The work was good, but they were wrong about my dashboard lights being due to recall, so I’m out an extra $627.18 out of pocket.

What started out as a 2-3 weeks job costing about $5K, with 42 hours of labor, changed DURING REASSEMBLY to 5 weeks, $9K and 72 hours of labor. They suddenly “discovered” another 30 hours of labor needed AFTER the car had already been to paint. My initial requests for a detailed explanation as to why went unanswered until I followed up disgruntled a couple of days later. The answer they gave is “just a couple of small odds and ends needed to be ordered.” Those small odds and ends wound up nearly doubling the total cost and time. Because of this extension of time that my car was just sitting there, I exhausted my insurance rental car days and had to come out of pocket. It’s absolutely ridiculous that I literally had to pay for their mistakes. They billed 72 hours of labor. That’s 72 business hours. But they had my car a total of 176 business hours. That’s 13 full work week days that my car just sat.
The inefficiency is pretty astonishing. It’s clear your insurance is the customer, not you. They didn’t order necessary parts for my car until after they had already had it in their possession for 2 weeks. Then, those parts were shipped to the wrong location, resulting in further delays.
Initially, when they decided they needed my car another two weeks, all I got was a text message saying my target date had shifted with no explanation. The lack of consideration of giving a call to explain a significant shift in target date surprised me. I could have understood a slight delay and slight cost increase as they peeled back the layers of the damage, but all the metrics nearly doubling reflects a poor and unprofessional job during assessment and disassembly.
Their front of house people are very nice and friendly and seem to be trying, but at the end of the day, results from back of house are what matter and Classic Collision did not deliver.
The final insult was after all this, I was promised my car on 8/30 (they’d had it since 8/1), only to get a call that day saying they needed the car another four days because a part they waited way too long to order, wasn’t in yet.
I wound up canceling a portion of the rim repair because that would have taken yet another week for a total of 6. To get my car back at 5 weeks, I had to agree to forego having a rim repaired, because surprise, someone didn’t order the necessary parts in time and those were delayed as well. I got my car back 2.5 weeks late and incomplete.
Upon picking up the car, there was heavy shop particles all over the center console. Additionally; there were some scratches adjacent to my impact site they said they would take care of for me and didn’t. Finally, they reinstalled one of my window rain visors so poorly it flew off while driving home.
Lastly, go look at their responses to other customer’s similar complaints. It’s very formulaic and lacking substance. They say something like “sorry you had a poor experience. Feedback helps us get better. We’ve elevated this to management.”
But as you can see from other complaints like mine, they’ve been given plenty of feedback of this nature, but here is yet another customer experiencing the same type of issue.

Just picked up my car this morning, beautiful. The crew did an awesome job, I got my car back almost three weeks before the estimate date. I was even able to drop my rental off there instead of having to mess with running around town and a taxi etc. All around a painless process.
Thank you again and sorry for my grouchy attitude. My battery not holding a charge anymore and a lack of coffee led to a bad morning. Again, amazing job.

Terrible experience. Was told my vehicle would only take three days for a minor scratch on the hood after five days. My vehicle was never attended the first 3 days. It has now been 6 days now and no truck. I was informed that I would get my vehicle back by lunchtime as of right now it’s 3 o’clock in the afternoon and still no truck my insurance company already paid out and I’m still waiting on my truck. I will not be going back.

Update on previous review
I brought my car back in to have the poor paint job and damage they caused corrected. The paint job they did still looks pretty bad. There are little bumps in the surface of the paint, and they weren't able to buff out most of the scratches they did to the bumper of my car that they offered to fix while denying they caused them. I will never go back to them and warn everyone to avoid using them. (Posted for my husband)

Do not go here for any repairs! Rude customer service! The repair was to take 2-3 business days and 8 days later I finally get my car with a shoddy paint job and $1600 in additional damage! They claim it didn’t happen there but it wasn’t there prior to dropping it off but were willing to fix some of the damage and not all of it. Makes zero sense to only fix part of the damage if they were not at fault! I do not recommend you take your car here they are a very shady business and do not do business here!

Warning: Do NOT go to this shop!
I brought my car to Classic Collison on Dowling to have a minor scratch on my hood repaired. The red flags started to appear immediately. After they had my car for almost a week, I called to inquire about the progress. I was told another week, but he’d have someone call to give me a better update. Apparently, most of their paint department was on vacation. That is fine, but it makes no sense to make appointments if you don't have the staff.
The “repair” ended up taking one week. When I was picking it up, the employee told me it had a minor dust spot in the paint that should brush off, but they could buff it out if it bothered me. I came immediately home after getting my car and noticed it had bird poop on my front bumper. Upon wiping it off, I noticed significant damage to my bumper. I had just washed my car before dropping it off, and there wasn't any damage to it. Pictures uploaded to my insurance before also indicate zero damage; additionally, the “small dust spot” wasn’t where they pointed it out, and it was actually a large glob of spilled paint about the size of a pencil eraser.
I went back the following morning to talk to them. The employee and I looked at before and after pictures. You can clearly see in the insurance uploaded picture no damage, and the picture after they had possession of the car shows damage. The shop refused to admit they did it, but offered to fix the spilled paint on the hood they couldn't deny came from them and about 80% of the bumper damage that was scratch related. They refused to fix the piece that would need to be replaced. The estimator said he’d do the repairs himself in an hour. Why offer to repair anything if they didn’t feel they did the damage?
After my insurance company called them, they still refused to do the full repairs and denied causing it. Now, I am going to have to pay another deductible and take my car to another shop to correct the damaged they caused. Your vehicle should never leave the shop with more damage than it went in with.
Conclusion: Horrible customer service, poor paint job, and damaged my vehicle

PLEASE READ BEFORE TAKING YOUR CAR HERE.
I don’t really believe in reviews because anyone who has the time to write a review, probably has too much time on their hands. I do not. I am a nineteen year old, full time employee and student at the University of Alaska Anchorage. Dana Wright, the manager of this facility and his team Crystal, Taylor and my direct adjuster Xkylo are fraudulent and misleading individuals. My first car, my beloved 2015 Volvo V60 went into classic collision as a “trusted” company from State Farm. They have a Volvo certification hanging in there front lobby so I trusted them to do a good job buffing THE MINOR SCRATCHES to the front end of my car after it was SCRATCHED by another car (that was moving at 5mph!!) they deconstructed my car, and found “hidden damages” and found my engine cradle was bent and my car was totaled. I was left with no car and no way to get to work or school. Not to mention, I put my car into the shop on December 14th, and didn’t get it back till February 9th.
Because I complained and questioned the legitimacy of these assertions I figured out they were lying!
Dana and everyone else on your team, please know that I got a second opinion and every lie you told me was confirmed. The engine cradle was not bent and you damaged my car more somehow and then had me pay for you guys to do nothing.
I can’t defame you if it’s all true! You guys are literally the worst. Please find some passion in your life and maybe consider not being terrible people.
Thanks, or not,
Madison C. York

The front desk was determined to ruin my day every time I interacted with them. This business is allergic to high standards. I wouldn't want my worst enemy to have to get an estimate here.

Expect at least two months before getting an estimate on your cars damages. The staff are rude, impatient, and incompetent. Shop hours are inconvenient. It was an absolute nightmare doing business here.

Classic Collision in Dowling in Anchorage is a big disappointment! They deserve a zero score! Accident was in December but my car drop in appointment for repair was moved several times, then finally middle of June, apparently because of ordered parts. They finally have the parts but still my car was in their shop for almost two months. When I picked up my car, my car key was broken, taped on the fob. They hoped I wouldn’t notice but it was falling apart when I turn the key to start my car! They took the serial number, a picture and said they will order to replace it and will call me. A month passed but nobody called. When I called they said “it’s been ordered and it’s coming this Friday, we will call you.” They never call! When I called in, every time, they said the same. Since September, October, November, December, January, then now February the same thing. The same lies! They also asked me to bring the key in a few times so they can take the serial number again, or the repair man is coming, etc. all excuses! Classic Collision in Dowling has inconvenience me too much! I am a very kind person, But they are liars! Crystal of Classic Collision lies to me every time I call or even in person! Until this day today, I am still using my broken key and they are still giving me the same excuse! I am telling my friends and posting in social media not to be caught in with this very unprofessional service of Classic Collision in Dowling!
