Great scenic tour. Did it twice, once on a Sporty the second time on the softail with my wife. They took us to local businesses one was a coffee house, my wife loved that one, and the other was to a totem pole carver, it was very interesting and informative. This tour was in Sept of 2011.

The owners are great and the bikes were immaculate. Great riding around Ketchican but you can onle go so far on the paved roads. Next time we're in Ketchican we'll rent again.

I am writing this to let our customers know that we are now located 7 miles out of town and will make arrangements to pick them up at the dock where their ship docks

When looking for something to do in Ketchikan, we wanted something off the beaten path, unique and away from the touristy stores downtown. I came across Panhandle Motorcycle Adventures and knew that was it. I contacted Rick and Merri and they are awesome. They set us up with a bike reservation. A week before we left, I e-mailed Merri to confirm and she let me know where she would find us at the pier. Immediately after we stepped off the ship we find her, introduce ourselves and jump in her office/car where she drives out of town to the shop. Along the way she is friendly and helpful in telling us the things to see and places to go on our adventure. Upon arrival to the shop we are fitted with rain gear, the bike is ready to go and it is absolutely beautiful and looks brand new. After a safety talk, she hands us a map where she has carefully marked things along the roads to stop, see and visit as well as a restaurant recommendation, all of it away from the tourist area. We take off on our adventure. Driving to the ends of the road north and south, stopping to enjoy the scenery, waterfalls and ride to Ward Lake. Heading south of Herring Bay we come upon a mother deer and a brand new baby, what a precious sight. We follow Merri's recommendations for lunch and stop at the Dockside Galley, see separate review. She was spot on, what a fun and funky little spot with incredible food. Our time is running out and we stop at her recommendation for a warm cup of coffee on an overcast and drizzly, rainy day. The weather had no bearing on our experience, we had a ball and were dry, warm and comfortable in their rain gear. Taking the bike back we were bummed it was over, we had a ball. She was right on time to meet us at the shop, my husband bought one of their shirts and she drove us back to the ship. The owners are great and next time we are in Ketchikan we will rent another bike.

Ketchikan was the first port on our Alaskan cruise, I searched Trip Advisor on things to do and found this company. Before the trip I emailed Meri and made sure we would have a reservation on the day we would be there. She responded pretty quick and took our reservation. The business is less than a five minute walk from where the cruiseships dock. It took about 30 minutes to fill out paperwork and get fitted with helmets. My boyfriend forgot his sunglasses but luckily they had some he could borrow. Rick set us up on a Harley Davidson Softail Deluxe. For the first our it is $125 and each additional hour is $25. I thought the price was great especially for the two of us splitting it. Geri gave us a map and showed us some highlights to see in town. I liked that she told us about places not a lot of tourists go to. One was a campground that had a stream where you can see salmon swim upstream. I checked in on Yelp and got a free patch also! We had such a great time on the Harley, probably one of the top highlights of our trip.

Rick and Meri, are right next to the docks, renting a motorcycle could not be easier or faster. Ketchikan is known for rain fall and we did find some rain at the end of the day, But Rick and Meri gave us rain gear, so when it rained I was completely comfortable. I always like service from the owners of any business, better than hourly employees. The prices are fair, on our ride we found some wonderful hiking trails, met local people that are sincerely kind, thoughtful and you can tell that they too, want to help you make the most out of your time. Take a good camara, this place is full of Eagles and scenery that you will never forget. This excursion will not be offered on your ship, but you can see them when you pull into the dock, and they are the second door you can walk into off of the ship to your left. If your a biker at heart, you don't want to miss this opportunity. How many friends do you know that toured on a bike in Alaska? I actually owe Meri more money, we came back 30 min. late - but this couple did not try to milk us for every reason that they could find. Instead, they gave us lots of extras that we did not expect and the only extra price was paid with the joy on their faces because we had a good time. If your not into motorcycle riding, it is still worth it to stop in and meet this amazing couple. They will give you good advice for the asking, because they truly like helping people have a great vacation.

My husband and I decided to take this tour when our cruise ship stopped in Ketchikan. It was a lot of fun and the tour guide was great. My husband does not own a motorcycle but had ridden one before. So no matter what your experience has been they will work with you and let you go as fast as you feel comfortable with. We had a great time!!

I swore up and down that I would never ever EVER get on a motorcycle but when we happened to be in Ketchikan, Alaska on a cruise, I reluctantly agreed to ride on the bike of a Harley my sweetheart would be driving on one of the excursions. I've always been a bit of a wuss when it comes to speed and motorcycles are something I have always been especially scared of. However, I'm also a huge believer in meeting your fears head on and so far everything I've tried to get over, I've never regretted. So onto the back of that Harley I climbed and held my breath as we took off to see Ketchikan. It. Was. AMAZING. It was relaxing and so much fun and I'd do it over in a heartbeat. We rode up and down the highway seeing the true beauty of Alaska, stopping by to see beaches and points of nature throughout. Our guide Heidi was a total badass and I absolutely loved how fun and outgoing she was. I've always loved Alaska and the incredible experiences and sights it has to offer but I've got to say that this was probably one of the best. Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. Do it.
