I’ve been coming here for years. Make sure to order the breakfast burrito! It’s on the secret menu. The truckers table is also great if you know the password and handshake.

It’s really your only option in Coldfoot, AK, so we were pleasantly surprised to have such good food and friendly service at such a place. The accommodations were basic and simple Alaska camp style rooms, but they were clean and comfortable. Prices were consistent with “ middle of nowhere Alaska” and it’s truly an experience to stay here.

We are a group of 8 who stayed 3 nights here to see the Northern Lights, which we did. There are many activities offered & we did most of them. The 12-3.30am excursion to see northern lights was fabulous! A warm hut was ready when Claire (who had also picked us up from the Arctic Circle & skillfully driven us back to camp) drove us over & Jack, a very talented photographer, was there w/multiple tripods to help us capture the beauty. There was also a fire outside & warm drinks inside to help us w/the cold. We also went snow shoeing with Don & had an absolute blast! Everyone associated with Coldfoot was friendly, fun, professional & lovely! We had such a wonderful time & felt like family immediately.

The staff is incredible and very helpful. The rooms are small and basic, twin beds and a small private bathroom with toilet, shower and sink. I stayed in February and the room was warm. No wifi but there is cell service. Several activities to sign up for at the cafe. Overall a nice place to stay.

I'm not one of those people who is going to move to Alaska, but I am definitely one of those people who has been moved by Alaska. Travel Alaska will tell you, "Coldfoot is one of the few Alaska communities north of the Arctic Circle accessible by road. The town serves as a stopping place for those driving the Dalton Highway on their own or as part of a tour." 60 miles north of the Arctic Circle I was able to order a vegetarian burger. I mean, how is that not 5 stars? Delicious black bean patty with crisp lettuce and fresh tomatoes, thick onion rings, then the next morning a satisfying bowl of oatmeal, a 4 egg omelet - and coffee. Buckets of hot, satisfying coffee. The fridge has all your soft drinks (and my v-8, get those vegetables!). Oh, and you can get gas, mail a letter, spend the night in a warm bed, take a hot shower, and generally feel comfortable and taken care of. Staff were all friendly, prices were reasonable all things considered. It was interesting to watch the big rigs come and go. I guess there is a TV show or something about driving up here. I don't watch TV so you'll have to pop up here and let me know if it reflects real life. Did I mention that I'll be back? Oh for sure. It's the first time in my life I wish i had many more decades ahead of me, because I would spend them exploring this incredible place.

We stayed in the Coldfoot Camp rooms because we didn’t want to pull our 5th wheel on the Dalton Highway (a good decision). If you aren’t camping, the only accommodations along the Dalton Highway between Fairbanks and Deadhorse is the Coldfoot Camp at Coldfoot, AK.The camp is a remaining part of the huge Coldfoot Camp that housed workers on the construction of the Alaska Pipeline in the 1970’s. The camp has undoubtedly been upgraded through the years but it it is past its economic life. The beds and bathrooms were clean and heat worked but all the rest wasn’t something you would choose if had a choice. There is a cafe across the road but again isn’t something you would choose if you had a choice. All that said the Dalton Highway was a beautiful drive and worth the stay at Coldfoot Camp.

A haven of peace on the Dalton Highway. Food is at a normal rate, incredibly welcome in such a remote place. Free tent camping on good grass (noisy though, there’s traffic 24/7 in the summer) so it’s even better for a good night off. Staff is welcoming and understanding. Wifi is extra but unlimited and correct in terms of speed. Nothing in terms of groceries, a few candy bars but not enough to make it to Fairbanks in case of you running out of food. I would definitely try to make it a stop for the night for cyclists, maybe a rest day even because of the good visitor center on the other side of the road.
