“Jenny rocks! She works with beginners (like me) who hadn't touched clay since elementary school to accomplished potters (often together in the same class). The classes are geared to teach you technique, but are not "canned" you make what you want to make. This not "Monday we make mugs, Wensday we make bowls" She encourages your creativity and guides you through throwing on the wheel, trimming, preparing pieces for each of the firings, and glazing. She is able to work with each of us where we are at and her openess and comfort with all things pottery (she's been doing this for 35 years) creates a sense of community in the studio that really supports learning and creativity.”

“I tend to enjoy every visit made to Blaine's. As somebody who likes to try new mediums every other week, the wide selection of different tools and materials at Blaine's is like being a kid in a candy shop. The only thing I feel that Blaine's can be challenged on is pricing, but I do feel that there is a certain margin you just have to expect when buying locally vs buying online or at big box stores; plus I feel like it is a wonderful thing to even have a local option at all! Some of the pricing is not the most competitive, but for other things, such as markers, they tend to have very similar pricing to somewhere like Michael's, and have the benefit of being more organized and well-kept. When I buy a marker from Blaine's, I don't feel the need to worry that the lid was left off the last time someone picked it up, or that the lids might be on the wrong markers, etc. To me, the more intimate, person driven experience is worth the extra few dollars here and there, especially if you are into mediums that need more specific or high-end supplies. I do printmaking, and the variety of inks and tools they have at Blaine's is unmatched anywhere else in town. Overall, I would say Blaine's is definitely worth a stop, even if just to look around and imagine all the things you could make!”

“Truly incredible variety of beads at excellent prices. Laura is amazing, she helped me find the exact Delicas I needed by number for a butterfly pattern, from the racks and racks of gorgeous seed beads of all colors and types. My teens love going with me to find cute lamp work and carved beads and pendants to make jewelry. And, she has drawers and drawers of findings. If you want to try out beading, or just get a cool pendant for a souvenir, definitely check this shop out!”
