While I generally dislike leaving poor reviews, it's my duty to do so when a business's practices are potentially dangerous for its customers. At 10 pm last night, Enterprise sent me an email stating that they were unable to honor the reservation I'd made four weeks prior due to harsh weather rendering many of their vehicles unusable. They stated that they wanted to give me as much advance notice as possible but sent me this less than 12 hours before my partner and I boarded our last leg to Fairbanks/less than 24 hours before we were slated to pick up our vehicle - and after we had gone to sleep, so we didn't see the "advance notice" until this morning. (Full email in the screenshots.) There was no further communication sent, no steps taken by Enterprise to ensure that we would not be stranded without a vehicle, and no offer of reimbursement to cover the difference of a last-minute rental from a different agency borne out of necessity (what was originally a $505 rental became $1,032). I later found out that Enterprise in Fairbanks does not have engine block warmers for all of its vehicles, which I can only assume is due to the company attempting to cut costs where it can. It seems ludicrous not to have your fleet fully equipped to handle harsh weather conditions in a place that is well-known for its harsh weather. If this agency refuses to invest in its vehicles, which generate them wild profits for each rental, I can only imagine how they treat their employees. I know losing one customer doesn't matter to an agency this large, but out of principle will never do business with Enterprise again. When you treat customers as nothing more than profit generators, this is the end result. I can only hope that other people they screwed over were able to find alternative means as well, as we were incredibly lucky to get the very last available vehicle from Avis after landing in Fairbanks.

When we get to the counter, no one is there. There is a sign that says to go to the National counter for service. The car was very dirty inside. Food crumbs all over and something had spilled down the passenger door. I’m glad I rented an AWD because the tires were not winter tires. We were sliding around a lot.

The service was great, I did not have any issues. The people were very courteous and they had my rental ready for me once I got there. I didn’t have to wait a very long time. Thank you

I rented a vehicle in Fairbanks for a month with drop off in Anchorage. Staff were friendly and had me on my way quickly. Vehicle was comfortable and well-maintained.

Is it possible to have a best and worst experience at the same place? Yes!We initially rented a car for a trip down to Seward while my sister was in town. Everything started alright-little snag as we got a vehicle that smelled a little Smokey-(which you can’t always catch everything, and my party happened to be hypersensitive.) But even with that, the check in gal helped us, and we got a new vehicle and we were on our way…however…TRAGEDY STRUCK! Something popped in the engine and the power in the vehicle basically gave way. We were about 2.5 hours outside of fairbanks and out of service-luckily we found a land line and contacted the reservation desk. They were extremely kind and explained we would have to swap out the vehicle and unfortunately it would take a few hours (likely 3.5 or so because of the time it would take for a tow to pick it up and bring it to us for the swap.) I understood it was likely 4 hours, plot twist, it was NINE HOURS. The tow picked up the car at 930PM-an hour or two after we were able to report it, but didn’t even deliver til 4AM…almost 9 hours that we were stranded, and the tow people who delivered to us were not only completely apathetic, but told us to expect that kind of wait, “it’s normal to wait this long”. We lost our hotel reservation for the trip, we missed our reservation for our charter, and to rebook lost a significant amount of money to rebook. With all of that in mind, Erik, Taylor, and honestly all of the gals that helped at the service desk were extremely helpful and willing to make sure we were able to make it right. We had rescheduled our charter and they set us up with a new rental at no cost to us and we’re extremely helpful and kind every step of the way. For every negative, there were double positives! Slight inconvenience for a few things, but it felt nice that someone was working to help us have the best possible experience when everything felt like it was going wrong. The team at Enterprise definitely goes above and beyond. THANK YOU!

Requested a reservation for a vehicle, to be picked up when I landed in Fairbanks, however I missed my connecting flight, and wouldnt get in until after the office closed, I called the customer service line, and they said that my only option was to return in the morning and pick it up then. When I arrived in the morning, the desk agent informed me that there were no cars available, and there was nothing the could do. I called the customer service line back and they said they would make everything right, well that was a week ago, and they still haven't followed up. Terrible communication, and forced me to rent from another company for 2x the rate i was originally quoted, plus the transportation fees of getting to another rental company. Never using again.

Pretty disappointed with this location. I rented a car in January. I left my Oakley sunglasses in the car. As soon as I got to Anchorage I reported them lost. I received no correspondence from this location regarding my claim. I followed up with several phone messages and received no replies. I would not rent here again.

Reserved a car to pick up when my late night flight arrived around Midnight. The Enterprise desk was closed, sign said to check in with Alamo staff, which I have seen before and no big deal. Go over to the Alamo desk "yes I see your reservation, but there are no cars." Nothing like being stuck at the Fairbanks Airport at quarter past Midnight. No phone call, no email. Left to figure out what to do in the dead of night. Thankfully another agency had cars. Don't bother with this unprofessional Enterprise location, others in Fairbanks clearly know how to operate better.

We had a great experience here. Jung Ames was great, they didn't have a SUV we wanted so she got us a truck.

Tpms gave me warning shown 23 in the left front tire as soon as I drove of the lot, the first agent Jessica was very nice and she helped me pumping air into the tire to about 40psi. However the next day, the left front tire is giving me trouble again, so this is most likely a tire issue not just simply low air pressure. And I have to come back to airport again to change a vehicle. this time, an Arrogant counter agent told me it is ok to drive with tire warning on as shown in picture, telling me it is because of cold weather and this tire pressure system is “inaccurate” because this is not “real” tire pressure, and the reading are not real TPMs reading. So she seems to outsmart all the car engineers who design these complicated systems, how wonderful is that. And she is totally unwilling to help, even though your claim might be true(which is obviously not true), I am not willing to risk my holiday with a flat tire in the middle of nowhere especially in Alaska. Plus as someone who used to live in Upstate New York with plenty of cold weather, I know tpms are reliable even in the cold. This agent is not professional, and even I just got the car for a few hours and try to get a different one with a lower level(from standard suv to compact suv because they don’t have another standard suv available) she charge a full day cost without felling sorry or saying sorry at all, this is the worst experience I have with enterprise.

The experience with Enterprise car rental was decent. They combine the counter with National, that were at checked in.They have posted list of restricted routes such as arctic circle, but I would assume that’s also the list set by most other car rental companies. The car came in fresh and clean and it was fairly easy to find in the parking lots right out of the Fairbanks airport. We got an AWD Chrysler Pacifica with all season tires, which was a huge plus on cold weather. Caution that Pacifica is known for not being to turn off the headlight while running, which is not good for Aurora chasing.Did not have any issue otherwise for the period of the rental. The return for the rental was also straightforward and painless at the airport, which made the trip very pleasant.

I will never book with Enterprise again. I booked a car and set the pick up time as 06:30. It is now almost 08:30 with no one in sight.

It got us where we needed to be. I had an issue with vandalism and they were so kind about it. The coverage I got took care of everything!
