“I used to visit an art gallery in Juneau most weeks when the ship docked (often on a Tuesday in the early 1990's as I worked on cruise ships then). I don't know if it's still there.

It was always a good way to spend some time off (from my busy schedule on the ship). A walk and wander around Juneau. I used to chat with the artist (Weimer, I think was his name) at the art gallery sometimes and bought some art (which I still have). Great memories.”

“My husband and I visited Juneau from our cruise ship port and wanted to check out some local businesses. This was a fantastic shop to hit and we bought some beautiful handmade jewelry from local artists and a painted ceramic piece. The staff was very friendly and helpful and prices were reasonable. I would definitely go back next time we visit.”

“A great selection needs to be had, and that the staff is really friendly. Help me find two games I was referred to overseas which they had and help me understand another game. Great selection of anime, comics, and games.”

“Visiting the Rie Munoz Gallery was the highlight of our trip to Juneau. The gallery is owned and operated by the artist's family, and Juan made our time at the gallery a really unique and special experience. We were able to browse through the prints while our daughter was occupied and entertained by some of the most well-behaved shop-dogs I've ever had the pleasure of meeting! We found the last copy of a print that a friend had been searching for, found the perfect addition to our own collection of Rie Munoz prints, and found gifts to bring home to our family. The gallery is a beautiful building, custom-built and designed with high ceilings and large windows to perfectly illuminate and display the original art of beloved local Juneau artist Rie Munoz: my mom's favorite artist. I don't know how it took me 8 years and 7 trips to Juneau to visit the gallery, but I'm looking forward to my next visit already! Bonus: The artist's granddaughter is a ceramic artist and has her workshop in the back of the gallery; we were fortunate to receive a quick tour from Juan and got to meet Mercedes and see her working on her next limited collection of wares.”

“The "JAHC" has a new progressive young director as of 2023. It's on a tourist track, yet I never saw any stop unless they had an event. I liked the front area where you can chill at the picnic table behind the 2 food trucks.”

“It's a great store with masks and carved bone items. They even have fur skins of traditional fox, beaver and hard to get silver fox for sale. Check out this store with wild animals hanging up on the walls.”
