Coolest place in Anchorage!!' My sister in law enjoys making stuff so we stopped in since she's never been there either. As soon as we walked in we got such an amazing greeting from all the women in the store, about a dozen were there. My nephew was even taken aback and he's 2 LOL We walked around the store looking at such eclectic patterns. Then we got to the back where a range of women were using sowing machines. Older women teaching younger women and older women just hanging out telling stories and laughing. It was everything that I've dreamed women should be, communal. My sister in law didn't find what she was looking for but knew her next stop for her next project. As we were leaving we got the same type of greeting, an upbeat goodbye with a twinge of sadness. Wish we had a place like this in Columbus Ohio...you're very fortunate Anchorage!!!

I love the selection and the staff here. They're all super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I also love that they can look up your previous purchase to help you locate something you didn't get enough of for the project you're working on. If they're out, they'll order it and call you once it's in. Beautiful store with great atmosphere.

My experience today July 2, 2023 Sunday afternoon 12:39. After 3 year’s coming to the quilt store and spending so much money buying material making quilts for the homeless women’s shelter, I have a emotional support service dog I take everywhere he’s a small yorkie and very well behaved and loved by everyone in all fabric stores grocery stores. Today was very upsetting day for me as I walk into the store and was approach by a women who work at the store and said I couldn’t bring my dog in this store, I let her know he’s a service dog she said it doesn’t matter I’ve come into Quilt tree for years and all the workers who work there has never kick me out of this store and they all usually interact with my service dog ? and all were very kind. I was in the store a last week buying material for a memorial pillow and need more today now can’t finish this ? for a person who lost her puppy. So sad and disappointed by this person.

The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. The fabrics are good quality quilting fabrics. They have a nice selection of unique and standard prints and solids. They also have a nice selection of quality yarn and knitting supplies.

I've shopped Quilt Tree & Yarn Branch for many years. For sewing/quilting, they carry an excellent range of fabric, notions, patterns, and offer great classes. In fiber arts, they offer classes, have standard workhorse yarns (think Cascade, Lamb's Pride) alongside lines like Noro, Lettlopi, Madelinetosh, Malabrigo, Juniper Moon, and more. Their selection of knitting tools and supplies is solid, too, although they're sometimes depleted! Call first if you need a specific size needle or notion. That said, if they don't have something, they're happy to order for you. This is a locally-owned shop that has a great selection, a very nice, knowledgeable staff, and delicious Kaladi Brothers coffee just two doors down at The Black Cup... What more could you want?!

Had the pleasure of stopping into The Quilt Tree! Beautiful fabrics and quilts lined the walls. The ladies working were so informative and helped in suggesting some wonderful projects. I'm from Ohio and was on vacation. It was a great shop and I got some really fun fabric!

By far the focus is on quilting fabrics, which unfortunately is one craft I never got into, but that's not all! The salespeople are clearly knowledgeable and the selection of quilting fabrics, patterns, and notions appears diverse. The yarn here is on par with the rest of the Anchorage scene..some sturdy basics, some stuff from trendy mid-size producers, and a few high end cashmere skinny skeins, nothing groundbreaking but would do in a pinch. But this is a quilt store, so let's get back to the fabrics.. I was happy to discover that in the past year they've added garment quality fabrics at very reasonably prices, as well as some indie clothing patterns. Fabrics include dobby, mudcloth, mariner weave, some nubby yarn-dyed cottons, and corderouy, all in the range of $11-17/yd. Some cute Japanese KOKKA prints were in there. Can't wait to go back and pick some up when I clear out part of my current stash! :)
