“I have taken my car in at the last moment twice for tire issues and you have made time to fix it when I could not find anywhere else. I am seeking a regular maintenance business and your company comes up when I Google bonded, insured, warranty, etc . I want to have a reliable long-term service with one company. With some of the complaints don't you record the conversations when your needing to change a service and price so noone is surprised. If you sign for 90$ it shouldn't be 130 when you pick up your car unless you were called had a recorded agreement. There's no way I want to have that sort of thing happen to me. Maintenance is costly but necessary. And aren't all prices set for standard services? I am doing due diligence to find a good company. I hope you guys are it. Thanks.”

“I love this place! I’ve struggled to find a good mechanic in the past and it seems like there are less and less of them in Anchorage, but these guys are amazing. I came to them with some concerns about my cooling system in my engine. I also knew I needed to get new tires and have my brakes done, but didn’t even bring it up as I figured they would be way too booked with it being PFD week and right before winter. They gave me a call and thoroughly explained the issues with my vehicle, awaiting my approval for any services performed. In the past I’ve had mechanics “fix things” and just say “alright that’ll be $1000” with no explanation or consent. These guys are very knowledgeable and great at explaining things to people who aren’t well versed in car knowledge (aka myself ?). Within one day these guys diagnosed that the issue with the cooling system was a simple fix done with just a coolant flush, did an oil change, installed new brake pads and new winter tires, replaced my spark plugs amongst a few other things. All of this was done for a little under $1700. Most places I’ve looked at tires have quoted me close to $1000 just for the tires themselves. I didn’t even have an appointment and they did all of this in less than 24 hours. I think I have found my forever auto shop, can’t say enough good things about this place!”
“This was my first time dealing with Young's Gear. I called to make an appointment for noise in my front end. They were able to take a look at it a few days later. They fixed all the issues I had including a follow up noise that came up after the initial repair. These guys do great work and were excellent to deal with. I would definitely recommend them.”

“Called on a Wednesday morning to have my truck fixed after a CV axle got seized in the hub during a DIY job. They said they’d repair it with the axle I provided and would order anything else I needed. I got lucky cause they got my truck in a bay and all fixed up in 8 hours. They called multiple times during the day to tell me about any additional repairs I might want done and provided quotes for anything extra as well. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I’d like to think I won’t have to come back but if I get stumped again, I’d gladly take my vehicles to Reformed Automotive again.”

“I had to take my 2017 Jeep Wrangler to get the front axle seals replaced. I had Agen's also conduct a full inspection and there were a few other things that needed to be addressed. They kept me in the loop as to what was going on and in spite of a couple mishaps, they completed the repairs on schedule.”
“First time customer with this shop and brought my Ram1500, having a problem with squicky sounds and I thought it was the alternator. Dropped off the truck the next day at 11am so he can fix it. He didn't take the whole day to wait for him to call me, instead of alternator problem it's just the coupling. Replace the coupling and 2pm he called truck is ready for pick up. Jason is a trusted person as long you tell him what's need to be fix.

“This is the sign of a good mechanic. After looking at my car he comes to me and says, "We can go one of two ways. We can buy a new part, keep the car over night, and charge you more money OR we can do this one little thing now, everything will work fine and you can fix this issue later when you are ready. “Hale’s saved me thousands of dollars in fixes and the cost a rental car. A different, clearly predatory shop (they barely tried to hide it) was trying to convince me I needed to replace my head gasket.Hale’s was able to tentatively diagnose it—over the phone—as a sound coming from the timing chain tensioner. I brought it into their shop and turns out they were correct.My car is now working perfectly well—better than it has in at least 2 years—and the issues are gone.Very knowledgeable, very friendly folks, who aren’t in the business of price-gouging. They saved me at least 94% of the costs that I would have paid if I had stuck with the other shop—$230 vs ~$4000, all things considered. “My Silverado was making a clunking noise the night before. It was so bad I wasn't sure if I could drive it. Called a lot of shops in town and no one could take it because it's the Friday before Christmas (Monday). Called the shop and the guy said to bring it down and they'll have it fixed. I paid a reasonable price and I am able to do my Christmas shopping as well. Thank you so much to the guys over there. Great service and I'm going back for other issues that were highlighted but not urgently needed. They fixed the problem in 2 hours. Fast reliable and customer friendly.”
“I had a complex front end issue going on with my 97 F250 HD Diesel 4x4 truck that had a previous straight axle conversion done on it years ago. I called Alaska Spring and they patiently listened to my concern over the phone and recommended I stop by for a quick visual. The owner, John, came out onto an icy wet parking lot with a flashlight and inspected my front axle. He was able to get me booked into the shop for a more thorough inspection and was able to get me quickly and properly repaired and back on the road. Their knowledge level is top-tier, and the entire staff and experience was also top-tier. I will be recommending Alaska Spring to all I know and will be using them again for any future repairs needs. “yesterday my daughter's minivan wouldn't start. Contacted Jason. He said to jump start the vehicle and then bring it over to him. He within a few minutes determined that the alternator was good and the battery was bad. We quickly got a new battery and staff installed the new battery for us. “Seriously the best place is town to get your car worked on. I went to get my car horn fixed and wasn’t charged anything when they just had to fix a burnt out fuse.
Even though it was a small fix, they could’ve absolutely taken advantage of me and said that they fixed it and dig into my wallet, simply because I am a woman. I went in thinking I’d be charged over $240, and ended up walking away crying in absolute RELIEF.
They treat everyone fairly and it is extremely reasonable price for the work they do. I’ve always had good experiences getting my car into Big O’s.
Sometimes the wait-list to get your vehicle in is long but very well worth it when this establishment is founded on honesty, respect for any gender and efficient work. God Bless Big O’s!”
