I love the groomers, but the store never has enough stock. Pegs and shelves are bare. Whatever order system is used is not working and had been hit or miss for over the last year. Super frustrating....I love the vital care program.

Bad customer service. The employees will lie to your face to get you to buy anything. They went through multiple managers in the last 3 months and they're animals aren't in the best condition either. For example they're reptiles are severely malnourished with way too hot temperatures and extremely low humidity. Along with reading several other reviews even they're dog grooming station is bad, leaving almost a dozen pets shaved down to the skin and really patchy cuts as well. I get they have the couple good employees but that doesn't make up for the majority of the company. They're prices are outrageously high. I'm making it a point right now to go on every reviews app I have to let people know what's going on and PLEASE don't trust they're star rating read the worst reviews before thinking it's a good place to go.

sad excuse for a pet store. you don't view your animals as living creatures. just dollar signs and would do anything for a quick buck. in many cases, selling improper cages/tanks, dangerous toys, dangerous treats, poor quality diets, and pull "advice" out of your behind. I asked 3 employees about what I should keep a betta in and 2 said a bowl, and one said a 3 gallon tank. 5 gallons is the BARE minimum. no one mentioned tank cycling, proper filtration, okay tankmates, heaters, nothing. with fish, you HAVE to cycle your tank for a month to get beneficial bacteria in it for your fish to thrive. not to mention, air pumps for oxygen is required. the bettas are dead/dying and left on display. no room, disoriented by the cup shape (it stresses them out), in ammonia filled water that burns their gills, some with dropsy, and they have NO OXYGEN in there. this is literally animal cruelty. how about the birds? oh boy, you guys f*** up their care just as badly or EVEN WORSE than the fish! so, what do parrots (yes budgies are parrots too) need? well, a flight cage, 5 toys at the bare minimum, a diet of fresh veggies, fruits, pellets, cooked legumes, fresh herbs and spices, grains, and a small percentage of seeds. they also need an avian vet nearby, a lot of play time OUTSIDE of the cage, non-clipped wings (ONLY NECESSARY FOR MEDICAL REASONS!), a safe environment, someone who will love them and care for them, someone who can afford THOUSANDS of dollars a year for new toys, yearly checkups, food, new perches if your bird chews their perches, new things for you since they are very destructive, and they need very specific care which requires 5 months at the bare minimum of research. they aren't ornaments for your house, these are highly intelligent, emotional, sentient beings who need love and affection every day and someone who wont rehome them for being a bird. they are the hardest and worst pet to keep for most people that doesnt need a permit to keep. what does petco do? well, they sell improper cages (Way too small and easy to escape), they sell 95% seed diets which will cause fatty liver disease, make your bird sick, and kill it slowly and painfully. they promote wing clipping which can be dangerous, especially if done poorly. they can fall and break their keel bone, they can get eaten by a cat/dog if they escape and they cant fly away, they can become depressed, obese, develop heart disease, and much more. if your excuse is "Oh it will fly into a window!" put window stickers on it so your bird can see it. don't be lazy and modify the bird. modify your home. its not the birds fault it was brought into a home not prepared for it. it's like someone cutting off a child's legs because they don't want it to run into something. it cripples them and makes them entirely dependent on you to get around. so why cripple an animal for a selfish reason? if you don't want a flying pet, don't get one! they promote unsafe toys such as rope toys. they will chew on the fibers, ingest it, and get impacted which can kill them or surgery can be done to remove it. what about mirrors? creates a false sense of reality and can make them think it's their mate, get frustrated and take it out on you. oookaay... how about those cute happy huts? same as the rope toys. but they can also hang themselves in this or get nesty and if its female, lay eggs and kill herself from doing it too much. they promote bird breeding. nests and nesting boxes are sold here. birds should be bred RESPONSIBLY by EXPERIENCED AND KNOWLEDGABLE BREEDERS. they also promote unhealthy treats/supplements. like the vitamin water supplements or the treat sticks! the water supplements is not needed if it's on a PROPER DIET. and the treat sticks are loaded with enough sugar to give any bird diabetes! now the bird care... okay... the budgies are usually sick or dying. their water is filthy, there are never toys, its overcrowded, they are on poor diets, and they are on dowel perches 24/7 which is bad for their feet. no cuttleb

Petco as a store is great. The rating is for the groomers. The past experiences were decent but the last two times I took my dog for a simple nail trim were not good. She is now terrified to get her nails trimmed and this last time I went shopping for pet food while she got it done. I heard my dog YELP from across the store (mind you she is in the groomer with two sets of doors and glass between her and the store. Go to pick her up and her new harness is broke. When I asked about it, the girl claimed complete Ignorance. That harness was sound and secure and it would take a lot of force to rip the seams with a 13 pound dog attached. Never again. If you can't safely deal with a dog you should not do the service. I can accept if my dog needs to get her nails trimmed at the vet, I'll pay more if that's what it means to do it safely. I wished I had stayed and watched her get this done because there would not have been any way to lie about. I'm sure there are some good groomers here but the one I had is dishonest and obviously didn't give a s*** that she hurt my dog and ruined a harness that cost far more than the nail trim. My husband was with me, he was extremely irritated too.

Morgan was great with my dog getting her bathed and her nails trimmed. I'd be happy to have her do my dog again.

Fantastic grooming experience! I didn't expect such a great job to be done on my border collie with very long fur.

Great place to go for pet supplies and pet advice. However, lately, the shelves have been pretty bare and it's hard sometimes to get the same foods for my pets. Thankfully they don't seem to mind much, but it can be hard on them to have different foods all the time.
