Ordered 4 studded tires and wheels and was told they’d be ready same day. They weren’t and when I called back, I was told they’d be done next day. Next day, I call and was told they couldn’t find my order. When asking for more information, their General Manager put me on hold mid-conversation and was so rude. Everyone we spoke to over the phone was rude. Please don’t go here. Please go somewhere else.

Early this cold morning, the tire pressure light indicated I needed air. The wonderful staff quickly filled all 4 tires with air and had me back on the road in minutes. Thanks!

If you're going to use a system in which customers need to take a sticker number from the front door upon arrival there should be a large sign stating so. It's very frustrating to show up early in the morning, being the 4th person in the parking lot, and then get put all the way to the back of the line because there was no way for me to know I needed to take a number. Especially when the general public can't be trusted to be honest and take the appropriate number to when they got there.

They didn't have any blizzaks offered me a knowoff brand for over $2000 when last year my blizzaks were $1300. Why would I pay $2000+ for tires they won't warrantee that I got last year! Not even 12 mos

Came in to have my tires balanced. I've had them balanced at different shops in Anchorage before, but they were never quite right, even though they are a common tire and common size (Falken Wildpeak AT 265/75R16). Came to American Tire for a Road Force Balance, and they are super smooth now. Definitely worth to spend the extra for the Road Force Balance.

"Old school" Alaska business, meaning they don't understand the internet exists (price gouging). Want to pay more for your tires, this is the place for you! Also, they say one thing on the phone, when you get there, stand in line, they tell you something different at the counter. don't waste your time at this place.

Don’t com here period. Go to a more reliable tire shop to get them switched. Brought my car in early in the morning. Was told it would get done soon. Came back before closing after calling many times with the job unfinished. When I asked them what’s the hold up. They said it would be finished at 6:30. 30 minutes after closing. Based on previous reviews, it doesn’t seem like they would work over time. Horrible customer service in general with sassy people over the phone. I needed one tire replaced. How is that so hard. Don’t come here unless you want to, what I’m assuming would be, wait days on end with no results. Won’t be returning

Bought 2 tires they said they could ship them from fairbanks they never showed up. So they offered me 2 winter tires plus i had to ask for my money back on the more expensive qinter ones. Dropped off at 9am. They wouldn't give me an estimated time they would be done. Low and behold 630pm half an hour after closing. Then after calling and asking when they where going to be done and getting nothing but rude responses it was finally done by far the worst tire shop in anchorage and terrible customer service do not go their if you want your car at a decent hour or you like waiting in a lobby for 3 hours. If I could i would give 0 stars.

I don't usually do reviews unless a location is exceptionally bad or phenomenally good. But my entire family has been going to this location for about a decade and we have always had top notch service. Friendliness isn't always over the top, but I don't expect that 100% of the time anyway and I've never been treated poorly by any employee here. There are other places I've had service my vehicle due to time constraints, but if I have the option I will always come to this location of American Tire & Auto because I know I will be treated well and taken care of. Kudos to everyone working here! This is the kind of place that deserves plenty word of mouth advertising and I recommend anyone I know who needs auto services to check here first.

Will waste your time. You’ll stand in line for an hour only for the employees to tell you they’re closed for the day when you’re at the front. When I asked where it said they weren’t taking more people for the day, an employee by the name of Kevin was quick to sass me and say it was on the door. Wasn’t posted when I came in, he acted like I was illiterate. I heard him belittling particularly the women in front of me when they didn’t know they didn’t need to be in line if they “had a number”. Didn’t hear laughing when a male had a number and didn’t know. Stereotypical misogynistic mechanic shop with 0 communication with their customers.

Very accommodating my first time in. I've tried to give them my money 3 times since, and have been turned away due to not being able to leave the vehicle over night. Very disappointing
