Stayed in this convenient location for 3 nights in late July. Very happy with the experience and would patronize King's Landing again in a second. The room was small (budget room), clean and comfortable. The hotel was conveniently located in the midst of things, and allowed me the odd experience of walking to a bar across the street and coming back late at night ... in bright sunlight. The person at the front desk was invariably a kid in his or her early 20's who had grown up in the area. They were all polite and quick to answer questions from tourists like me. The first guy pointed me in the direction of a great seafood restaurant where I had maybe the best salmon I've eaten. The place had a down home feel to it and I'm rather surprised by the negative reviews I've read here.

Budget motel or not, the blonde lady working the front desk and owner should not be working in the hospitality industry.

This hotel is the worst hotel that I've ever stayed in. The rooms smell like cigarettes, there is not even soap in the bathrooms, the sheets feel like sandpaper. All of this could be overlooked--definitely budget accomodations, but one of the most bizarre experiences in my life occurred. They had a zero pet policy on the premises, as I keep my dog in the car, which would be fine--I moved my dog and car to another location. But the front desk girl was on some sort of power trip, called the owner, lied and said we were abusive towards her (only one in our party even talked to her and he is a born negotiator), and had the Homer PD come to kick us out of the hotel at midnight--refused to give us a refund on our rooms, which we had 3 rooms for multiple nights, was well over thousands of dollars. She and the owner Wyatt were extremely rude and could not be reasoned with (how does owning a dog disqualify us from staying in their hotel?). STAY AWAY IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET ROBBED AND KICKED OUT FOR NO REASON. Even the police were rolling their eyes at the management--apparently they do this often and then try and bill others for the same rooms.

This hotel was a nightmare to stay in. The front desk girl was unhelpful, completely rude, and seemed to be on a power trip. The rooms stick of cigarette smoke and mildew and they don't even give you a bar of soap. The refrigerator didn't work and was full of mold. The coup de grace was that despite saying that they allow pets, they wouldn't even let me keep my dog in the car overnight. They called the police and had us escorted out of the motel at midnight for the grand crime of keeping a sled dog in a car, tried to keep our money and rent out the rooms a second time! This place is a "burn the tourist" sort of establishment--STAY AWAY!

It's a historic hotel with decent prices, clean and quiet rooms, and friendly staff.

Place is rude! I was denied to be on the premises with my service dog. I’m a service connected veteran and have never been denied so rudely as I did. If your a veteran, dont give them the time of day.

I saw the mixed reviews, but this was a great hotel. The receptionist was extremely sweet and helpful, they upgraded our room, and it was most importantly CLEAN. Alaska has been hit or miss with the hotels in our price range. This was the best one we found so far. I would definitely recommend it ?

Do not stay at this place. The rooms are not clean and are run down. The owner of the building is rude. The girl at the front desk was dressed very unprofessional. We were so uncomfortable with the hotel room and service we didn't even stay. We left less than an hour into getting our room. They would not refund us. But that's ok. But I just want to warn people about this place. We had a very bad experience.

Nice comfy rooms. Clean and rustic. The beds work great. The people who worked the front counter were wonderful, I had an emergency where I need it. Email printed out quickly and the nighttime manager took care of it immediately. I was very grateful because it was needed for the next morning early.

Hotel is old and in disrepair. Hotel management is unfriendly. Charged for rooms we didn’t stay in, were rented to others, and refuses to refund. Much better options close by. Would not recommend to anyone.

We had reserved three rooms for a one night stay as we had fishing charters out of homer planned. Our charted ended up getting canceled due to weather and we tried to cancel the rooms morning of. They said we could not cancel so we decided to head to Homer for the day anyway. Upon arrived we found out that they had rented two of the rooms to other people. Keep in mind they didn't allow us to cancel. So with one room available we decided to still take the room. Fast forward weeks later and they still charged us for all three rooms even though they rented the rooms to other people. The owner of the hotel said he would not refund us for the two rooms they sold to other people and that we didn't get to stay in. NEVER staying in this hotel again.

Great location in Homer. We walked to breakfast, a bar and shopping. Not the fanciest room. Comfy beds. No cups in the room which seemed odd.
