Overall was a very great experience, nice small camp, with a couple small separate cabins. The owners (who were incredibly kind) were actually staying on site, so if any (which there weren't) problems arose, they could help us quickly. They provided us with great accommodations and great experiences. They also used their connections to help us get our fish processed quickly so we could get it all out the door and on the plane on time, which was amazing to have. They gave us new adventures everyday, so you just were not doing the same type of fishing for the whole week. The food provided was overall very good, a nice home cooked meal every night. The staff along with the owners were very nice and helpful. Overall, like I said it was a great experience and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to fish in the breath taking state of Alaska.

Going to update my review, upon further investigation my bad experience was the fishing co not hooksetter. They did go above and beyond to feed my special dietary needs that didn't get passed along. The room was clean, the kitchen staff was

My family and I spent a week here over Fourth of July weekend and had a great time! We've never gone on a fishing excursion before, so we weren't sure what to expect, but Hooksetters made everything easy, comfortable, and enjoyable! We went out on one salt water excursion from Homer and 3 river charters, which were all exceptional. The guides called the night prior to ensure we knew what time to meet them the next day and to confirm the location. There were several changes to our itinerary based on the weather, which were communicated well ahead of time so we could plan appropriately. The guides were personable, professional, and worked incredibly hard to make sure we caught as many fish as possible. They filleted the fish on the river and on the boat back to harbor (ocean), then we were able to drop the fish off at the processors on our way back to the lodge for freezing and packing. Each person is allowed 50 pounds of fish, and we easily filled two boxes with halibut and sockeye salmon. The lodge is equipped with lots of extra equipment for use - waders, rain-gear, fishing poles, coolers, etc. Breakfast is a help yourself situation with cereal, yogurt, fruit, breads, and one cooked item that can be heated like quiche or breakfast burritos. Lunches are packed the night before so you can grab and go. They contain sandwiches, chips, cookies, trail mix, nuts, and bottled water. Hors d'oeuvres were served every night but Thursday, the cook's night off. They usually consisted of a soup, meats, cheeses, and crackers. There were also meatballs and jalapeño poppers. Dinner was varied, with salads each night and bbq ribs, salmon, bacon wrapped filet, bbq brats, and pork loin. There was also dessert, of course! If you're late, the cook wraps up your food so you can heat it up later. All in all, I was very impressed with this location, but the people were what really made it memorable. Everyone was so helpful and friendly, especially for rookies like us. There were several guests who had been here before and were back again, and I can see why. For a great guided fishing experience on the Kenai, check out Russell fishing and stay at Hooksetters!

Took my son & two grandsons on a fishing trip to AK. Stayed at Hooksetters Lodge, and fished with Capt. Glen and his excellent guides. What an awesome week we had. Caught our limit every day except one, and everyone had a bad day that day-salmon took the day off. Acomodations were awesome and the food was excellent. Thank you Capt. Glen.

Great place. Hosts Glenn and Karen, camp crew and guides, made you feel like family. Guided fishing was top shelf as well as accommodations all the way around..

The lodge is great, the food was excellent and the fishing was next level. The guides were knowledgeable and really worked to put us on the fish. I stayed with my brother and two sons and fished for 5 days and caught limits on 4 of the 5 days. They have really figured it out and every aspect of our trip was seamless. Make sure to do the fly in to Wolverine Creek - limits of sockeye within 25 feet of bears!

The atmosphere was relaxed, inviting and homey. Glenn and Karen were great to visit with and the meals were stellar. My husband wants to go back just to sleep in the beds! We had amazing guided trips and met some fantastic guides. We can’t wait to go back.

Absolutely love coming here on vacations. The food is amazing, lodging comfortable, as well as the staff (thanks Karen!). My fiancé has an extreme peanut, shellfish, and mushroom allergy that Karmyn and Heather diligently worked with, he did not get cross-contaminated or sick in the slightest. Most restaurants don’t even pay this much attention. They even offered alternative options too so everyone was full and happy. Love the 6 o clock Happy Hour around the fire and horse-shoe pit, already counting down the days till we’re back!

AMAZING TRIP!!!!!!!!!!
Took my son for his 21st birthday and stayed 6 days with five days of fishing on the Kenai, Kasilof, and out of Homer for halibut. ALL of the guides were professional and knew all the good spots. The lodge was top notch and the staff made you feel right at home. All inclusive meant JUST that. Once you get there, there was no need for anything, because they provided all you needed. Food was fantastic, dinner was all together laughing and enjoying one another. One of my favorite time of day was when everyone got back from their day fishing, we all got together at the campfire with their drinks and chatted about fishing. Definitely the perfect place for first timers like us. There are many repeat visitors as well, and I can certainly see why.
Thank you, THANK you, THANK YOU for the life memory you gave us!!!

Kind of a gimmick.. fishing lodge that won't let you clean fish, & the advertisement was misleading.
