Beach walk accessible via a neighborhood street. We went with tour guides that pointed out the petroglyphs as they can be easy to miss on the beach. Gorgeous views overall!

Interesting area with extremely old petroglyphs. The tour guides from SeaAlaska were amazing. Lots of great photo ops on the beach! Close to docks.

Go with a guide. There are not tons of petroglyphs, andyou will need someone to point them out and explain them.

Spent some time looking for petroglyphs and found quite a few of them. The park is best visited at low tide so you can see more of the cravings. There is room for about 4 vehicles in the parking lot before it gets over crowded.Restrooms: There is 2 porta potties in the parking lot.

Tons of neat petroglyphs to see if you take the time to look around. Definitely come during low tide! There’s more to see and you don’t have to worry about getting wet.

I managed to get there at high tide, so the petroglyphs were underwater, but what a nice little park. Great destination for a walk.

This park is a short walk from the Wrangell Ferry or Cruise Line. Most everything in Wrangell is a short walk away when downtown. It may be more challenging to get to if you are handicapable though because there is a hill and no sidewalks for some of it. Wrangell has taxi services and of course, tour groups that can take you there. The site itself has a deck overlooking a beach. The deck is handicapable accessible, and has displays explaining the petroglyph. There is a wonderful view of the islands and if the tides are just right, a reef. Maybe a seal or otter will make an appearance. You can see river rats, too!!!Accessing the beach from the deck will take using stairs. The beach is wild so be cautious about slipping on wet rocks and loose logs. You may not want to step on every rock though because finding the etchings on a rock is like a treasure hunt! Some are still very vivid while others are fading. Part of the reason for fade is because of rubbings, so to keep them for thousands of more years, please just take photos. This beach is also famous for beachcombing so keep your eyes out for interesting items; especially as you walk north toward where the old city dump used to be located. Respect people's private property and lives too. If a stray dog runs up to you, that's normal here; don't panic and have a good time treasure hunting!!!

Wow, what a cool place to visit while in Wrangell, Alaska. Absolutely amazing beach as it's full of surprises, kind of hidden petroglyphs seen all over the beach (tip: best seen when raining or bring a bottle of water with you in order to pour over the rocks for better view), recommended to hire a local guide in order to gain first hand knowledge of this incredible art work from the local natives, truly a unique experience.

There is no guidance for where they are. Go right off the info deck about 100 feet and watch larger or flat rock faces. They are spread out over several yards and from sand into water at medium tide. Some get covered sometimes by sand and pebbles from waves. VERY cool feeling to see these. I walked 20 min. from ferry to there. I found them and got these pics in 20 min before heading back. Try to take longer and go at low tide.

So fun to explore, not a far walk from the cruise ship dock. The first petroglyph is at the bottom of the walk way steps on the right.A bulk of them are to the right of the of the walk way (as you're looking at the beach). The famous killer whale, is amazing and impressive. It is on the cut/mowed grass in front of the first house on the right. Behind the long sea grass. Photo attached. So interesting to actually find and see 'letters' or stories from the past of up to 8,000 years ago.Go explore.

Easy walk from downtown, there is a hill but my exhausted 5yr old made it. The petroglyphs are just laying all over, but you’ll see the most if you stay close to the boardwalk. Several of them were only visible once you walked around the rock
