I have worked in the auto industry for 20 years. Either they were constantly lying about the vehicle or they are completely incompetent. The insurance repairs should have taken 1 week, and between the wrong parts being ordered, and "Quality Control" the total repair took 4 months. Avoid this place like the plague!Services: Painting
