I think they could take better care of the animals and they should give more room as well as time (especially time with just you and the animal) before adopting so you can get to have a better idea if the animal is going to work for you or not.

Very easy out the door processing and they seem to care about the animals alot which is always good they answered any questions we had even when they didn't have the direct answer they would try and find it or help us find it would definitky recommend for people looking to get a dog or cat

Our experience with AK SPCA was remarkable ? the staff was incredibly knowledgeable about the animals, all details from their surrenders were given. The animals we met were in fantastic condition and you could tell all of them were being treated well. The adoption process was easy to navigate, and in our case we were able to take our new pup home that day. Piper was a staff favorite, and we can tell why, she's been nurtured by the SPCA which makes transitioning into a new family easier. I would recommend anyone to donate, volunteer, or adopt from this organization.

Very disappointed. The energy was super weird here..We walked in and the lady looked like she was taken back. We explained that we'd like to check out some cats and dogs in hopes of adopting. She said they usually only go by appointments but she'll let us see the cats...when we came out from visiting the cats we tried to see the dogs.. she told us no..while she had her back toward us on the computer and the other lady was on her phone. Neither explained how the actual process works or even gave us a card or any information to look over..we're military so Pet Smart is right outside the gate and they were more welcoming even when we're just buying a fish..so yea NO, WE WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE. 2 stars because the cats were cute.

My family went in looking to adopt a cat, we immediately were taken with one and the process to "try out" a foster with her was incredibly easy. They set us up with everything we needed to take her home that day food, litter box, litter and a carrier. It was a great experience!
