Decent hotel, clean, and good location. The wiifii is not great so this can be difficult when traveling for business, but that is on the entire island. The lobby is really pretty and relaxing! Liked sitting in front of the fireplace and reading. Cute gift shop.

We stayed three nights June 2022. Facility lighting and decor (walls, carpet, bedding) is dated. Room was clean, but one of the bed comforters had cigarette holes. Toilet is super low and short. Extra roll of toilet paper was not supplied, had to ask. Fresh towels were provided just one night. But certainly adequate and in a beautiful location.

Overall, good experience though they do tend to be less aware of additional customer service once your food is out.

Rooms are clean, there is a fridge, and there is cable. Wiifii is spotty at best, but the location is good to stores and the airport, and it is the only hotel that is in the area that is safe and clean.

The outside of the hotel is ok, food service good, friendly staff for the most part. Bad rooms: some of the lights don't work, loose tile in the bathroom, peeling wallpaper, hard beds, nasty carpet, sticky surfaces, my toilet hardly worked, and the list goes on just depends on what floor they have you on. For how much they charge a night, the rooms are not worth it. Also, not pet friendly because they are a "nice hotel". I checked in with a very small puppy, stayed there for 4 nights before they decided to kick me out because of this "policy", and was forced to stay at their sister place called Harbor View where the rooms are even cheaper and more rundown. The unfortunate part is that this place is the only option we have out here.

...is a cool little island in Alaska! You want to get off the grid and hide for awhile? Then the Grand Aleutian it is! It has everything you NEED: warm beds, clean showers, good food and a beautiful view! The staff was friendly and at any time you may be sharing the seafood buffett with a Coastie!. The locals love the Wednesday chicken lunch served in the restaraunt! It is walking distance from the grocery store, the museum, and the bay. In the back is a lovely lake to watch the wildlife. The bar is friendly and after ust one day, everybody knows your name. The town of Unalaska is just across the bridge. So really....what else do you NEED?

Most places in Alaska, just be thankful for what is available. In all fairness, there is lot to be thankful and good to be said for the only game in town. Service. Front desk, wait staff, Ice Cream shop, housekeeping were all friendly and helpful. The room took a little longer to be ready but this may be the standard here. Lobby. It is 'grand' though a bit dated. Plenty of sitting and large enough for an event receiving area. The lobby led to the main restaurant and to a sit down ice cream/snack/deli shop. Location. It is on the main road. It is probably a good 20 minute walk from the airport. Maybe a 30 minute walk from the cruise terminal. A cruise ship pulled in and the road was filled with pax/tourist snapping pics of pristine Dutch Harbor. Across the street from the hotel is the Norwegian Rat Saloon which surprisingly had families with kids as customers. 5 minute was a Safeway. Across the street also was the Alaskan Ship Supply which is the biggest store on island. It carried a variety of merchandise from grocery items to furniture, appliances and outdoor gear. Room. I was fortunate to get a two queen room with large windows that opened up to a patio area overlooking a picturesque bay. The room was large probably meant for a family as it had 2 vanity sinks one inside the bedroom and one inside the bathroom. A comfortable chair and and an ottoman had a great window view I mentioned earlier. There was a flat screen TV that I never used and a small fridge. Amenities. Bath soap and shampoo were dispenser type which eliminated small plastic bottles. No bar soap nor lotion. There was in infusion water dispenser at the lobby. Facilities. I was only there for 2 nights but did get to dine at the main restaurant. Service was great and the food was good and unexpectedly reasonably priced for Alaska. I missed the famed seafood buffet on Sundays and Friday night. I also had ice cream at deli/snack shop. The counter lady was super customer friendly. She had me sampled a few flavors prior to indulging. There was a conference facility on the 2nd floor. Parking was free and self park. I did not see any valet service. WIFI. None provided by the hotel. A third party ISP was provided by the front desk as public service as the hotel was not associated with this internet company. The ISP rates were expensive but handy as it covered most visited area on island like the airport, pier/harbor, the main drag and the town across the bridge. For such an isolated corner of the earth, the Grand Aleutian is sufficient and at least the rate I got was reasonably priced. Will gladly return given the chance.

Considering that this is pretty much the only place to stay it was good! Check in was delayed, but seemed that is always the case, breakfast not able to pre order for room service?? We were on the third floor and u can open the floor height window right up! So be careful if have kids. Room was clean and basic, no soap in bathroom?? Had drunken guests disturbing at 2 am which after I called security finally got delt with, room for left luggage, and bar staff good, only ate bar snacks which were average at best. Would be ok if wasnt $220+ a night!!
