I called at 6:13 pm to ask if they would be open until 9 pm like their hours clearly state, the person that answered was rude and short and said they would be closing at 8. I arrived 40 minutes later at 7:04 pm and the doors locked and closed for the night. Super disappointed. They certainly lost my business.

Jason and his crew are great. Took the time to show me around and explain the different pieces, where they came from, and who is/was the artist of some pieces. Def worth checking out this shop for authentic Native made artwork and gifts!

Went into downtown anchorage to visit, and no one was there. Is this place still open?

A hidden gem in downtown Anchorage but a must see if you want gifts and art handmade in Alaska! It has a bit of a hole in the wall vibe to it, but don’t be intimidated. The building is split where the front is a more conventional style storefront, but there is a back room where you can see the artists do the carvings and buy directly from them. The ivory carvings are a bit pricey, but you’re paying for an art piece that was carved right there in the shop or made by a local artist. There is a musty odor to the shop from the carvings they do in the back. This wasn’t a problem for me and added to the authentic vibe, but I thought I would mention it for the folks with sensory issues :)

My husband and I visited the little hidden treasure two weeks ago while we were souvenir shopping. Really enjoyed our visit, owner is an exceptional person and we were grateful to meet him and see his carver's hard at work. My only regret was that we didn't buy his/their artwork. Calling tomorrow to see if piece we fell in love with is still available. George and Trish, south Fl

Highlight of my visit! Artists are working on site and I was able to speak to the artist who had carved the soapstine bear pieces I purchased. Jewelry is amazing and good value. Ivory and antler carvings were amazing.

Essential stop in Anchorage. I was wandering downtown for my last day in Alaska, which meant I had flexible time to spend. Expressing curiosity will get you all kinds of information - about technique, materials, tools. The artists work in the back so I was able to meet a few of them, see works in progress, chat about favorite materials. I bought as much as I could, and pieces were extremely reasonable. I really can’t put a price on this experience or the generosity expressed over and over to people who came in to the shop. There are many different kinds of art at many different price points, and this is a great place to support.

Alaska Art Alliance Gallery comprised my favorite part of a very short visit to Anchorage last week. These friendly artists showed me around the gallery and the shop where all the work takes place. My wife loved the figurine I brought home for her. Wish I could have stayed longer. Great work takes place at this gallery and shop.

What a terrible interesting local native art shop! It's not a fancy gallery but sort of a "hole in the wall place". They have about 10 local artists with pieces-in here, many of bone, antlers where they have been carved. Very interesting pieces of art!

I stopped into Alaska Art Aliance today. What a fabulous group of local artist and craftsmen. The workmanship here far exceeds any of the 20+ shops I visited on my visit to Alaska.

I stopped into Alaska Art Aliance today. What a fabulous group of local artist and craftsmen. The workmanship here far exceeds any of the 20+ shops I visited on my visit to Alaska. As an introvert, I am naturally stand offish with strangers, but I spent 2 1/2 hours chatting with the people here. They are so down to earth, and welcoming, it felt like a family atmosphere. highly, highly recommended.
