Worked with Marcel the last few weeks, ABSOLUTE LEGEND! When other places turned me away, he found A WAY to help me out and make it work. Thank you for having empathy and logic and reason Marcel! Won't ever rent a vehicle from anyone else!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. We booked a car for 9 days on their website ($34.50/day), choosing the liability insurance (optional on the website) which cost $12.99/day. At that moment, Thriffty emailed us confirming our reservation without mentioning anything else. Our surprise was when we arrived at the agency and the guy told us that we should pay for all the insurances they had; $59.99/day for the protection car, $12.99/day for the liability and $6.99/day for the medical. In total more than $700 for the insurances when the car cost $300 for 9 days. There was no option to avoid it. We talked to the manager and he assured this policy is going on for more than 40 years, but it's not said anywhere. Thanks for ruining the start of our honey moon. PS: the guy couldn't find the compulsory to take all the insurances on the terms and conditions document.

Overpriced, was not made aware of the 15% off first time customer deal, and also was offered the prepaid “discount” without know what that actually entailed. Returned car with over a quarter tank thinking they’d charge me the price to fill up 3/4 tank, but they charged the cost of a full tank. Not a huge difference, but they didn’t tell me that when booking.

I've only dealt with them on the phone, but getting information from them was like pulling teeth. That's when I FINALLY got someone to answer the phone. Then found out it would be well over $1,000 to rent a car for a week. And they call themselves THRIFTY Car Rental. Ridiculous.

Surprisingly poor customer service experience with Brett, who was unnecessarily aggressive. I have rented from this location many times in the past and had positive interactions. Brett has a lot of room for improvement. Arika

Maurice was very kind and explained they required a credit card not just a debit card to rent a car. Also you needed a return flight ticket where your itinerary departure date matched your rental return date. Can you say "No locals need apply?" I knew you could.

Website advertising stated shuttle service. They refused to pick me up at the airport, counter sales said they couldn't pick up there with their shuttle, ended up paying for a taxi for 2.6 miles just to get my rental car.

We picked the car up at the airport. If you're thinking about renting from the airport, avoid it. After a long flight you won't want to deal with any grumpy staff there. We dropped the car off at the Spenard location and had a completely opposite experience from Marcel, agent #2111. I asked his agent number and name because we were so impressed with his customer service. He had the "no worries" attitude. As we turned to leave, with one hand on the door, he asked if we had a ride? I was going to call Uber once I got out of the store. In a matter of minutes, we were on the shuttle back towards our hotel. He's a blessing and an asset and definitely a keeper. This place is about 6 mins from the airport and they will pick you up. You will also then not have to pay for the airport concession fees and the airport vehicle pickup and return fee. I will not think twice about renting from this location again. FYI, both locations are owned by the same company, Floyd and Sons, Inc. They also do the rentals for Hertz and I think Enterprise and Dollar.

We rented a car for 3 days for a trip up to Denali. We had to return the car by 2pm and when I spoke to someone on the phone to extend the time they told me I could do it when we picked up the car. When I got there they told me they would charge $60 for 2 hours so we just decided to add the extra day for $100. I asked about refilling for gas and she told me I could drop it off empty and there is no charge. We dropped the car off in the key drop off and the next day I got a bill for $147 for gas. I would have refilled it on my own! Every person told me something different. Very bad communication! Won’t be using them again

The service here was fantastic. Before and after we got our rentals an employee was able to pick us up and drop us off about 20 mins away. The vehicle were in great condition as well. The prices were a little higher than the lower 48 but understandable for the area.

I had a great experience purchasing a vehicle here, great family owned company. Scott was super informative and helpful throughout the buying process. No hard pressure sales and a great deal. 10/10 I would buy from them again!

A good friend of ours who lives in rural Alaska rented here recently because his wife had been medavaced to Anchorage and was hospitalized for over a month. She passed away last week. He was finally able to fly back to his homestead today but had 2 more weeks left on his rental. Hertz/Thrifty refused to refund him a dime. I'm absolutely sickening by their greed and coldness.

Our flight was changed with Alaska airlines due to covid and we arrived 2.5 hours before or scheduled time. We arrived at your service counter and asked if we could get our car early and stated that we could return it earlier as well. The guy refused and said "it will be ready at 1! NOT 12:59; at 1 PM" (at 10:45 am) in a hostile voice. He also stated that our specific vehicle was not ready unless we wanted to upgrade for $25 per day for something else. We politely pleaded and he refused. While I was waiting for two hours in front of the counter, I observed him talking to costumers coming and going. He repeated multiple times that he was the only one working for the company right now and that no two cars were rented in the same day for cleaning purposes. I then went out to your parking garage and observed every car in your lot. After waiting "my two hours" exactly he gave us a car that had been there the whole time. This car was also not the car we ordered. I also saw him upgrade another passenger that was early for free while we were waiting. After he finally gave my friend and I the keys he gave us a bad contract, he tried to add on an extra driver fee per day without our consent. We found this out half way out of the parking garage. After confronting him he then which tried to up our insurance coverage cost. While I was on the phone with my insurance company for another 30 minutes, he"tried" to make his pleasant conversation with us, by telling us where we were going we weren't going to catch any fish and that we don't know what we're doing. He was the rudest person I have ever encounter in my life! I have never filled out a complaint or a survey before this. My friend and I were venting about him for a day. He waited about 4 hours of our time and made the beginning of it trip horrible. Your employee was on bad power trip!Show quoted text
