The prices at Turn A Leaf are true to a thrift store rather than a cooperate “bigwig” making all the money at Value Village rather than the hard workers on the floor.”
“I stopped by this place for the first time today & it’s truly a hidden gem although I am sure many people know about this place and the My House foundation. This was such a cozy homey feeling for me. Unlike the major thrift stores in the valley, the prices are the best you’ll find. The racks are VERY organized and the workers are VERY welcoming and polite. They make personal conversation which gives it a vibe no other thrift shop can give. The three workers on the clock today were absolutely amazing and comforting. Very cool rewards system as well! Thank you endlessly and recommend to anyone thinking about going here.”

I saw that you are starting to price jeans at $20 and up. $20 for one single USED pair of jeans!? Really? When I can go to Old Navy, WalMart and Target and get BRAND NEW jeans for that price…. I’m absolutely not paying that for used jeans. Prices like that for used jeans is a bit insulting.”

When they removed the fitting rooms, I got told that customers could try on clothing in the isles but not the bathroom. They offer exchanges on clothing, but they don't do refunds. And being that the store is mostly clothing, I still have no idea why they took out the fitting rooms. Just a bunch of excuses. The main ones being covid and theft. Like this can't somehow be resolve. Yet the employees were very happy about the removal of the fitting rooms. As far as cleanliness, customer service, and all around visit to the store ... it is a very good store to shop in. However, they did remove the registers. Now it is self checkout. This can be both good and bad for business. The unfortunate part is that a lot of people simply dislike self checkout. Which causes loss in business.
I give 4 store because as good as thore itself is, it still lacks 3 important issues. One is the fitting rooms. That alone is a problem. People simply don't want to have to purchase something on the hope it will fit and then have to keep returning it till something does fit. That alone is a headache. Two, is the register. Many people simply don't want to hassle with a machine. That is why companies are supposed to have cashiers. This is just pure laziness on the stores part. And three, is in all the years I have shopped here, I have never once seen an employee out on the sales floor. Only at the front end. I am certain someone stocks the floor. But you very rarely ever see anyone.”
“I have visited all the Thrift Stores in MatSu and I appreciate their diversity. This store has slightly revamped its layout so it is more roomy with the same designated areas. The staff is welcoming, helpful and may engage in person-to-person talk if you initiate the conversation. Art and unique items are tastefully displayed. Everything is clean. It’s important to me that a portion of every dollar goes to charities in our Valley.”
