I came in here for the first time with my boyfriend after shopping at the walking store next door. As soon as I decided on which wine I wanted, the old short man who works there started following us, so I tried to make conversation and just felt like I was being “watched” for stealing.(which I do not do) He just stood and watched right next to us while we were trying to check the store out. Neither of us have any intent to steal, I just felt profiled. I continued on trying to shop but with the old man following me around it made me so uncomfortable, even after I tried to make light convo with them. This was the most weird awkward experience. I get protecting your store but I just felt this was really wrong. We did spend about $100 and honestly I wish I spent it at another liquor store where I know i won’t be profiled.

Best liquor store in Alaska! Great selection of very high end to more affordable wines, domestic & craft beers, very good selection of guns, vodkas, bourbons, etc. They also carry mixers, soft drinks & ice. Service is excellent. Staff is well educated on their products. Store is clean, modern, easy to navigate. We cater a lot of high end events and wine tastings. Mike McVitte is our go to guy for all things wine. Most knowledgeable Sommelier in Alaska. He knows the origins of the wineries down to what street they are on. Great location & free parking What's not to like?

Didn't have exactly what I was looking for, but the person who I felt might be the owner was very helpful. He got online to see who made what I was looking for and then helped me find who in town would stock such an item. He went far above and beyond what was expected. With customer service like that they have made me a customer for life.

Love this place. I don't go there for the products honestly. The staff is more than worth the price of admission so to say. Extremely knowledgeable and will happily have a conversation with you about anything under the sun. My guy that knows his brews and his fine brown spirits.... This is a shout out to you!

Great selection of foreign and domestic wines at very reasonable prices. Also, they're full service so they sell beer and liquor as well. Friendly staff, who appears to be the owner.

New to the area and love wine so naturally wanted to try this place out. I should've just turned around when I saw one of the employees (not sure if he was a manager or owner or what) standing at the counter with no mask on. There were other customers in the store so it's not like he was taking a break from his mask with no one around. Not a "hello" or "how can I help you" from him. I searched the red wines for a good ten minutes and still no offer to help. When I approached the register he still did not have a mask on and didn't greet me. I said "hi how are you" and he grunted something totally incomprehensible. Once I paid I grabbed my wine (no offer of a bag for my two bottles) and said "thanks" and got zero response from him. I was born and raised in New England so I know when someone is being rude, and this man was ruder than most people in my home state, which is saying A LOT. The Oaken Keg across the way has a decent selection and mask wearing, friendly people who work there willing to help. I will never go here again. Too bad because I spend quite a bit of money on wine for myself and craft beer for my husband.
