Building a home is an important decision. My wife and I embarked on this journey with the vision of creating a place that would not only accommodate our current needs but also adapt to the changes in our lifestyle as our family grows and we become empty nesters and, ultimately, retirees. As we began our search for the right builder, Cornerstone quickly emerged as the clear choice. Their commitment to futureproofing and accessibility options set them apart, but it was their impeccable build quality and attention to detail that truly won us over.From the moment we connected with Anne Pierzchalski, Cornerstone's sales, we knew we were in good hands. Anne became our guide, patiently addressing every question and concern we had. She worked closely with us as we worked alongside Martin Polutranko to draft our plans, helping us navigate the complexities of the design process. Once the design was completed, we met another invaluable partner provided by Cornerstone. Bridgett Jessop from Debutante Design. Bridget's design consultation brought our vision to life, guiding us through the selection of materials and creating an interior design that is truly a reflection of our style and taste.During the construction phase, Darryl Binnion took the reins. Darryl's customer focus and commitment to excellence ensured that our home was built to the highest standards. He was responsive to our needs, addressing any concerns promptly and going above and beyond to make the construction process smooth and enjoyable. As the project progressed, we were also fortunate to work with Chris Maloney, who continued to uphold the same level of professionalism and dedication as Darryl.The result of our collaboration with Cornerstone is nothing short of breathtaking. Our new home, with its craftsmanship and impeccable finishing touches, exceeds all of our expectations. Every aspect of the build, from the foundation to the roof, has been executed with care and precision. Last year we entrusted the team at Cornerstone Homes to build our dream home. From start to finish they not only met our expectations but exceeded them. We have been in our house now for a little over a month and can't get over the quality of the craftsmanship and level of detail that went into everything. What really impressed us, was that through out the entire process, anytime we had an question or concern someone got back to us right away and addressed the issue. Justin and Sharon put together a great team that without exception was a genuine pleasure to work with. Thanks Ann, Darryl, Chris, Dylan, Bridgette and everyone else that helped build our house. (5 Star review)We have recently completed our one year inspection walk-through and are extremely happy building with Cornerstone Homes. We only had a few minor repairs after possession, all of which were promptly scheduled and taken care of.The most amazing part of the build for us would be the superior craftsmanship and expertise provided by Devon’s team at Woodsmith. We designed an extremely intricate master closet along with several built-ins throughout the home. The designs required highly skilled woodworking techniques and Woodsmith delivered with the highest quality! I cannot emphasize enough how happy we are looking at their work inside our home everyday.Brent and Cole with Bold Electric (an Okotoks Company!!!) did a fantastic job ensuring proper lighting during the walkthrough as well as offering expertise on electrical placements. Bold’s install and service teams are highly knowledgeable and always pleasant to work with. Again, after one year, we are so glad for their recommendations and feel nothing was overlooked.The cabinet maker, Woodcraft, delivered outstanding quality and service. From design to install, we got exactly what we designed and imaged in our home. We have custom cabinetry with each various shelving designs and options. All the hardware used is heavy duty, solid and smooth. I would recommend this company to anyone considering remodelling or building.The quality of the framing and drywall (Empire Drywall) are what you would expect in a luxury home. Walls are straight, plumb and smooth. We have smooth ceilings throughout as well as coffered ceilings in two areas. It takes skilled finishers to get it right.I would also like to mention the great service and solutions provided by J.P. at Trail Appliances. As we built through the pandemic, several challenges arose that were immediately met with solutions. We were able to move into our home with 100% of our appliances installed prior to possession. I would definitely recommend, and chose, Trail Appliances for all appliance purchases from now on.As for the entire staff at Cornerstone, everyone has been very helpful through the design and build. As there were supply shortages, Sharon was able to sources materials, have fixtures re-painted (as only a bronze color was available) and ensured all required material on site to not delay the build. Justin was able to find an amazing craftsman to build our 6’ cherry wood pivot door which is an absolute focal point on the home. Billy and Dan provided expertise and delivered our home per spec. We are thankful for being allowed on-site walkthroughs during the build as we could see how things were coming together and make any changes we needed (which were not many). If not for Mint Flooring, we would have been on budget per the contract. Cornerstone did an excellent job estimating the build and, with one exception, we were not surprised along the way with unexpected cost increases. Darryl was our project manager and was always available to take our calls, manage the build and provide quick turn around for actions and responses.The only real negative experience would be with Mint Flooring. The trades, especially the tile installer, did an excellent job. However, the way Mint conducted themselves in the contract was unacceptable. After the quote was provided to Cornerstone, contract signed, they decide to issue us a bill for $30K beyond what we had already paid. We were stuck proceeding with this company at the time. Unfortunately, we were ultimately forced to pay this amount. We will never do business with them again nor recommend them to anyone else.

I felt compelled to take a moment to tell the world about how beautiful and how much we enjoy our Cornerstone Home.We have lived here for over five years now and don’t have the words to express how much we love this house. Often we wake up wondering when the courtship will end, but it just keeps on going strong. The craftsmanship, the FengShui, the openness, and the thought that was put into designing this home is second to none. I really need to give a shout out for this homebuilder. Truly a first class business for southern Alberta. If you are thinking about building a house, consider this group. They have made a difference in our lives.Charlotte McEachern

We had a terrible building experience with Cornerstone Homes. We are now living with many deficiencies due to their dishonest site supervisor and some unskilled trades. We have had to pay out of pocket for multiple additional trades to come and complete work and fix mistakes.Everything was an upgrade so be prepared to pay! Unless you have construction knowledge you will totally be taken advantage of. The whole process was financially and mentally draining, we would not recommend this builder and are glad it is over.Service: Project management

We agreed to work with Cornerstone on building our dream retirement home!! From design to construction to lot grading this was a very positive experience!! Justin, Martin, Billy, office staff and contractors all delivered on their part of the project, on time and on budget!! Even extras requested were accurately priced, there were no surprises!! Our lot grading was particularly challenging, Justin promised from the outset that he would stick with it, and make sure we were happy with final grade!! He did that, even though it meant bringing back his large excavator to get to the appropriate grades!! We love the design (bungalow), finishings and overall workmanship!! From the beginning, we had excellent construction drawings and specifications and package inclusions were clearly indicated on their Co-Construct project software!! We couldn't be happier!! I was so impressed by the entire Cornerstone team. They helped me with a home renovation while I was out of the country. Sharon was very professional and offered great ideas, with quick communication just about every time of day. I chose to have Billy act as General Contractor. He an Sharon made sure everything happened on time and on budget. The electrician, cabinet maker, painters, etc were great to work with.I am so happy with my home. I can’t thank Cornerstone enough.
