“The deli worker was pleasant to talk to and gave me prompt service. The checkout lady and the gentleman bagger were fantastic as well. Love the Eagle River Fred Meyers!!!!”
“Carr's is a previously familiar owned group of Alaskan stores that provided premium products and service to Alaskans for years. A few years ago the Carr-Gottstien family sold all their stores to the Safeway chain. Safeway kept the names for many of the Alaska stores and have continued the Carr's tradition of excellence. Their main competitors are Costco, Fred Meyers and Three Bears stores.Carr's is known for their fresh produce and fruits as well as their meat and fish. Carr's is a truly excellent store with friendly employees and reasonable prices in a highly competitive market in Alaska.I have left many smaller and truly fine grocery and specialty stores out of this review as it is about Carr's and not all of the markets. Many are equal to Carr's and some provide the unique needs of Alaskans.”
“CARRS grocery store in Eagle River is a nice place to shop. They always seem to have whatever I’m looking for, especially when the other stores don’t have it. I’ve heard people say that their stuff is to expensive, but is it really. Their fruits and vegetables seem to last way longer than the stuff from other cheap grocery stores. Kind of hard to beat their quality.”
“Today, I shopped for Alaska souvenirs here. I found a sweatshirt in medium, tea towel, magnet, tshirt for my son and a few other things. Prices are cheaper here. In Alaska, they have no awful plastic bags. Thank You for caring about the environment.”

“This is the WalMart nearest our home, so it is the one I have most frequently visited. It is always clean and the workers are well-trained, cheerful, friendly, ad very efficient. Just before Christmas I wanted to buy some small containers of PlayDoh as stocking stuffers. There were huge bins of it, one labeled 50 cents and the other bins labeled 56 cents! I took a cell phone shot of the 50-cent bin and had no problem at the register when the Play Doh rang up at 56 cents. (No need for calling a manager over, filling in paperwork, etc.) If I can't find something, the nearest floor worker always points out the general direction and makes sure I know where to go, or else walks me right to the item. It's a great store!”

13401 Old Glenn Hwy, Eagle River“I shopped here on my own before hiking. I found a few Alaska souvenirs. Kinda spendy here, so waited to buy at Walmart. Found cheap bagged salads here. Also 2 day of the dead skull tins with smarties inside for $1 each. Saw more unique items such as Alaskan popcorn company. There are no plastic bags in this part of Alaska. Yes! Please get rid of these in MN please! They charge for a paper bag, but girl helping said the small paper ones are free.”

“The hypermarket is a little better than Walmart in terms of the abundance of food, but the prices are a little higher. For a dollar or two. But you can find beets for borscht that are not available in other stores”
