The City and Borough of Wrangell is located in central southeast Alaska in the heart of the Inside Passage. Wrangell is located on the northern end of Wrangell Island at the mouth of the Stikine River, the fastest free flowing navigable river in North America and part of the Stikine-LeConte Wilderness. The Tongass National Forest surrounds Wrangell and offers visitors to the area incredible sightseeing and recreational opportunities - secluded bays, great fishing, whale watching, bear watching, glacier trips, camping, hiking and so much more!
