Half the things you are paying for don't work.. each club has issues.. they lied when I signed up.. I told them I was going to be moving I was just staying with family and I didn't want to sign a contract so I paid extra money to not be in a contract..and then when I tried to leave they held me to contract standards and made me give a 60-day written notice. They also took money out of the bank account for the 60 days and are holding me to that pay.. telling me I didn't have it writing.I tried to use the tanning facilities 5 separate times I would dress down get in the bed it wouldn't work get dressed go ask for help and it still wouldn't work. Sometimes the steam room works sometimes it doesn't sometimes the sauna room is hot sometimes it's not. I have tried several locations they all have issues. People are using the steam room when they're sick so I got really sick. The drains are full of hair and skin. No one follows the rules kids are running all over an adult only areas. They don't open early on weekends you can only use the pools when they're staffed hours if there's kids using the pool for swimming parties you're not allowed in if you get off work at 6:00 p.m. there's nowhere for you to swim at the east club because they have open swim for kids.. I recommend and should have followed my instincts and just paid 25 bucks a month at planet fitness... Save yourself some time and $$$ and headaches. They don't keep their word the accounting is never correct.... update ...After receiving this review.. they decided to honor the original agreement and let me go without the 60 days and refunded our $$ THANK YOU!!!

Went to Eagle River Alaska Club with my friend who was stopping in to cancel his membership because he said the Management was terrible and the clubs were gross and disappointing time after time and was sick of wasting money. Then we went in and this super pretty lady was totally in the middle of fixing something and I said wow, thats one good looking handyman! An employee went and talked to her and she actually stopped what she was doing and came over to talk to us, she gave us each a really impressive handshake and introduced herself as the new General Manager, WOW! She was really cool and was very concerned about my friend who was going to cancel, but she didn't say oh don't cancel or anything instead she asked if we had a few minutes so she could walk around with us and bget our feedback and wanted to show us everything, she totally made us feel like we were rockstars and my friend couldn't believe how different the place was cause he had been there a few months ago and it was bad and dirty and nothing worked right and staff was didn't care and management just blamed the higher ups. But he said he was so shocked and I had only been to the other clubs a couple times and I was not happy, but this place was awesome and everyone working was super nice and you could tell they really like working there and I asked some of them about the place and they said it was really cool and really nice cause the new General Manager was super businessy but cool too and really trying to make it way better. So my friend didn't cancel his membership and I signed up and she didn't even try to make us which was really cool. Looking forward to getting in shape and hopefully while getting to watch the pretty lady boss fix stuff that was cool! Not alot of chicks are bosses so kinda really cool and unique.

Update 2/6/2024...1 stars....After all this time I have not complained or had problems with this club, even when the hot tub was down. I honestly hate to give this review, but it would be horrible not to say anything. I haven't been here in a while, so to come back and find out that the woman's locker room handicap shower bearly has any pressure at all was very discerning. As soon as someone turned on the shower it dropped the temp and pressure even lower than it started at/ was. Very big sad face. The the shower next too it has been down now for months, for sure we'll over 4. The drains are clogged/dirty with alot of residue in there to the extent where you can tell noone has been cleaning it lately or someone is that nasty to leave that kinda residue which appeared to be slimy, thick, and possible lent and other things whichis wild to me. I've never seen the showers like this here. The hot tub was down last time I was here. So when i came today it was finally working, yes!!! But it's Luke warm, like bath tub water. When I seen the lady who was checking on the systems (where the door is next to the hot tub), I mentioned it to her. At first she ignored me to the extent the people in the tub could hear me and was watching but she just continue to not acknowledge me. I then said miss 3 to 4 times loudly as she tried to walk off. Once she realized I was talking to her I asked her about the hot tub being cold. she said in response she would have to test it. I then literally spashed water on my face as walked straight off and out the side door to the gym before she could hear me ask her about the pressure in the showers. I literally as i wiped off my face looked to her she was already by the mens locker room close to that door. The people in the tub just watched as this all just happened, it's been over 45 min now and the pool is getting ready to close. Never seen her test the water, not for ph or temp. Ive never had someone be so disrespectful and disregard when someone is talking to you. I'm really disappointed, what happened to eagle river alaska club? Please do better!!!! It feels as if there is cold water being into the hot tub next to the jets under the disable chair. By the time it took me to write this the pool is now closing and she never came back. Please fix this....Update 10/27/2022...Amazing.... 5 stars....Update : 9/20/2022...Getting better... 4 stars....

I've been a member for quite a while. Your place is alwas clean and in good repair. The staff is not only friendly but helpful. We bring our grandsons and they love the gym and the playroom. My wife likes to do the rack and the upstairs machines. I used to do the track a lo until "old' age" issues makes that kind of uncomfortable. My only compaint is that I don't get there as often as I use to. I do question as to what happened to the Netflix, etc. on the machines. I'm pretty much relagated to things like the recumbent bike, except for the short term equipment. I'm disappointed that that service has disappeared.

I recently embarked on a fitness journey with Personal Trainer James Mamone, and it's been nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I walked into the gym, James exuded professionalism, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for helping others achieve their fitness goals.

James was so helpful!! Although he is a new personal trainer, he is knowledgeable, friendly, and lets you know he and the team are available to answer/help with any future inquiries or personal training needs.

As a 20 plus year member of the Alaskan Club, these past few months have been the worst for maintenance and cleanness ….BY FAR!!!My visit today started by walking into a dirty men’s locker room. Secondly, there wasn’t ANY towels to be found; I called the front desk from the locker room to request towels to shower. 20 minutes later still no towels!!! First two shower stalls entered had NO soap. Showered without towels and headed to the Hot-tub only to find the Hot Tub wasn’t working; AGAIN!!!During the past 6 months; if the hot tub is working for at least a week out of the month, that’s a good month.Members have been speaking about the above among ourselves. Leadership needs to address the challenges here with actions and not nice replies.

Can only really attest to the quality of the locker rooms and pool area, but those are very nice. Kids' play area fantastic for littles. Only real complaint is a sub-par hot tub.

The staff is 5 stars. Only improvement I would like to see is better policing in the hot tub and some upgrades to the weight equipment.

Do not trust your children in the play center! One of the attendants in there is a corrupt and violent security guard at alaska regional hospital. I saw him use unnecessary violence on 2 people! The first time I saw him in the ER I saw him grab an old man and throw him into a wheelchair then dump him by the sidewalk out in the cold just for having an attitude with him. Today I saw the same man grab an obviously mentally handicapped patient and painfully restrained her arm behind her back with one hand and bent her forward with the other hand forced her into her room while she was screaming in pain and begging for him to let go! I've contacted the hospital, The Alaska Club, and even the police about this man's behavior and nothing seems to have been done. This man is dangerous and yet is trusted to look after children!
